in a nutshell slot lvl 50 purples and lvl 50 PvP IOs slot lvl 50 regular IOs. Next slot lvl 33 IOs not nessisarily for procs. this way you will get all the benifits in SC. Just dont roll a gimped toon.

ur build will be a good zone team PvPer at best with good slotting and power selection. The two good powers you have are darkest night and twilight grasp. The other powers aside from ur attack chain are situational. slot up shadow fall for resistance. get the fitness, jumping, leadership (and get vengeance), and concealment for phaseshift. and get psi mastery for dominate and slot it up for acc dmg and hold and and then get and slot up torrent for a good amount of acc. also get TK and slot up Mind over body with resistance. For this build to work u need good IOs and lots of +recharge, +acc, +tohit, +regen, +HP bonuses. and def get ur HP accolades to.
after all that, this is what you do in RV. jump around and annoy people by placing TK on one guy and Darkest night on another guy. when they come attack you try to stay alive and near ur team use ur heal often and phase if you need to. when ur team sees you getting attacked they will hopfully spike the guys attacking u. while you are jumping around lay down tar patch and jump around and over tar patch, if they touch the patch they'll loose roughly 30% resistance. this is u being the ghetto tank of the zone team.
Next up for offence u are now the ghetto controller. here's what you do. when the target caller calls the baddy, jump at the bad guy and throw out a dominate (or if you at lower levels a petrifying gaze) and right after ur hold unleash ur torrent. this will knock the guy down so that ur team can spike the target. after he gets knocked down you can lay down tar patch right under him so when he gets up he's either forced to Phase or use 2 sec to get out of the patch. all together you made the called target stay in one place for at least 5 sec maybe even 8 sec plenty of time for a couple psi blasters to kill him. if there are no enemies around maybe you can add some damage after you laid down dominate, torrent, tar patch. -
if ur just doing PvE u can go with ice epic for the cone slow and AoE.

Inv/SS or Fire Tank
Fire/EM blaster
Earth Fire or Ice/Rad troller
SS/Inv brute
Fire/Psi dom
Fire or Rad/Rad Corruptor -
Ice/storm/ice is a nice choice and you won't be gimped... well at least in 90% of the situations you will face. With hibernate, slows, -tohit, 10% elusivity, and end drains, you should be a pretty tough troller to kill. If your opponents stay in ur lightning storm, hurrican, freezing rain, and shiver ur dmg would be very good and the other guy will run out of end while being slowed. To get all the above takes some skill and practice. One more thing, Ice/Storm is very very end intensive at least prior to set IOs, you'll need to get top end IOs that give some +recov. P.S One of the original members of THE original PvP SG first started out with Ice/Storm.
Superior Invis works just like regular Invis except you can attack out of it and it caps your stealth for your AT so you can't get any more stealthy than sup invis or group invis. These powers are nice for escapes mostly and would be good for surprise attacks on newer players. Decieve and other confuse powers used to be broken in i12 and were practically the i win button. Now they last about 3 sec to 8 sec depending on how you slot them, what other powers you used them with, and if the player you used them on have confuse resistance powers on. It would seem that you can buy yourself a lot of time with confuse, but against a good player, confuse powers would only stall the situation. Versus an average player its a decent power. Also watch out for its very long animation time... in a zone full of stalkers and brutes, 80% of your HP might be gone after you used decieve. -
why does /cold make it on the list? im j/k btw /cold is still good but imo rad might be better in i14.

I just am not turned on by Mind Control lol.

In Russia, Mind Control turns you on!

Actually I think he would have said "In Russia, Mind control turns on you!"
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, this is correct.
ANYWAY lol...
Thoughts....
Gravity = Two single target attacks. The question mark is if Singy is good enough for solo pvp.
Ice = I will take Ice Blast from EPP. JF seems like he would be decent for pvp (I really like the concept of Ice/Storm/Ice, but I do not want to be gimp).
Plant = I have no clue.
Has anybody pvp'd with either of these three primaries.
Let's say all three are XXXX/STORM/ICE for ease of comparison. I have never done /Storm so I really want to try it.

