Defenders would get a global boost to to all powers that increase regen, recovery, def, and resistance.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah! Screw TA! And Storm!I know you didn't mean it like that. But it's part of the problem Bill was talking about.

This thread would be more interesting in some vague way if I believed the OP's claim that the only way to get to 50 in less than three months was to powerlevel.

Does it seem to powerful?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. I think the word you are looking for is tankmage.
It's basically a blaster with a a tank secondary. Plus a damage bonus ala Fury. No heals or rezzes is not a detriment to a playable set, or there would be a lot fewer Electric Armor brutes and it wouldn't be the most requested proliferation for tanks. -
Splasher will change the music played by the boomboxes for you personally. As for letting other people hear your choices, it's a bad idea. Musical taste is so varied that the added expense and headache of establishing "approved" songs wouldn't be worth it.
-
First, read this.
Second, this would be a terrible way to implement customization if we ever get it. Nobody will agree on which origins should be matched with which animations. Even your own example of a tech origin is actually describing a character who is of mutant origin.
Origin is one of those things that is very broad and I hope it stays that way. -

Jet packs really? Do players really want jet packs? This is the first time I have seen this request. Hmmm I dont know about this one. I just dont see super heroes having jet packs. Why would a superhero ever want to leave the ground? I dont even think our game even supports flight.

*cough* Suggestion granted.
The order they appear in is up to you. They're drag and drop. -
Stardrive, I'll be generous and say you and your friend are greatly misunderstanding what happened.
GMs have no need to demand a character be deleted. What's the point? Once it's been genericed there is no more violation occuring. They don't "need an excuse" to ban someone, they can do that on their own already.
Please try to find out what's going on before running screaming to the forums about how horrible some customer service issue is.
Or failing that, please think up a more believable story next time. This one has too many plotholes to be entertaining. -
He rants nicely in this thread. Complete with a sad face for your mistakeness.

