You fight him in one of Scirocco's missions; I like his line if he beats you. "I thought you were called 'bad guys' because you were evil, not just because you weren't any good."

Quote:It's not a real fix, but at least with Wincott & Peebles you can cut your travel time by immediately going to the Find Contact button when you hit 5 & 20 and choosing Teleport to Contact, then talking to them.
I didn't get my answer. I wanted to know if they'd ever make it possible to skip the "run to the PvP zone liaison" missions and "Run to the Hollows/Striga/etc" missions without burning an autocomplete. I can see how these help new players, but, good god, as a 7 year vet, I don't need to waste time on every damn new character I make for a fedex run with no rewards that's required to get further missions from that contact.

Quote:Or someone like me who doesn't like powerleveling and thinks the Praetorian content is generally superior to the 1-20 Hero/Villain content.IMO the reason Praetoria is dead these days is that it no loner serves its original purpose. You can now start as a Scrapper in Mercy Island or a Mastermind in Atlas Park, and you can run DFB and be level 20 in a mater of an hour or two. That's not an option in Praetoria, so only dedicated RPers, or masochists go there now.

For Trick Arrow, one combo I find very good is Illusion/TA. It adds hard control to Illusion, and the various /TA debuffs are good with Phantom Army. And both PA & Phantasm have ranged attacks so the AI refusing to go onto the Oil Slick doesn't matter. Just make sure you pick Tech or Magic origin to make lighting the Slick easy with the Origin power.
Quote:I have one and enjoy it (although getting it to Freezing Rain was a pain since I mostly soloed). Can't believe no one mentioned Archery/Storm. The greatness of having a -res patch like Dark Miasma but chock full of debuffs like -rech and -fly but with the control of an ice slick. Castable from around a corner and a slow toggle to bunch them up. Anything that reaches your corner will get a mouthful of Lightning Storm and vs tough targets like EBs and AVs, you've got multiple tornadoes eating away at them.
Yeah, there's also stuff like Hurricane's knockback/-ToHit too and if you like the synergy, Stunning Shot + Thunder Clap (+ Tornado if you want).
I personally like the thematic link between rain powers too, just a cool trick that will own most foes.
Granted, I don't have an Arch/Storm myself but I can tell it'd be great fun. -
It's happening to me; I started a thread on it in the Technical Issues forum and Aggelakis mentioned this thread. And in fact it happened to me again the first time I tried to post this message.

I don't know if this is just me or not, but I've been getting a lot of errors on the forum today where I click on a link and either I'll get a blank white field or I get a "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" message. Anyone else having this?

Blasters benefit more from the KB since they don't have anywhere near the options for control & debuff that a Corr/Def has. Corr/Defs also often have problems with knocking things out of their own debuff patches; there are ways to help with that, like hovering or taking a set like Storm with persistent debuffs. I enjoy my knockback-happy Energy/Storm Corr.

Well, to pick a few villains:
Dread Necrosis (NecroDark): Wants to kill all life and raise it as his undead slaves.
Mother of Machines (Bots/FF): Wants to kill all life and replace it with "perfect" machines.
The Darkness That Burns (Fire/Dark): Wants to kill all life because it's there.
Hellforge (Bots/Thermal): A demonic entity who became fascinated with human artifice and came to the mortal world to learn all he could of it,(after exhausting what he could learn from damned souls. Regardless of how much damage he has to do in the process.
Occam the Razor (BS/Nin stalker): He wants to eliminate unnecessary entities.
Herald of Armageddon (Demons/Time): A half demon time traveler from a future timeline where the infernal legions have conquered the mortal world, he seeks to ensure that his future is the one that occurs, and that the Apocalaypse happens on schedule.
The Opener of the Way (Illusion/Storm): His purpose is to, well, "Open the Way". To what no one knows, but no one really wants to find out. A Lovecraftian homage.
The Wolf of Fimbulwinter (Ice/Dark Corr): As the physical embodiment of Fimbulwinter, it is his goal to grow in power until he can break his chains, manifest fully and wrap the world in an eternal dark winter.
Dark Mechanix (Bots/Dark): An enslaved former hero of a universe consumed by the Primal Darkness, he has been sent to weaken Earth in preparation for its own consumption.
Mad Man Max (Mace/Will brute): Wants to do what the voices tell him to do. And the voices tell him to SMASH! -
I'm thinking Dark/Fire, with some color customization to make it look less like a hellspawn and more like some kind of pollution monster. The Dark variant of Fire Breath for example has always looked good as a "vomiting forth contamination" attack.

They half-fixed it some time ago. Pets won't go on the slick while it's burning, but they no longer run any farther than the edge and aren't bothered by the spot afterward.

I got the Mynx to Sands one, but misdirected it to Television. Television did a network news style report on the affair, including the fact that Arbiter Sands has mysteriously vanished.

After reading this thread I came across a Valentine Tip where you can misdirect a Valentine to Crosscut. Setting him on a woman was genuinely a little disturbing.

Quote:I've one it the 30s, and it got OK after the pets. It may not get the debuffs till later, but it does have the shields and Forge when you get the pets.1-40 will be very slow. Fire Control doesnt hit its stride until the pets. Thermal's enemy affecting powers dont show up until very late either.
I've one of those, 40ish or so. A little squishy but it's good damage & spectacular to watch. Fire everywhere. -
Quote:Westin Phipps:To work out what's moustache twirling content, simply read a mission briefing, then ask yourself, "would Westin Phipps approve of this?"
Quote:Desperation, deprivation and despair are floating through the halls of Haven House now that everyone has heard about what you've done. I had a young mother bring her little children to me in tears.
'Oh, Mr. Phipps! My little Elsie and Sophia ate some of the food Character poisoned, and now they've gone blind! What will we do?'
Oh, I tell you, it took all the control I had to stop myself from laughing. But I put on my most sorrowful and sympathetic face for them, and took them all in. You've made this dreary charity case a simply delightful situation.
Now, whatever will I do with a desperate mother and her blind twin daughters? Hmmm... -

I wish it was at least tilted towards your alignment; I played for a few hours last night on a villain and got only one non-heroic V-tip.

I liked the one I just got from Dark Watcher to Desdemona:
Quote:I also liked that she was having a party with the Cabal. "Don't worry girls, I sent my demonlings to go get us some drinks, they should be back soon."Desdemona takes the scroll and opens it, reading the message carefully, her brow bunching into a knot and then her eyes hunting the shadows around the room for the Dark Watcher. In-ter-est-ing... Now, it takes a lot to unnerve me, Darkness That Burns, but someone named The Dark Watcher telling me that he's been watching me for years is totally creepy... a little endearing... but mostly creepy. Thanks for delivering this to me. At the very least, from now on I'll be getting dressed in a well lit windowless closet, at least, until my demon prince and I have a little chat with Mr. Dark Watcher about just what Vanguard wants with little ol' me.
