    XP Debt at 50?

Is this a recent toon to hit lvl 50? I remember my last toon had full patrol xp when it was lvl 49 as I let it sit before finally doing the push to 50. When I dinged 50, there was still some patrol xp bars left that didn't disappear.
  2. Others have already given you sound advice and I agree with them.

Do not give up on it till you get AAO + Rage + Shield Charge + Foot Stomp. These 4 powers will define your hero (or brute).

AOE potential comes late to SS in Foot Stomp, but you will find you will regularly get off 2-3 or more FS to every Shield Charge. That is the beauty of FS and why Super Strength is good on AOE damage.

I play my SHield/ SS fairly often but there is one thing I will not do with it-- exemplar below lvl 26 because that's when Shield Charge becomes available.

OH, Shield Defense actual defense #'s are lacking till you can slot SOs at which point it becomes average. It's only when you start slotting IOs for set bonuses and special enhancements that bring it to godliness.

    120 seconds of BU:
<ul type="square">[*]~14 seconds of rooted animation, 0 damage, 0 control, 0 temp powers activated for full damage with a generous 20% toHit buff from stacked *cough* Rage.[*]52 total endurance[/list]
    [/ QUOTE ]

Just pointing out a few things:
    1) BU does not cause you to be rooted. You can move around and activate it without stopping.
    2) Damage Auras will continue to pump out damage as you activate BU and are the first to feel its effects.
    3) You can reduce the endurance cost of 110 secs of BU below the cost of activating Rage and its crash. I say 110 secs of BU because only on the first aplication of Rage do you get its full benefits for 120 secs.Aafter that its 120 - 10 sec crash time if you reactivate Rage as the last application crashes, otherwise you get less time before next crash.

I will be there with Sweetness unless RL (ie kids) interfere. In fact, I think I'll go see if I can solo a Pylon.

    Numina ?

if you trigger it while it's still up, it just extends the duration.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Untrue, it just resets the duration back to 2 min.
  6. Just the resist sets, Steadfast and that new pvp resist set.

My much ignored macro on my SR when we face nemessis: "Lts die LAST or I go solo the other half of the map while you struggle with stacked veng." =(

    [/ QUOTE ]

This for me on any defense based toon.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
I don't think a tripple application of rage is possible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It is but it will take Rage fully slotted for recharge AND over 210% global recharge which is possible to get on your own but with great sacrifces in your build. Of course outside recharge buffs like Speed boost and AM will help get you there too. But those 3 crashes in 2 mins will tank your dps and your endurance.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Will someone please remember to quote the OP's before they delete a post so we can continue to mock them long after they take their ball and run home to mommy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Indeed. Oh btw +1
  10. As stated by others, Taser Dart is an origin specific permanent temporary power. There is no way to slot up any temp power in the game but you can increase accuracy and recharge. You do this via IO set bonuses, Build up or it's alter-ego Aim, Tactics, Hasten, outside buffs applied by other players, and/or other powers that are specific to your powersets. Just be aware that some temp powers are flagged to not accept damage buffs. Origin powers are permanent but as you get some more attack powers you should find yourself using these less if not at all.
  11. Try disabling your virus program. It happened to me at one point that after a patch, my virus program kept scanning everything incoming from the game. It slowed down my system so bad I was ready to quit the game, placed several support tickets about it, and finally reinstalled my OS. I tried the game w/o my virus program installed and it worked fine. Installed the program and game went to crap.

Also if trying to load said toon keeps crashing your game and hence system, put a support ticket in and ask them to move your toon to another zone.
  12. Is this you first lvl 50 tank? You find you DA/ SS tank so underperforming and unexciting. I believe its not only your selection in the powers that you took but also how you slotted them, how you play said toon, and your expectations of the powersets compared to what other players expect. So we've seen your builds, how about what tactics you plan to use? For instance, do you only use the toggles necessary for each enemy type? Do you try to herd? Do you just run in and attack the hardest target?

OK, then you say your up and coming Shield tank is so much better. Let's see what your current build for that Shield toon looks like.

Can AVs endurance bar even get dented?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seen it done by a team of ?/Electric defenders..

    [/ QUOTE ]

My SG has a */ electric superteam. I remember us ex'ing for some tf at the same time as the Halloween event was going on. We came out of a mish in PP and saw Eochai. We figured we'd give it a try even being exed. We drained him, but we just didn't have the damage without all our attacks to take him down.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I meant the actual debuff. It's supposed to be part of the balance of rage. But when stacked, it fails to apply.

