I17- Movement and typing lag

I get logged in and I'm having really bad problems. When I type in the chat box, there's a half second delay for every character I type. And just as bad is trying to move. There's a delay before I start moving and often my character keeps running 4-5 seconds after I let go of my forward button.

NVidia released new graphic drivers for my card a couple weeks ago and I just updated them, but this problem still remains. Anyone else having this problem and possibly a fix?

Same problem here. All settings are as low as I can get them, and it's bad.

We discovered in CB that a similar problem on ATI cards was being caused by a background hotkey puller. I don't know if the nVidia users figured out if what they were experiencing was the same thing, but that's where I would start. Good luck!

Ok, my problem seems to have been related to Google Desktop. I disabled that and thing seem to be working well now.

Very odd since it's never interfered with CoH before.

Look in the Open Beta chat and discussion, and there was a big thread in the closed beta boards about this to....just going on now myself....I have a feeling I may be having an early night

Yes, as I feared, Issue 17 and the input delay problem I experiance in Closed and Open has carried over to live

Early night or cancel subs or go look at Aion after seeing ElectroHawks forum avatar, what to do ??

Hawtness. I can confirm that I suffered from the Keyboard Input Lag bug in CB, and that this solved it. I'm pleased to see it in the Knowledge Base. If you are using an ATI card, it is my first recommended troubleshooting step.

I had the same issues in Beta with that if i went to high in the ultramode.

once i played with the settings ( i have a screenshot of my ingame graphics settings)

HOWEVER once i tried to apply the same settings to live, CoH keeps crashing everytime i try to turn down the water effects.
I could understand the issue if i was turning up the graphics.. but turning them down ??

So i had to set ultramode is off for me, which sucks seeing as it's the biggest piece of the content for this issue.

Let's try it again. You have nVidia, yes? Do you use Google Desktop?

I'm glad the ATI cards have a fix for this. What about Nvidia users? I tried about everything recommended in closed beta and open beta and it still exists. I'd hate to have to change video cards to play this game.

I look forward to more people experiencing this. Now more solutions might come forward.

(I use an GeForce8800GT card.) I know it's not high end, but it should be able to do the trick.

For anyone who the above fix doesn't apply to, I'd like to request you contact our tech support department. They are more equipped to help you than I, and with enough data we can pinpoint the problem and address it fully.

Thanks,

I've got this issue, I'm running an ATI 5750 card, and I attempted to follow the instructions in the link. Unfortunately, the "ATI HotKey Poller" that the link mentions, doesn't seem to exist on my system.

In Windows 7 I believe that the service is renamed as AMD External Events Utility. That may apply to Vista as well, but I'm not certain.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Was having this problem myself. The ATI fix worked perfectly though!
Thanks for the link Mod08

Thanks.. I'll have to check that out.

I just resubscribed for I17, and this immediately happened to me, I have a Nvidia card so the fix won't help at all, and waiting two weeks for tech support to tell me to reinstall my drivers or buy an ATI card doesn't sound appealing

Check to see if there's any other kind of hotkey software on your computer. I have an ATI, but the hotkey fix did not work for me. I found yet another hotkey system running that I deleted (Intellitype) and it cleared it all up for me. Not sure if it'll work for you, but worth a look.

Dec out.

I found that when I ended the 'itype.exe' process in the task manager, my input delay ended. I am on an nVidia 8800 GT with Windows XP, sp 3.

I hope it helps.
