Okay, I don't come around and start a thread specifically to complain about something very often, but on occasion something crawls into and bites my nether-regions. Such a situation has presented itself to me, and has caused me to forcefully remove my hair on several occasions.
Overwhelming Ambushes of Doooooooommmmm!: Let me start by saying that I don't necessarily have a problem with them; fending off a dozen waves of baddies at once can be fun, and I've had myself quite a good time doing so on several occasions. However, if there are any devs reading this, please don't have such ambushes spawn on top of you when you have to escort a killable, and therefore stupidly courageous, NPC to the door. And if you do, because you want it to be tough, please, for the love of all that is holy, please let the mission fail when the NPC dies.
The perfect example of this is the "Beethoven's 5th Symphony" alignment mission, hero side. I free the Longbow captive, and am immediately jumped by hundreds of Arachnos. This is awesome, and lots of fun, but 15 minutes later, when the smoke clears, the Longbow agent is nowhere to be found, and I check the logs and sure enough, she died somewhere early in the fight, but now there's nothing I can do about the mission other than reset it and try again. Why couldn't it just fail like most of the other missions that have a hostage that dies?
Anyone else bothered by this, or am I just crazy? -

Yeah, I doubt the RMTers have any real impact on the prices. I actually kinda like the prices of the common stuff getting so absurd; it gives me leave to go farm some tickets from the architect, and make bank flooding the market with common salvage and crafted IOs, listing them for 1 inf each. Drives the prices down and gets me serious money at the same time, it's a win/win!

I loved the old My Little Pony (and yes, I'm a guy) way back in the day as a kid, and I would love to give this a chance but that art style really makes me want to stab something in the face...

Can't happen. If those three were in the same conversation, a singularity of awesome would form, which would force the universe to collapse on itself, thus destroying all that is and ever was. So the universe will actively prevent that from ever happening. Entire continents or planets might explode just to stop it.

As an enormous fan of bad movies, and an enormous fanboi of Felicia Day, I'm really looking forward to this movie, especially after seeing the clip.

And by referencing one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in an otherwise great movie, you automagically lose. If you'd said that you take a weird cellophane "S" off of your costume and fling it at one of the muggers, you would have retroactively lost every argument you'd ever made, and pre-lost every argument you would ever go on to make in the future.

this is the dumbest thread that I've read the entirety of in a while

I try not to poopoo on any power sets, but I find that energy melee is underwhelming on a tank. If you need it for the flavor and aren't happy with super strength, then by all means go for it, but you're not going to get the same numbers out of it that you will with super strength, and the slight extra utility with the stunning isn't really enough to be worthwhile, especially with electric armor. Plus the knock up and knock down that SS has will keep the baddies in your damage aura, while it's really annoying when stunned mobs wander away...
Really, if you have a damage aura, SS is pretty much superior to EM for that last reason alone, imo. But, as always, ymmv.
Edit: Also, you should know that my favorite part of an electric armor tank: Farming Malta. -
Eat better and/or exercise more. That's it, really. Anything else and I will laugh at you when suffer from the potentially devastating side-effects that are sure to come from completely ignoring your body's nutritional needs for the sake of being lazy.
Seriously, I will laugh at heart attacks, strokes, and chronic explosive diarrhea; I've done it before... -

This movie is what a vampire romance should be like. Take notes, Mormon housewives...

I have quit a TF exactly once. It was a LGTF, and the team leader threatened to kick people if we didn't do it right. I immediately told him I don't work for tyrants unless they're named "Cole" and left.

I would rule the Earth with an iron fist. Those who were detrimental to society would be removed from it and there would be no prison. Punishments would be swift and brutal, but fair, and the world would enter utopia.
In other words: Villain. -
Quote:That...I want the last scene of Smallville to be Clark walking down the street, seeing a crime...ducking into a telephone booth...starting to unbutton his shirt...then Lana pops out of nowhere, does some magic, superspy karate stuff and stops the crime, then winks at clark. Clark grins back at her goofily as they play a Lifehouse song...series ends.
Just to piss everyone off.
That would be AWESOME! -

I'm a fan of ironic marketing tactics

Dooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmm!!!
I also heard they're merging the servers, going free to play, and re-skinning everything to have McDonald's ads on every costume piece...
Oh, and when you buy the game they go over to your house and kick your puppy -
Yeah, I haven't seen this kind of action since pre-ED days

Quote:I was largely agreeing with you before this post. Not completely, mind you, but at least a little.Trust me, I've been playing games where the devs pulled a Planetside, and massive amounts of players just disappeared. City of Heroes hasn't seen anything like that.
But I make it a point never to trust people who start any sentence with "Trust me..."
What I believe is that even if all of the hardkoar peeveepee'rz did leave this game, I really don't miss them, and this game has probably reached the point where it will continue rolling until NCSoft decides to shut it down of their own free will. It's not going to be financial instability that kills the game, probably ever.
In 1000 years, there might still be a CoH. After all, EverQuest is still live.
Completely unrelated sidenote: I'm very amused that my reputation has changed colors like a dozen times in the last week. -
Quote:No great loss. If it were for this game, then yeah, I could see some problems. But for The Mighty Blizzard, there's enough of a pool of people to pull from that there would still be plenty of forum posters left after most leave. If 1% of the constructive people stay and 1% of the jerks stay, you'd end up with something much like the boards we have here, which is a good thing to aim for if you ask me.That's not the only thing. It will also make some people refuse to participate in that environment. And it won't be the jerks.
And the constructive jerks, like me, will stay here no matter what, since we just don't care
