Speed up time?
OK... This may all be moot. The moon isn't moving at all in my playback. Is that a known bug or have I stumbled across something new? Or is it just me (video card, video settings, etc.)?
Time does not move in CoX in a demo playback. You can stand there for HOURS and you'll SEE the sun/moon move, but when you play it back, it stands still.
The only way to get movement of the sun/moon is to turn off all the HUD, and use FRAPS (or some other program) to record IN-GAME while it's setting/rising/whatever.
(Trust me on this one - I had to do it myself for a video I'm working on - and standing in one place in Bloody Bay shooting the sun going down screams TARGET!!!!)

I'm not sure if Fraps will do it, but the one I use, ZDSoft, will let you set the recording fps. Set it to 1 and you get some good timelapse without the huge file....
FRAPS lets you do it, too.

If people are killing you to much roll up an Ill/FF. With Sup Invis youll be hard to find, and if anyone does find you youre in PFF/Dispersion.
Surprisingly enough, when I film on Triumph, enough of the PvPers there know me by now that when I say I'm in the zone to film, I get a flood of tells for volunteers.
I just had to ask them to please not fly in front of me.

Well, if I can't get the sun & moon to move, that that idea is a bust...
Thanks.
How long is the shot expected to run?
This may take some work, but how about...
Record your shot, dumping screenshots... Adjust the time a tic and repeat (ad nauseum) until you get the last frame of your shot. Grab a successive frame from each dump and stitch them together..
It is potentially very tedious, but it should give you the effect you are looking for.
It's an idea I have for a shot I'd like to try... Seems like it should work...
Test Subject 42 - lvl 50 Sp/DA Scrapper
Oku No Te - lvl 50 MA/SR Scrapper
Borg Master - lvl 24 Bots/traps MM
Pinnacle
Nyghtfyre - lvl 50 DM/SR Scrapper
Champion
Hmmmm, that might work. I actually want to show several days wizzing by, but since the toon is standing still, I can just do one day/night sequence and repeat it. I'll experiment with the time increment and see if I can get it to look halfway smooth.
Thanks!
Hmm, I might tweak Mutant_Mike's idea a bit and just do all of that in-game. Rather than going back and forth into the client, you could just sit in one spot in the game and take a screenshot at intervals of 10 seconds or whatever. As long as it's not a shot that requires a demoedit then it should work.
Of course there's downsides to this, like if you happen to bump into the wrong key and move the camera... but hey, I never said it was a perfect solution .
I'm afraid that I already know the answer to this one, but I have to ask just in case...
Is there any way to speed up the playback of demo with respect to game-time-of-day? In other words, can I make the sun/moon track through the sky faster?
I'm trying to do a time-lapsed effect, with time wizzing by while the character stands still. I know I can do it by speeding up the clip in my video editor, but I'd rather avoid creating that 30+ minute video to start with.
Any thoughts?
