/EM already has looooong dry patches in your attack chain while you wait for Build Up - Energy Transfer - Total Focus to be ready once more. You tend to flail around ineffectually with the lesser attacks, but since so much of the damage in the set has been offloaded into the last two, they tend to be quite inefficient. On top of that, you're Stone Armor, very endurance inefficient outside of Granite, and in Granite it's mostly a matter of forced savings.
I'd just take Conserve Power and concentrate on taking enough attacks from your secondary that you have an adequate filler chain in Granite that at least gives you a button to push every now and then while you're waiting.

See this is remains one of the big problems with CoH ... accidentally stepping into a really clunky build.
Timeshadow: EM gets very slow animation wise (Whirling Hands (your AOE), Energy Transfer and Total Focus (your two big hitters) and Granite Armor (Stone's god-mode which will have you removing all your other Stone Armor toggles off your power tray) gives you -recharge as a penalty for god-mode.
Heraclea's suggestion is about the best (or lesser) of the evils of this particular combo.
Then again watching a Stoner in Granite perform Total Focus would probably be fairly awe inspiring (even if it is on the same time scale as Haley's comet).
Thanks for your replies guys. I was well aware of the clunkiness involved with a Stone/EM. My final IO'd build is set to counteract the penalties as much as possible. Anything else I need to know?
if ur just doing PvE u can go with ice epic for the cone slow and AoE.
Hey all. I recently rolled a Stone/EM and am having a bunch of fun so far. She's only level 8 but the protection is good and EM adds enough damage to keep me happy. But I'm wondering which APP I should choose when she's at the appropriate level. I'm torn between Energy and Earth Mastery.
I'm familiar with Energy (Used it on my Scrapper for a while). Conserve Power and Focused Accuracy seem like they'd be nice but the set doesn't seem to offer much in terms of its attacks. Earth Mastery has lots of nice stuff like Quicksand and Stone Prison but lacks in direct attacks. So which one should I choose? I'd appreciate any help.
SIDE NOTE: I'm between the two for concept reasons but I'd be willing to pick something else entirely if a convincing argument can be made. Thanks again.
