    i agree. but i tought they did give scourge to the dominator's version of VS too.

  3. i can see why for the /ice part . i did not took it for the moderatly long rech of the first rain power (can't remember it's name) and the generally high cost (end wise) of the powers.

    but for the cold/ part i don't get it.

    concerning our VS that doesn't scourge.... WHYyyyyyYYYYYyYYYyYYYYYYY?!
  4. i rolled a rad/son

    so far (level 20) he is not bad. but i see a lot of **/elec

    what are the best combo damage wise?

    for ST or for AoE.

    for AoE i'm not sure that rad/son is the best choice. i have nothing to root mobs (so the debuffs don't apply on all the mob all the time) and son is a little poor AoE wise.

    maybe dark/ice would be better?


    last question, but not least: does our Voltaic sentinel scourge like the dom's version?

    Wait til you start getting into teams with multiples of them. There's really no downsides to them:

    They do high damage
    They have mez protection
    They have great defenses
    They get a second costume slot at level 10 (assuming you play through the arcs)
    They're great teamed and solo

    I honestly wish the hero EATs could be as good. I find them needlessly complicated and also lacking for slots every level.

    hero EAT got nice damage, mezz prot, tanking ability by level 10, get better in team ...etc

    the BIG difference is that hero side you really FEEL epic
    you are an alien, you have power with lot of flashy FX, 3 possible build/playstyle and you are not a MOB with a shotgun of a claw meleer like / psi assault dom like thing

    i was dissapointed too by villains Epic. Recluse ultimate weapon are well trained soldiers.. -_-'
    and wihtout the shiny effect, having a attack chain of 3-4 power you cycle endlessly becomes boring (and the power are not that great in the end)
    they lack of utility powers like PB's heal, or a free tp friend/foe.

    not saying VeaT sucks, but i imagine that they don't fit my "ultimate super villain" view

    if i wanted strong ST attack i would never have rolled a dominator.
    those fix you all call a "buff" were intended to increase doms popularity. not to increase it's pvp potential

    so what? we build a list of issues in the dom forum, most of them are about primaries issues, things we can bring to a team in high level content, and our squishiness

    and what do the dev?
    they cut our AoE potential IN ALL THE SETS by increasing rech and end cost of all the interesting AoE/PBAoE powers

    they give use better st attack BUT makes us slow as if we were a meleer

    they just ignore all the ancient issue we pointed out and just "fix" gravitiy control by turning lift into levitate, they "fix" impal with thornburst? (lol)

    they do not nerf but change what /psi assault was about (bad ST damage but quick animating attack to stack - rech, light on end, an awesome dom building power (dart) and all your damage in your AoE potential.


    to me it's seems that all they wanted was to kill perma /psi doms and by doing that they ignored
    -they would kill the other set's AoE potential
    -that they would ruin the casual dominator's attack chain (you know causual, hte guys that are supposed to give dominator a try thus increasing dom population)
    -they give nothing that can make a team whant to group a dom more than another AT.
    -don't fix any other issues

    those that were keeping the (dying) villain market alive and were (like all the other AT) using the invention system to be better?
    boo perma dom! hail to all the other perma thing of the game

    moreover for a lot of end level content you are almost forced to go the permadom way
    more mezz resist/defense, more mob that can mezz your for century and less and less mobs that deals "low damage"




    to sum up, this "buf" can be considered to be a (bad)buff by the PvP community but PvE wise it's a bad joke.
    not everything in this game is about "moar damage". i don't see anything that will helps me deals with what is an issues for doms in this game. and i will certainly get less and less invite in team :s


    PS: none of my doms are perma of even close. i never farm and try to have fun in PvP and yes, i know this game.
    oh and my english is bad i already know that.
  7. 40% res to @ll and lot of sets focus on giving psi res/def.
    as PvP nowaday is all about min/max'ing i'm not sure psi keep it's "least resisted" statut anymore

    for the phase shift thing, i don't know for you but for me dim shift barely phase any heroes for more than 1 sec :s

    the window will be very very tight but yeah could be fun

    those are still melee power. with a 4 sec hold as only protection i'm not sure that even boosted in damage, going in melee range of a blaster/scrapper/tank is a good idea.

    the first will out damage you (at range too anyway) the 2 other will simply ignore the KB :s

    This game has AT that means they are stronger in some fields then other AT and weaker in other. The game was made to have people team for a reason.

