Oh, I forgot, let me go ahead and troll my own post before the the trolls get to it....

    No

    It's a free market.

Some random strawman argument using a different product to illustrate a point about the CoH market

For those of you who are not actually trolls, I would love to hear from you on this.

[/ QUOTE ] You lost all of your credibility here.
  2. /unsigned, the reasons have been mentioned multiple times. We should add more servers.

Listen [censored]. It's convenient to the playerbase. These MFing Cryptic MFers made an architect system. Can they not make a mailbox? Look.

ROFL! Oh God my sides are hurting!

You do realize you are cussed out the only person that voiced support for your suggestion . . . right?

    Munkilord said this:

    [ QUOTE ]
You can trade more than 9,999,999 at a time. Other than that, I agree completely. I would be happy if it was limited to only being able to transfer stuff to your account(leaving out friends, etc).

People already transfer stuff to their alts, why not make it more secure? Some will claim just because people already do it, that isn't enough reason. OK, I can buy that. But why not? How does it harm ANYBODY ELSE for me to be able to move an enhancement(or influence or recipe) from one of my characters to another one of my characters? In fact, other than me jumping through less hoops, what difference is there at all? Tell me that. How does it hurt anybody else? How?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just some friendly advice, you aren't going to get much support if you go around calling the people who are agreeing with you [censored]'s

It is however a great way to get your post locked or even deleted. Then your idea will fade away into obscurity never to be seen again.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm lost, who did I call an [censored] that is agreeing with me? Also, the 'L' is capital is MunkiLord.

    We need a mailbox, stat!

For transferring inf., salvage, enhancements, tickets, etc. to characters on your own account or other characters and friends ingame. It's rediculous having to trust someone else you may not know with your stuff. And it sucks when you play solo a lot. You ain't got time to do all the arrangements for 9,999,999 one trade at a time to some stranger just to hope and pray he doesn't take your lo0tz.

Ok. For all of you who want to "email ingame items to myself", I give you a challenge.

Come up with a VALID reason as to WHY you should be allowed to mail emails to myself by following these rules:

    (1) Refrain from using OTHER MMOs as a source of reference.

    (2) The reason(s) MUST be in paragraph form. None of the following will be allowed:
    (a) Because it would be cool.
    (b) Because we need it.
    (c) Because I'm bored.
    (Invalid reasons)

    (3) Spell check and sentence structure is important. (Remember you're trying to convince the majority of players WHY this feature is needed. Please, sound out the word(s) before you type them.)

    (4) Your statements MUST be based on FACT and NOT the rantings of a 5 year old that just wants and wants and wants.

    (5) Your reason(s) must FIX the issues rather than create new ones

[/ QUOTE ] Somebody didn't like my original post on this statement(it was a little harsh) I'll rephrase the entire thing this way: The post I'm quoting is stupid. It's a moron's challenge. And ANYBODY that believes the quoted material is a good point is an idiot.

I will read the threads the Search tool recommends.

I will not ignore the Search tool.

    The Search tool is God.

If this ever happens again, the Search tool will come to my house and rip my lungs out.

    Praise the Search tool!

Blessed are we who use the Search tool.

[/ QUOTE ] I'll put it this way: If you were to write this response down on paper, it wouldn't be good enough to wipe my [censored] with. I mean it, responses like this are, without a doubt, the stupidest and most worthless things you can do while on the internet. Yes, the entire internet.

to the OP: Very well written, but I'll have to unsign for all the reasons already mentioned.

Common and Uncommon Salvage both took supply hits too.

I have an issue with that.

  14. /unsigned. I don't feel its a problem, therefore no need to fix it.
  15. I would agree to this is we could remain anonymous. It's not that I'm afraid to explain myself, but it's my opinion that as a consumer of the author's product I don't owe him/her an explanation.

Now I realize many will disagree with me, and that's fine. I'll go with the idea that the author is owed an explanation. I don't have a problem leaving comments, but 99.99999% of the time I don't want to have a conversation with the person about it. If I tell the person I felt the writing bad, I don't want to deal with a person bugging me because I hurt their feelings or pissed them off. Chances are if I get an angry tell I'm likely to just tell the person to [censored] off, and that can get me in trouble. Sure, I could just be more civil. But I don't see that happening.

