PB/WS w/ no Vet Badges = High Risk for the Team

It's funny how I still think that if someone is on a PB or WS I assume that they are a veteran. I have to get with the times as that is no longer the case. You know you just "assume" they know what they are doing...anyway now I check the Vet badge of a PB or WS first thing so I can stay away from them if I don't see at least a little experience. Learn something new every day I guess.

It's never been the case. A PB or WS needs be no more experienced than a level 50 "pure Empath."

I'm sorry, but what was the point of this thread?

Cripes now you want points?!

This thread would be more interesting in some vague way if I believed the OP's claim that the only way to get to 50 in less than three months was to powerlevel.

Remind me never to play with ppl like you who thinks vet badges magically make you L337. I have been on teams where noone had a badge and still steamrolled through mobs. I rarely judge my team on badges or howlong they have played bc its not perfectly accurate. What is accurate is the intelligece lvl of the the actual person behind the monitor. There is no way to tell that until you actually play with them. But kicking off a player who has no vet is pretty mean. If nobody wanted to play with you when u first started would you condone that? We were all nubs once too.

This may only be vaguely on topic but I'm bored and waiting on someone.
Before i14 came out,I rolled a ss/wp brute.I played this guy non-stop for 2 weeks.I personally built a team every night. We ran only paper missions. So I could pick the best ones available.
I had mostly the same core teammates every night as well.
At the end of 2 weeks this brute was level 50.
Now it should be noted at the time I was going threw a bad case of insomnia,so I played ALOT.
But my point is you can get to 50 fast without powerleveling in this game.

<qr to OP>

I have two accounts. I have trials I can convert over (and, heck, have a COV box, unopened) to full accounts right now.

I could get a character to 50 on that account and roll a Kheld before it ever got a vet badge.

Remember what "Assume" starts with, and don't make one of yourself.

I like how the OP doesn't bother to explain *why* they're high risk for the team.

I'll be getting my second vet reward in later this month , i think that the op is talking mostly about PB's, bc the nova form has two kb attacks, and if he is teaming with a human form pb, well one foot stomp w/ no holds ~ 10 villains go flying. So i think he assumes that no vet badges means no experience. I don't believe this to be true, however, I have seen a lot of newer people pl'ing to 50 to get to the EPIC AT. When I first started playing I thought PB's and WS's were going to be the "poweroverwhelming" kind of toon. I found out they weren't, but PB's are my fave and main toon

You've never teamed with a Meow baby, clearly.

Points mean prizes.

Posi needs to take a leak on this thread and blow it up.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Ha...you all are great. Such vitriole....

I posted and immediately moved on with my life feeling much better about throwing out this mini-rant and here I come back to the forum and to my surprise instead of the expected 5 views and no replies I have a bunch of replies. Nice Job

Anyway just to be clear I will restate my position. If I am on a team with a PB or a WS who does not hae many if any vet badges then things have a greater chance of going wrong because...well here let me provide a real life (well in game real life ) example. OK so you know when you save Fusionette in Faultline and the pigtails of Agro starts going to work...well that is the high risk I am talking about. I suppose I could have said "any blaster with AoE attacks" or something similar but that is the basic point...

If you are saying. Hmmm you seem to be busting on PL'ing...the answer is Yes you are correct.

If you are saying. Hmmm there are exceptions to that rule there Rubber_Dog...some players have dual accounts (I have one) so vet badges don't tell the whole tale or they simply could be a new player that is also a good player...Yes you are correct also

If you are saying..Hey there Mr. Vet Badges man you sound like you are saying that vets are better players than non-vets...Isn't that just a generalization. That's another Yes. I am saying exactly that...vet players are better than new players.
If I left this game and went to another one I would be new and prolly cause a lot of problems for my team (without even knowing it) but that is just the way the world works.

Now I am going to submit this post and check the boards again in a few days or next week or whatever...have fun.

I was merely pointing out that this thread had no point.

Carry on.
