  1. I use Microsoft Movie Maker, but other more experienced editors probably use something better.

    Sooooooo? How did it go???

    Yeah, come on, DR!

    Dish!

    For the Halloween event.

    Even better...

Thriller is good... but with Oingo Boingo we have more options.

    Speed up time?

How long is the shot expected to run?

This may take some work, but how about...

Record your shot, dumping screenshots... Adjust the time a tic and repeat (ad nauseum) until you get the last frame of your shot. Grab a successive frame from each dump and stitch them together..

It is potentially very tedious, but it should give you the effect you are looking for.

It's an idea I have for a shot I'd like to try... Seems like it should work...

one other thing of note, the Self destruct does NOT work with NPCs. Well at least with the NPCs of the Longbow Mech, the Malta Titan, The Nemesis Warhulk, the Vangaurd HVAS or the Nemesis model.

    Does it work with 'puddle'?
  6. Have you considered trying to use demorecord to capture your video?

Then you can replay it without all of the extra windows/numbers/chat bubbles popping up around you.

Check out Zloth's demo launcher... That's good stuff.

    Good luck!

This makes me wish I were popular enough to have made the cut :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, well you've got more of a chance than I do... My popularity is dwarfed by,,, well, just about everything.

Another very nice piece, btw.. I always like Graver's use of watercolor.

    My Hero Portrait

Very nice.. I wish I had the funds to have one of these done...

She must be very cold, though.
  9. The demoedit tool was developed by Cryptic when they made the game... So I would say, no... It's POSSIBLE that STO will have demoedit incorporated into it, since it is also developed by Cryptic, but that is up to them.

NCSoft doesn't develop, it publishes. Now, it's possible - or even probable - that other games have some form of demoedit available to them, but it's highly unlikely that they are in any way cross-compatible, if that's what you are asking.
  10. I use a program called Wallpaperchanger, I got it from download.com

Just checked on it, here is the website of the guy that developed it - http://www.wallpaperchanger.de/

It hasn't been changed since 2001, but I still run it without problems on my XP system. Every time I do a rebuild I make sure it gets reinstalled. I've got dozens of screenshots from the game that I cycle through for my desktop. I have it set to change every time I load Windows, but you can also set it to load a new random image every so often, or even not change at all. I'm very happy with it. It's very simple and straightforward.
  11. Oh boy...

The Memory of Trees - by Enya as performed by The Taliesin Orchestra, mainly just a video postcard of Paragon City. It would be my first video and would be very simply made.

Like A Rock - Bob Seger, my tribute to tankers.

Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young - Fire Inc. off of the Streets of Fire soundtrack.

Hot Hot Hot - Buster Poindexter, a party video.

Fire On High - ELO, a great rock instrumental.

Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are - Meatloaf, an angst filled 10-minute epic... Very daunting.

I Believe in Father Christmas - Emerson, Lake and Palmer, showing a hero that loses faith, then regains it.

More on the fringe... I'd like to get these done some day.
  12. Wow.... Very cool.

In an effort to constructively criticize, the only thing that I really notice is that her expression seems a little... well.. plastic, at least as compared to some of your previous work - for example, Crimson Storm.

That being said, it is still a beautiful piece, and still have to pick my jaw up off the ground.

You can use Windows Movie Maker and just encode them into a lower resolution/different format.

To follow up on the question... What is the "best" encoding to use for uploading to Youtube/Google Video/(insert video hosting here)?

Glad to see you back Gil!

Hope all is ok now with the family.

Edit: BTW, the art looks as awesome as ever. Imitation looks particularly nice.
  15. <QR>

    How about Boomtown?

I mean.. that had to rattle a few dishes when that went off...
  16. <QR>

Hope your hand is ok... I know what it's like to break up a fight between cohabitating dogs....

.... Try it with a couple Rottweilers.

Seriously, though, if it's just a scratch, you should be ok (I'm not a doctor, take that as you will ), but if it is pretty deep, you may need to get a shot. They say it's better to be bitten by a dog than a person... But it's still not necessarily good to be bitten by a dog... Obviously!

Take care, and best of luck on a quick heal.
  17. <QR>

Not sure if this would work for you, but how about this...

Film your fade-out scene twice, once with the character that fades out - without deleting - and then once without the fade-out character in the scene.

Then splice the two scenes together, with a cross-fade from the scene with to the scene without when the character fades.

    Um... just for clarification...

Gill's posted response on his website is that he lost all his customer's emails and will be getting back to them shortly because his email database was "lost." I put quotes because I'm not sure if it was corrupted, the computer broke, etc...

So he had no one's emails.

Now he's sent out a mass email of everyone on his list or just the people that contacted him?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I never had any contact with him, just registered at his site, and I received the Reboot mailer.
  19. I feel your pain..

I have ideas for about a dozen videos... My problem is that I have VERY specific visuals I want to create for them. What's really frustrating is that I know that - the way I picture them - it could be done in the game engine.

I am just sorely lacking in the patience necessary to finish a video.

All the more impressive the work I see of yours and others that can manage to keep focus long enough to complete a project.

  21. Using the camdist command will allow you to back out to 200 'units', with the max allowable distance by scrolling out being 100 'units'.
  22. Another beautiful piece, DJ.

I gotta agree with BaB, though... After all, it looks like the back portion of her 'skirt'/loincloth/whatever, actually seems to wrap around the outside of her left leg.

    Does GW go commando?

    Bluescreen info

ummm.. I don't suppose you have some coordinates to find it easier?

    Thanks!