    I do not think a blaster should be able to take as much damage as a tank. Or for the tank to but out as much damage as a scrapper. But people cried it wasn't fair that there toon wasn't god and wanted it changed.

    The AT were made the way they were to have people from teams and to run togather. It is known that if you get people to play togather they will play longer on a MMO. Why do you think they made SG/VG. They didn't do out of the kindness of there hearts. But they wanted people to feel like they are part of something.

    What we have now is a system that was made by whinners for whinners. We have lost what AT was suppose mean. AT was suppose to be different. You weren't suppose to be the best healer and damage dealer. You were suppose to find some that made of what you lacked in. But not that not the case now its broke. You can say all you want it is not but it is.

    i did the "steel the essence of leviathan" mission from mako patron arc.

    that was just plain stupid i couldn't even take more than ONE Psionic Tornado. (leaving me with 100 hp or so).

    and they were EB level only...
    i'm not sure that more damage will increase dom utility. thay still "have" to draw lot of aggro to do there job (you know mezzing or a thing like that) and more damage when you fall at the first blow is not a fix IMO.

    it's nice of course, but it will only makes doms better against things they could already kill with few issues.

    i feel all the other secondary do better. yes even energie

    oh and thorntrop even with 2 damage proc, can't be considered as a "good AoE damage dealer". it's more a kind of soft control in fact (slow + fear effect)
  18. i was thinking that it should be allowed to ice slick to take IO set.

    every earth patch can slot sets and it does not make the powerset uber powered.
    iceslick is one (if not the main) of the best tool a ice control Dom can have. it should be Set-able


    ps: oh and give chilling embrace the -Dam component! we have less hp than blasters and even tanks got it

    and sadly it 's the same in pvp for a lot (too much in fact) of build that "pWnZ" in pvp.


    i personnally don't think that pvp require more skills than PvE.
    it's been a long time since PvP just ignore the role each AT is supposed to fufill
    damage, damage, damage oh and sometimes +damage buff and it's all

    bring back PvP under normal PvE rules (and by that i'm not talking about pré i13 pvp) give back each AT one, and only one speciality (lol tanks that deals brute damage level, lol everyone being able to mezz, lol defender/controller asking for more damage) and maybe the skill of PvP'er will be what makes the difference.

    yeah it's well known that blue side is loaded with pvp genius that get a 8 hours training a day, while villain only got noob.

    even if it was the case, the fact that all the so called genius are on the same side talk for itself no?


    you implie that pvp is a question of skills ^^

    how comes that villains should need some kind of "euro training" to be performant when a hero only have to click his power?


    go to recluse. (iknow lolzonepvp, blahblah)

    if villains are pwning heroes, it means that they are in a 8vs 1 configuration (and it's not even sure 100% of the time that they will be "safe")

    most of the time are heroes are pwning villains just cause there are 2 io'ed ice/em tank or an empath + a psi/em blaster with a regen as a back up.

    1/roll the FoTM.

    you already won at 60% by picking some combo / AT that are easy mode.
    to know which one, go in a pvp map and look what chain kill anything without any resistance.

    80% of them are hero side.


    2/ farm and buy set


    -> now you can disconnect your brain and go on rampage .
    that's all

    oh and don't forget to make a bind that praise your "SkiLlZ"

    you see more reason to see a tank being able to 2 shot squishy at ease while 2 heavies are targeting him?

    more reason why a blaster can still ignore almost any defense you can come with and drop a brute like if it was a squishy?

    i mean tank are supposed to deal moderate damage no?