And if I did want to have a conversation about the arc, I would make an effort to contact the author and start one. Some arcs, no matter how hard the author worked on them, just plain suck and the words just don't exist to describe how bad they are. Think of Batman & Robin movie, but with shittier writing.
  16. /signed, I like this idea a lot. It could help lower the impact of the first few votes. I think a number like 15 would be better though.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Then you don't know how few tickets 10K is. I earn 5K per mish, and there are many that do. I'd have a build fully slotted with purples in a matter of days, the Devs did not intend this. (Yes, you CAN purchase them off the market, but that requires millions and millions of influence that you've already got to have, so there is still a barrier to acquisition).

With the projected ratio of Purples to Rare drops being estimated at 6:1, going from 4K to 10K tickets is so completely disproportional it's laughable..not to mention the 9999 cap we currently have (in place to discourage hoarding and abuse of the system).

Either you're already grinding tickets and know how easy it would be at 10K or you can't earn Purples on your own and want the market prices to drop as supply increase.

The POINT of Purples is that NOT everyone has them or will have them, but that they are available..if you're playing for Purples for no other reason..you're missing the point.

[/ QUOTE ]Just what are you running thats earning you 5k per mission. If you dont want to post it here send me a pm. I have to see this to believe it. the most I ever got was almost 3k per mission.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, that is quite a number. Best I've done is 5,500 per hour.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
    (QR)

I like the rating system the way it is. I find it useful. If I'm scrunching up my nose within the first mission and going "Ick," I want to be able to quit and rate it. I don't think it's my responsibility as a player to suffer through an unfun experience in order to provide feedback, of which rating is a type. "So bad I didn't want to complete it" seems like a fine reason to one-star something.

[/ QUOTE ] Every single letter you typed in this post is 100% true.
  19. Ex I wish you the best of luck on all your future endeavors.
  20. /unsigned

It doesn't take an entire arc to know if you're doing something fun or not.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
The Devs could never guarantee the security of such a transfer (which would be ripe for abuse). So they'll probably never do it.

[/ QUOTE ] Point taken. I was misunderstanding you. With that, I change my mind. You were right, this time
  22. [ QUOTE ]
But just so long as you're careful about it you should be okay. You can watch your kid playing with matches to keep him from setting fire to the neighbor's cat.

    Prudence. =-3

[/ QUOTE ] No, letting a child play with matches is flat out stupid, supervised or not. There is no reason for it, ever. People that let their children play with matches should not have kids. Keep in mind I'm not talking about teaching a kid how to go camping and start a fire like one would learn in Boy Scouts, there is a difference.

    [ QUOTE ]
This just isn't a good idea because of the lack of guaranteed security in it.

[/ QUOTE ] No such thing. It is impossible.
  23. I don't actually have a problem with the concept, it seems reasonable. I would prefer some influence gain, maybe 10% or so of what you would normally make. After all, it does cost influence to list all those wonderful drops.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
I didn't say it had to be, I said usually. And I'm right. Fear is a bad reason not to do something. It's how people that are weak act.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Call it fear if you like, but others call it prudence. I don't let my child play with matches and lighters. Most wouldn't call me overly fearful, it's simply prudent not to.

[/ QUOTE ] Well you definitely perverted what I was trying to say, good job on that. There is a difference between common sense and what I'm talking about.

For example, refusing to use the internet because your personal info might be stolen is ignorance. If you pay attention to what you are doing the chances of that happening are extremely small. Letting your kid play with matches would be so stupid that you would probably go to jail if anything bad happened. I'm sure you can understand the difference.
  25. This was a bad idea the first time it was posted.

This was a bad idea the last time it was posted.

This is still a bad idea.

It will continue to be a bad idea.

Farming throws off the market. It exploits a very small amount of content with low risk/high reward ratio. It annoys people who don't farm or dislike the idea of it when they get tells asking to farm or pad or bridge.

Farming is not suggested by the Devs. Farming is not a well liked practice and, for that reason, the Devs have consistently altered the way things are handled to -avoid- farming.

Asking the Devs to put something in the game solely for the purpose of farming when they have time and again shown that they don't condone the act is a waste of time. I'll be bookmarking this response to copy-paste to all further farming threads.