as a PvP troller, its not really what ur primary that matters the most its usually ur secondary that has the most impact. Rad and Therm perform the best for solo trollers. And believe it or not Emps can do well solo as well.
Plant: not alot of damage but does well vs melee types. pairs well with emp, therm, or storm.
Mind: offers excellent single target controll and works very well with teams. Pairs well with rad, emp, storm
Ice: not a lot of front loaded dmg but the slow will give you the advantage over a variety of opponents. pairs well with storm or rad
Illusion: great dmg if the player ur facing stays in the general area faster animations gets u out of trouble. Pairs well with storm, rad, FF, and especially Emp
Grav: overall a great single target and general purpose controll set with decent DPS if slotted right, but this set requires a lot of know how and experience to get the full potential out. Pairs well with Rad, FF, and Kin (though Kin is not a good secondary).
Fire: great dmg if the player ur facing stays in the general area faster animations gets u out of trouble. Pairs well with storm, rad, FF
Earth: decent dmg with a nice -def secondary effect in the attacks offers alot of controll. Pairs well with thermal and rad
from the looks of things i would recomend a grav/rad or earth/therm as a solo pvp troller for you from what i can tell posted above GLHF -

looking forward to i17 -
well if you do decide to come to Freedom, there is a waiver that you sign that explains how you must only PvE for farming and badge hunting purposes. The PvP zones are populated from 5pm to 10pm pst GLHF.

twoshot has become a fight clubber now... conflict's behavior would now agro the entire zone.
-
Yes! come to RV and play with us stop the SC madness
-
Inv/EM cause the animations look better.
-
oh ok yeah i guess i should have been more specific in the first place, but i was just answering the OPs questions and then you two started to discuss other more elaborate scenarios. Thanks for clarifying though.

PvP IOS work just like purples. They exemp with you all the way down to level 1 even if the IO's are level 50's.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really!? Didnt know that! Awesome!
[/ QUOTE ]
hmmm maybe this is why these PvEers are getting crazy over the PvP IOs however does this mean that the set bonuses they provide exempt all the way as well? -

This:
"Taunt + KOB + Hurl + Healing Flames and repeat. U will eventually win unless he's a /MM blaster if he runs or phases let him.. he'll be back and he'll eventually slip up."
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, sure, if you're fighting a "solo" Hero squishy, that may work with enough repeats, but that's not the scenario you were pointing out now is it? If you were doing this in YOUR scenario, you're having to face 3-5 heroes at once, and your little trick isn't going to work as well as you claim.

I believe what Crazyjersey is trying to say is that you are taking things out of context. If there is a 2 or more versus 1 situation, the situation immediately gives the advantage to the side with the higher numbers no matter which AT your talking about. It's also true that if brutes were to only consentrate on defending and evading, he can withstand more and live longer to stall for time because his secondary was designed for that.
There seems to be a missconception with Tanks and Brutes where people think they can fight and win against multiple 'squishier' opponents and come out winning. If this were the case there would be no need for other ATs in PvP. Tanks and Brute simply stall for time and disrupt the opponents movements so that their team can do their job. Like you said they will not survive a team of blasters attacking them. BTW that quote up there is mine not Jersey's. -

I went down to SC and it was like "ZoMg!!! who's popping!?!?!"
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL.
Do you have a controller of the same name? I think I fought you a couple times.

yes my troller is a dying breed from issues past, but at least now i can drop a few flyers here and there ;P otherwise you flying people would have free kills all the time. -

Spasms right Purples are still better for that one power but slot the rest of ur powers up with pvP IOs this maximizes the set bonuses and dmg output.

Type R is short for Type Racing Specification. This is usually found in the automotive world. The "R" can be found on Hondas, Nissans, Audis, etc. Type S refers to the Type Sport. So yes Type R stuff (and people) are higher powered and more effective at what they do.

If ur just doing zones regen might be the choice for you and with that in mind u might do well paired with spines. WP is great on teams and in the arena and atm elec has the best burst dmg... though idk if this is intended so that might get nerfed than again you can always go with EM. EA is also good for arena mostly but that build requires a lot more infamy and a teammate that can provide you with alot of +recharge.

if you going up against a melee type i would suggest a /psi dom with drain psyche. This is one of the only villain power sets that guaranties its kills if played right, however, unlike all the button mashing and HP having ways of today's PvP, this build takes some skill and practice to play. If you can hold than land drain psyche on the scrapper, kite him for 30 sec and hit him with another drain psyche, you will have him dead in less than a minute unless he has a lot of catch of breaths. All the other builds kinda require a solid team to kill decent players. GLHF
