I love the market when common salvage sells for 100k because I know I'll be able to get drunk on the delicious tears of 'casual gamers' calling for price caps.

Mope-date!
I'll do a full update when he hits 35 with screens and everything, but here's a funny anecdote.
I figured I'd take him rogue, since he isn't really a villain or a hero, he's just a disaffected amoral teenager. So I ran a bunch of tip missions (which were a lot of fun, love the system, love the implementation, looking forward to future expansion). Ran the morality mission, got smeared by ENDLESS AMBUSHES and had to turn down my difficulty (ambushes totally ignoring stealth is my one remaining gripe about the stalker AT), then finished it....and realized when I read the 'reward' screen that the 50 merits he was sitting on would vanish into thin air.
I'd been planning on saving them all up and rolling at 50, but I didn't want to just throw them away.
So I reluctantly chose to stay villain, then ninja-flipped over to the merit vendor to cash in my bankroll.
The gods of the RNG smiled on my sacrifice- roll 1 was a Mako's Bite proc, roll 2 was (FINALLY!) one of the big ones, a Numina's +rec/+regen.
The first *really good* thing I've ever gotten from old timey TF rolls or merits.
The Mako's was worth a few mill, so I listed it low.
The Numina's at level 34 had 0 listed and a small pile of bidders, so following my Rule of Zero I posted it at a multiple of the last sale. It'll be interesting to see what I get for it, as there were only two previous sales in the history.
Tonight it's back to running tip missions to lay the ground for my alignment shift... -

there's no need for an elaborate Rube Goldberg naming system because the current one works just fine.

He then announced that a look into the games stats show that going good has been the overwhelmingly more popular stance than the reverse so far. -
Quote:A child after my own heart! My daughter started out with "I want to sit with you" and just watching the flashy colors on the screen.
Then it became "There's a bad guy! Fight him!"
"He's too low level."
"But he's taking that lady's purse!" (I fought him. Getting to missions took a while sometimes.)
To this day I can't pass a purse snatcher without laying waste, whatever level I am.
I'm looking forward to a time of better impulse control- he does like watching me play, but he can't resist grabbing the mouse and pounding on the keyboard. I think I'll try digging an old one out of the garage and giving it to him- he loves 'driving' the racing car grocery cart with the steering wheel when we go shopping, maybe I can apply the same theory to gaming... -

My concerns about inherent fitness:
Oh noes, what three fun powers will I take instead of swift, hurdle and stamina?
=P -
if you aren't hungry for huge profits I've found that you can basically pick an 'okay' set IO out of a hat (something useful but not super duper great), buy up recipes really cheap, buy up salvage really cheap, craft 'em and sell the result for a quick million in profit.
I've done this with enough different recipes to vouch for its effectiveness. And as noted, traditional choices like Thunderstrike and Doctored Wounds are perennial. I've also had great success with the 'off brand' defense sets- Red Fortune specifically, but also Serendipity & Kismet.
If you're happy with a million or so profit per slot with pretty quick turnover, there are a LOT of niches out there that would satisfy. -
Quote:it's probably too late for me to get dibs on the whole billion, isn't it?So I'm willing to put about a billion inf into inf-to-prestige matching again.
Here's how it works, if you're new to this:
You send me a PM here or a tell to @Boltcutter. Let me know what your global is, which side, what server, how much you want me to match, and [important!] when you play.
( I'm @Boltcutter in game. )

Quote:Odd, I don't remember ragequitting.Let's not forget the huge screaming hordes...well, throngs, at least...okay, the isolated and somewhat small group of self-righteously indignant and morally superior former players who LOUDLY ragequit over being forced to endure advertising in a game they were paying for!
The stupidity of the entire program was apparent from day one and has been borne out by its current state of abandonment. -
stay classy, Coming Storm.
I've forgotten why you're on my ignore list, but this thread fully justifies your position. -

I'd add one cogent point:
KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT
The main failing of the target of your ire was a near total lack of understanding regarding the topic of his "review". -
Quote:I have a sneaking suspicion they might leave the Fitness pool in, allowing UBER-SUPER-MAX levels of recovery to those willing to make the investment...Well, I'm happy enough about the Fitness becoming Inherent issue, however, I do wonder if the Pool will be replaced with a new 10th Pool.
If it is a Pool of "good out of the box" powers, that might resolve this whole issue.

Quote:Fulmens' commandment If You Didn't Leave A Bid Up for 24 Hours You Didn't Actually Try To Buy Anything needs to be there.
I like the idea of market commandments engraved in stone. What else should be on there? Something about patience, certainly.
Hmm, what else... -
Quote:most of my characters have a few powers they rarely if ever use. Nearly all of them have something I didn't really want, only 'none of the above' isn't a valid power choice.A power should be taken for what it is meant to be .... not as an unused power to hold a bonus.
Swapping these sorts of powers for others that I'll rarely if ever use but which can deliver a powerful global bonus is a pretty obvious move.
I mean it'd be great if all powers were equally useful and desirable, but they aren't. It'll be nice to get *something* out of those afterthought power choices. -

Yes, please!
I yearn for the good old days of someone pulling the entire zone in Perez Park and nuking them!

I haven't been paying attention to purples, but I've made a gigantic killing on PvP IO's I picked up at the 'going rate' just before the merger.

Quote:anything you could ever want to know is right here on the forums....which goes to show my point about how difficult it is to find information about the game.
I'm not sure doing a review of something you don't have a very good understanding of is the best use of your time.