Agreed that this screws defense based sets far more than dam-res based sets, but Castle was supposed to deal with that at some point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The def debuff fails to apply if another Rage has been activated, except if you zone. If you activate Rage, zone somewhere, then reactivate Rage before the 1st runs out, the def debuff gets applied no matter what.
  15. Since you are talking at lvl 40, then lower all those set IOs to lvl 43, which would be the max you could slot at lvl 40. And Rage in your set-up would be perma but not by alot and any slow effect on you will cause it to not be so. Also, you would be required to reapply Rage as soon as its recharged no matter what else is going on. You will be sucking for end when Rage crashes especially against harder targets with extended battles.

The first was expensive, the 2nd even more so. I could get capped AOE def as well on the 2nd but I'm not ready to make the sacrifices to do so at this time.

And a few notes about OwtS:

    1) +recovery is negligible unless slotted for.
    2) this is not your "the [censored] hit the fan" power. If the [censored] has hit the fan, eat inspires until you are stable, then use OwtS. Or use it beforehand.
    3) OwtS has a fixed recharge. Meaning easy to slot-- you could just throw 2 Resist and an End mod SO in it while lvling and this will be just fine.
    4) OwtS and SoW have the lightest crashes of all tier 9's.
    5) I have no comments on its usefulness in PVP.

Tactics: Brutes and Tanks benefit greater by running in the middle of a spawn and fueling AAO (and Fury for brutes), but I prefer as a scrapper to open with Shield Charge whenever possible. When they are all on their backs, I can use Slice and Whirling Sword and Parry, then get into position against harder targets. Shield Charge not recharged-- run in and Parry easiest target (minion maybe), then switch to hard target-- use AOE's as necessary, refresh Parry as necessary.
  18. Also the longer animation times of BS may result in being defeated while animating an attack more often than with Kat.

Strat: Since you haven't slotted a ton of +regen, I would consider using Perfomance Shifter in Consume instead of EA. More recovery &amp; HP-- same damage buff. And Mako over ToD, unless you are thinking that if you exemplar you'll still want some bonuses as at lvl 40 %'s of ToD &gt; Mako. And Ragnarok: KD instead of Pacing of the Turtle in Caltrops maybe eventually??
  19. I believe that the dropships give no reward if defeated. Also, they do not slow down ever it seems, while you as a player will if you attack. Very difficult to defeat with no reward.
  20. First off, why not make a global channel for all members to use no matter which sg they are in? Then you can keep in touch even if members are on different servers.

Second, I'm not sure you can make a bind that will send messages to 2 different channels at the same time. But I bet you can make a bind that lets you switch from one channel to the other. I don't have a clue how to do but it someone may be along to help you with it. Basically hit a certain key and it changes your default channel to sg, type in your message, then hit that key again, it switches you to coalition, then hit enter, up arrow, enter. Same message goes to both channels.

Really Option #1 is easier and more convenient and will help out enormously when you have to go to sg3 and sg4 as you and your members recruit more and/or make more alts.

Edited: Also why not just type in coalition? It will be seen by members of both sgs anyways.
  21. Do you mean their global names? If they are gonna redo their trial with the refer a friend code----&gt; Just have them rename their global handle before their original trial expires and delete those toons so they can get back the names if they are attached to them by now.
  22. Kill Bill either or both volumes.
  23. Did you go through the refer a friend feature through your master account that sent them a code via email? If so, then as long as they upgrade their account to a regular account, then you should get credit via the normal procedures. How much time is it--- 1 or 2 months of paid time on their side before you get credit?

If they just went to the site and got a trial account, then you are SOL.
  24. I was looking at your build and couldn't understand why Deflection and Battle Agility were so under-enhanced with HOs in them. I think you goofed there and you really want Cytoskeleton Exposures instead of the Enzymes. Mids shows a slight increase with Enzymes over Cytos but I gotta believe this is in error. Enzymes enhance def debuff and not def buff. Of course if someone has already slotted these, then they could tell definitively either way. Otherwise, copy the toon over to Test, slot them and see what happens.

Edit: As for Stealth at lvl 50, why not go for Manuevers instead? It gives a slightly larger defense buff that is the same all the time unlike Stealth whose defense buff gets halved when you are combat. Pick up a stealth IO for sprint.
  25. LOL I'd already said I'd be an alternate, IF I'm not working &amp; IF the character copy tool ever works before then. I even have a better build for said BS/ Shield planned. Guess I'll go check and see if the copy tool worked yet.....grrr patch on test that wasnt there this morning....

{Edit} As of 7:45 pm EST, some copy of my scrapper got to TEST. WOOHOO!
