There is also some potential for the "zone glowy" tech. It would probably need to be "instanced" though, just to pre-emptively avoid the flamewars over "zowie-stealing," and in random locations so you can't find them just by getting the latest Vidiotmaps patch. And they don't show up on the minimap, so you'll only find them by walking by them. They could hand out "invisible badges," so when you get the "invisible accolade" you unlock something. Or they could work like Goat's badge idea.
I'd be down for something like that in the game world. -

There was a lot of excitement when npc costumes were originally mentioned to be coming to us, and now the stipulations are coming out. I was already disappointed at what we got for Paragon Police pieces, I really wanted the uniform and the combo chest/shoulder piece with a badge in it. The first thing I look for in each expansion/issue (and many others, I'm sure) are the costume pieces. Any issue without them is a disappointment to me, we only get the auras as a concession due to them leaking out early.

totally off the cuff idea- make badge markers something you interact with, so the 'you've got badge' announcement would also be a cue to click on it to some gameplay end, collecting it's 'drop', or unlocking a 'badge tip' mission with a story tied in to the badge.

my only stalker is a katana/willpower, and he's quite survivable. If things get hairy I stack Divine Avalanche on his existing defense, he's got some okay resists and a heal for emergencies. And he's only slotted with generics, if I ventured into set IOs he'd be quite a bit harder.

They wanted more rares available, so they made them easy to buy with a-merits.
As they didn't make purples and PvP IOs easy to buy, the obvious conclusion is they didn't want them to be more available. They wanted another way for players to earn them without undermining their current scarcity.

I'm still fiddling with his look a bit, but I'm happy with the way it's shaping up.
Strangely I'm even having fun playing him- I made a tank because I usually hate playing them, so I'd be less tempted to go wandering away from the market. But he keeps getting team invites when I have a little spare time. He's pretty fun on a big team, especially the one where we had two FF defenders. =D
Here's an example of people just not caring what they pay.
All of these were listed at a bit over 50k.
So, yeah. A lot of people have a lot of inf. =P -

they're playing City of Heroes, not City of Feebs.
It isn't reasonable that someone can justify shooting fire from their hands but really, really, really has a problem with being able to do it *slightly more efficiently* because they've been given inherent Stamina.
If you don't like it, don't slot it. if you want to approximate not having it at all, slot heavily for recharge and ignore endredux.