Heh. Such a loaded question. Everyone has their favorites. I know you said CoH, but would you mind one for villains? This is only my opinions of course. I'd be disapointed if I didn't have tons of people who don't agree with my listing. I'm also not going to worry too much about who has what badges, although I'll mention some of them. Overall I enjoy most of the Redside contacts, with Hardcase being the only one I can't stand. Both for his own and his cameo in Vivacious Verandi's arc.
Levels 1-9: It doesn't matter. You'll eventually get to them all over time with alts. Nothing really special here, although I do like Mr. Bocor better than the other options.
Level 10-14: Again the same thing, there's a good chance you will outlevel these contacts simply playing with teams anyway. Peter Themari's arc "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" will make Vernon Von Grun (45-50) more interesting, but I'd suggest not worrying about it and hitting it via Ouro later on. Veluta Lunata is an unlockable contact at this level, but I don't find her arcs good enough to really bother.
Level 15-19: There's actual choices to make here.Again, you may end up outleveling these, but don't worry about it.
Marshal Brass will give you background on Dr. Aeon and will unlock Ouroboros for you. (Not that you can use it yet though)
Willy Wheeler is a whiny little sap, but he's written believably. He also has the Paragon of Vice badge in his arc which is needed for the Marshal accolade badge.
Seer Marino is well written and fleshes out the background of everyone's favorite living dead girl, Ghost Widow. I suggest doing it at least once, but I often skip it on later run characters.
Level 20-24: Fairly forgettable. Lt. Chalmers will give you a skyraider jetpack with 60 minutes use, but that's less of an issue now.
Level 25-29: Some good ones here.
Doc Buzzsaw is an unlockable contact, requiring the Bling Badge. You may not have this one, especially if you haven't had a lot of debt or been running the Cap SF. Doc's comments contain some funny lines, so just make a note to flashback to her later on.
Archmage Tarixus has an average arc, but it has both the Soul Taker badge (needed for the Demonic Accolade) and a 10 use Blackwand temp power for you.
Diviner Maros is bizzare. You need to run through his arcs at least once just to hear him talk.
Levels 30-34: Crimson Revenant is an unlockable (need the Hammer Down badge) and he sends you against some Heroes. (Mynx and BAB) if you're looking for that kind of thing.
Timothy Raymond will give you some background on the Rikti, but it's no longer as useful as RWZ contacts will give you the same info later.
Levels 35-39: Technician Naylor has a good arc in "Automatic Villainy" and his other arc will unlock the Rularuu weapons for you.
Mercedes Sheldon is okay. Short, has a temp power for a reward and that's about it. Nothing special for villains, she's much better for heroes.
Levels 40-44: Hit Arbiter Rein at 40+ to select your Patron. You'll need to do the first part of your Patron Arc to unlock those powers if you want them.
Love him or hate him (there's no middle ground here) Westin Phipps is also at this level. He's a must do for everyone at least once. If for nothing else than to see where you fall in the great divide.
Levels 45-50: Vernon von Grun! BEES! TAKE MORE BEES! Run it, love it, and don't forget to practice your laugh.
Viridian has a good arc with plenty of AVs to fight. He needs to be unlocked though.
Efficiency Expert Plither. How I loathe him. He's an example of Positron's writing. It's why I like Hero1 so much more. His arc is a series of timed missions that must be completed without any failures to earn the Efficiency Expert badge. The timers are short and can be hard to do on a squishier character or one that can't stealth it. And no, you can't flashback to it to try again.
Special:
Darin Wade is levels 20-30. He's the reason villains don't enter the Midnighter Club as early as heroes. Well written and good set up for the Midnighters in general. I recommend it.
Ashley McKnight is levels 30-50. You need to run her arc to get to Cim, so there you go. Do it before Darin Wade or after, either way you'll doubt anything either one says.
The RWZ: Levels 35-50, different contacts. A definte must at least once. Well written, with Dark Watcher in paticular having some rather interesting enemies to fight.
Ouroboros: The intro arc is fairly generic. You'll run it anyway though. Just accept it. Lazarus has some fun chaotic carnage at the end for a team. Tesseract has some well dressed Arachnos in hers. You'll want to see them at least once, although the MA will let you skip that if you want. Silos is easier than for heroes (no Jade Spider to fight) but lets you give the Freedom Phalanx the beating they so richly deserve. -
Er, what's the point? I don't see why it's needed to have the newspaper/radio work in every zone for a level 50. I don't see any real problems, just not sure why you want it. So it's kinda meh for me.
As for adding the Dev's Choice missions, what you're asking for is basically already in the game. Almost every zone has an AE building, the only difference would be in making them canon (unlikely to happen) by having them use random mission doors outside of the AE buildings.
[ QUOTE ]
With this, maybe I won't spend 90% of my 50's playing time in Peregrine - I'll go out and explore the world, fightin' ebil and all that stuff, like a real high level hero would.
[/ QUOTE ]
In all honesty, it sounds like you want to make a game change based on unhappiness with your own playing style. There is nothing keeping you in Peregrine, especially if what you're wanting is to run MA arcs.
The Devs will never be able to create new content faster than we can play it. Do I want more content? Yes, of course. I'm just not seeing how this suggestion adds anything at all. -
I just wanted to make a joke about how you have to love farming, you're Amish. But it turns out there are a large number of Amish that don't work on a farm.
I hate this thread now.
And considering the number of times people with "No Farms Please" in their search comments get invited to farms or asked to pad I doubt anyone would see much of a change with your suggestion. Just go with Bill's advice. -
An immob in the secondary isn't much of an issue. /Psionic Assault has one in Subdue already. Although I'd think that Midnight Grasp would be a better pick then Tenebrous Tentacles.
Life Drain is an odd choice. I'd expect it to be skipped quite often with Siphon Life also in there. Healing is nice, but by the time you get it in your list the primary should be enough to keep you from taking so much damage that you'd need both. -

my non playing friends so amased TV ppl, journalists, musicians, etc...,
That some journalists wanna do a enquiry about this game.
the more it goes the less imma say 'no,leave them be , its just kids'.
there are things here, that bothers me, and my friends.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, are you saying we could get an expose into the deep dark underbelly of CoX? That would be awesome. Have them do it in a "Behind the Music" type theme. Would this hard hitting piece of journalism be available online? And not through some blog, but an actual AP or Reuters type news service?
Bonus points if they can work in the following phrases:
But not all was well in Paragon City.
And then the exploits died.
Is this the end for our intrepid heroes? Stay tuned to find out!

