I need to flush my brain of that.
And it's not Arch-Type. It's Arr-Ke-Type. -
They've also been planning to give the Bruiser a brain "soon," but that hasn't happened yet.

The day they allow Mind/* Controllers to get a pet, is the day Nemesis's Plots are revealed to be media speculation.

Can't Rikti shapeshift? Or at least something along the lines of "Mind Riding," like Sister Psyche? Gives us a reason for normal-shape REATs

Quote:A little far out there, but (to slightly modify/add on to this idea) how about only transforming part of the character?i would like to disable the transformations on Khelds.....
i like the other forms powers (and weaknesses) but it's soooo limiting for character concept. i usually don't want to be a squid or a lobster, if i could have the same powers, without the look of the other forms, that would be great. you would still "transform", still gain the pluses and minuses of the "form", but you would still look like your human form. this would work well with the "fx in pvp only" option. not sure if anybody would agree on this with me, but it has kept me from playing a kheld for the last 4 years.
My add-on: In Nova transform the lower half of the toon to the "tentacles," and in Dwarf, transform the hands into the "crab claws," and in the case of Dwarf Flare, turn the lower portion of legs into the Dwarf legs. -
Quote:I'm going to keep my mouth shut about CoH v. (>) Champion. If you look at the animations for SJ in champions your character flails their limbs in a running motion
Anyway, I think that the character just flailing their arms like they just got fired by a slingshot would be pretty humorous. -
The thing with Warshades, IMO (and also what made me delete my own), is that you have to be flexible. You can't get sucked into the stereotype of Archetypes/Powers (Blasters are range, Regen sucks now, etc).
Warshades have so many possible ways to be built, it confuses me why I haven't seen so many. You can go range with control, range with the gall to back up your aggro, melee with control, and so on. And that's only in Human form. If you can balance jumping between Human and another form, you start to see how amazing these beings are. When you can handle the craziness that is a Tri-Form, you become pure death on a seafood-based sack of skin.
On an unbiased view, Warshades are (like nearly every other AT in the game) only as good as the player. To quote whoever said this, if you can't stand the heat (of a seafood restaraunt) then stay out of the kitchen.
All in all, it would be a good idea to try one out to level, I don't know, 26. You get a good idea of what's to come, what you can do, and what you will be able to do. -
Well, if my two cents is allowed, I PAY for this game, but I can't play when the servers are down? Should I start screaming that I'm not allowed to enjoy something that I've "PAYED" for and have "PAYED" for for the past 7 years?

My Scrapper has Cardiac, mostly because I'm constantly running 8 toggles, including Focused Accuracy. Plus I'm Claws, with nigh-perma Hasten, and that adds up pretty fast.
-
I'll have to throw in a vote for WP. Outside of Incarnate trials, I dont die. If you're going to run the around 9 toggles I have, be sure to put 3 (or more, depending on your IO style) slots in Quick Recovery and at least two slots in Stamina. 3 slot Health if you can spare the slots, while you're at it. After all that, you wont fall down.
Unless the random number generator decides to hate you, then you feel like an Invul in a Carnie mission. -

IMO, I would go for S/L Defense. Because let's face it, we can't purely decimate everything in front of us anymore, and some baddies are going to get really angry and run around the Ice Patch and start slapping you with more rage than an angry ex. So, with your S/L defense being capped, you still have the chance to survive.
I can see the advantage with Ranged Defense, however. If you could fit in Hover (unsure if you're a yeti with a gun or if there's no theme present), the Ranged Defense would be more advantageous, since practically nothing in the game flies (Aside from Freaks, Sky Raiders, and some Rularuu, I believe). With Hover, you could simply sit far enough away from Melee range and just shoot away. -
My main confusion is why you have Fitness taking up power slots..?
-
Yeah, I know, crazy talk, right? I know I need to be checked out by the leading psychologists.
ANYway, out of boredom/curiosity I made this build with soft-capped to S/L DP/Dev. Heck, all my defenses are >20% (Even Psionic).
My main question is: Is it going to be useful? Certainly my chances of dying are lowered substantially, but can I still lay the smack-down?

Anything on Fire/MM? Or should I just look at a Fire guide and the MM guide?
-
After reading responses and such, I was playing the more "up-to-date" Tankstyle of moving and taunting and attacking... except the Blaster was still taking aggro from me. Had taunt on auto on Rommy, and was hitting Whirling Mace, Crowd Control, Cleave, and a couple AoE temp powers I had.
My guess was it was just my bad chance of the last two ITFs I ran being with those evil aggro stealing Blaster(s). Plus, I think I forgot about the aggro cap (What is it these days? Still 16? Or did they up it?). Either way, I'm probably too used to my Scrapper being a mindless razorblade on steroids.
And I agree with Lach, sure Blasters might be running around with soft caps, regen caps, recovery caps and damage caps, but they're not going to herd together Rommy and his friends (Yes, the minotaurs as well) up on his pedestal and be the only one left standing when Rom rezzes and disorients everyone except myself. -
I agree with the hit point part, but the aggro part...well...
For some reason, in the ITF I was just on the soft capped Blaster (Fire/MM, not surprisingly), was constantly stealing my Rommy And Friends aggro, even though I was spamming Taunt. I mean, I didn't drop below 50% once during the TF, but I believe it was in part because my aggro kept getting taken off me. Even while using all my AoEs, with Invinc up, and taunt on auto.
I just dont get it. I guess it seems like anyone who's soft capped seems to take the spot of "Tank" on the team. -
Or are Tankers seeming more obselete?
With all these soft capped Blasters running around getting aggro and not getting touched, in my opinion I feel less useful on Task Forces.
Is it just me being used to the old way of things, or are the rest of the Tankers feeling the same way? -
Hmm...

The effects of i20, you say?
What could happen is...
The zombies we have been fearing for 40+ years in movies (or "talkies") will actually be more philosophical than all the Greek thinkers combined, stronger than Superman, quicker than the Flash on a sugar rush, angrier than the Hulk on a bad day, and hungrier than Galactus. This literal "Rise Of The Dead" will obviously create some problems in the Earth's ground, with the mass movement of dirt anywhere from 6 feet to God only knows how far down. Thus causing a fissure in the Earth's crust, causing molten rock to rise to the surface that shall create panic and a general "Oh Bleep!" mentality for the next couple hundred years. This molten rock will eventually cause the world's water supply to vanish, forcing humanity to retreat to Praetoria, where our speculations of "savages" and "madnessry" will all be mis-assumed, and we are outcast to the shores along Praetoria and swallowed by the Hamidon's angry hippie-wrath.
But, that's what could happen. For all I know, i20 could simply be another release by CoX and have no effect whatsoever on the general population of Earth.
Just remember... it's a possibility. -

It's creepier that way.
Bad guy 1 - "Oh, okay. he's just standing there. No cause for alarm"
You - "*Shroom!*"
Bad guy 2 - "Bill...? *cries*"
You - "*Shroom!*"
See? It's the element of SUPERprise.
