fire/thermal - how well can this solo?

I have a concept character that would go well with rings of fire, so I want to try fire/ controller (since a dom doesn't really use the rings of fire).

thermal seems a natural pairing with it for the concept.

I used to like controllers as a hero AT, but I got frustrated soloing them, so when dom's came to heroside I switched to them.

How well do controllers solo now? And how well would a fire/thermal solo? I am interested in the 1-40 range, not end game.

any fire/thermal guides?

1-40 will be very slow. Fire Control doesnt hit its stride until the pets. Thermal's enemy affecting powers dont show up until very late either.

Dominators typically do use the AoE Firecages though. They just have other attacks too.

Fire/Fire Dom would do extremely well most likely. Consume for endurance recovery at lvl 20 really helps.

Thanks, I've rolled him up as a dominator and will see how it goes.

Maybe I'll make a grav controller when the changes hit live