"neo commie patriot act"
[/ QUOTE ]
And for some reason this line just cracks me up. It's such a mashup of political references that are all used incorrectly that I feel I should love it. The idea that Neoconservatives are forcing their Communist beliefs through secret monitoring of publicly posted comments on the internet is something I had never considered before. -
I'm so confused. Isn't this the title for world pvp and not motorcyle suggestions?

[ QUOTE ]
Is there anywhere in the game with power suppression that isn't on it's own, separate map?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know of any constant ones. But the Devs seem to be able to turn it off and on as something like an AoE toggle. I've seen both Ghost Widow and BaB turn suppression on during different events. It certainly didn't seem to be affecting those who were far away from them. -
I'm all for Wentworths (and for the Black Market as well, but only after moving them indoors/underground/anywhere but out in the open), but the AE buildings won't have it outside of Studio B.
Remember that people are entering and exiting missions there as well. I agree with you on how annoying it can get and do try and turn off my more obnoxious toggles when I exit. But for people popping in and out a blanket power suppression may not be the best thing. -
[ QUOTE ]
And it totally destroyed the fun of the Sewer Missions I have so much fun at to level though your beginning levels. not a lot of folks doing mishes anymore. Just power leveling and farming.....shallow. its fun but it gets old really fast.

You other servers can just get use to the catgirl noises like those of us on Virtue. After a while they just fade into the background. You'll hardly even know they're there. Just watch where you step. -
[ QUOTE ]
Let's compress a Rikti invasion into the AE building and scale everything accordingly. The power goes out and the windows disappear, followed by miniature Rikti dropships flying in and dropping tiny bombs on people using the terminals. Then cue mini-Rikti teleporting in to attack everyone! Since they're all tiny though, they'll have to be proportionally weak as well. At the size I'm imagining (few inches tall), they might not even be able to kill a level 1 Blaster, but it'd be hilarious to watch.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm 100% /signed to this idea. Being threatened by smurf sized Rikti would be awesome. -
[ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't suggest this as a zone event, only an event within the AE building.
[/ QUOTE ]
This would without a doubt be the most poorly received event ever. Inside the building itself? You mean where people creating arcs are unable to see what's going on around them? Yeah, those people would love to be ambushed.
Might as well add an ambush inside the tailor/facemaker as well. And don't forget to remove the kill zones at the Auction houses.
As an even worse option, you could have them "cut the power" to that paticular AE building just before attacking. That would dump people out of the builder so they could defend themselves when the ambushes came. Of course they'll probably not be saved to that point so you know you'll have wasted someone's time and effort and they won't be happy. Even an auto save isn't going to completely solve that problem. -

[ QUOTE ]
Beyond this, maybe allow x1.5 Influence on other servers. When the population balances out some, then shut the spigot off.
[/ QUOTE ]
No. Inf is already nearly worthless, save in a couple instances, as it is.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to mention that the biggest place to spend inf is on the Auction Houses, which happen to be cross server. So the extra inf from one server will quickly find itself on another since transfering inf from server to server isn't much of a problem.
There would be no incentive to change servers at all. -
[ QUOTE ]
You want to have custom critters able to shoot me at their targets? That's about as crazy as Sword Blast...
[/ QUOTE ]
What if it worked like the Redcap power and you got to beat on people's heads? -
Hate's correct about the potential problem for the Black Market. It's possible for certain mobs to stand outside the kill field and fire in; I've only had this happen at Sharkhead though.
As much as I'd love to see this at the BM, it wouldn't be good the first time someone was sniped by an NPC.
So how about we move those Black Markets indoors?
