Quote:I appoint you his translator! That's good enough for me. OK, guys, let's all be reasonable here and just stop the back-and-forth. We're not going anywhere, and I'd hate to let the sentiment in the quote above go to waste. The man said his peace, so let's just leave him alone. There's nothing to be gained from this.
And I'm not saying this to make myself sound important or play the arbiter. I really DO appreciate the sentiment and I'd love to see us honour it.
What is he saying? -

I was all like "NO NO NO NO NO RAHHH RIGHTEOUS NERD RA...oh".

Quote:Just a game...As a VERY casual forum poster (something like 300 + posts in 5 years).....what should I think of rep on the forums..???...I noticed I had 3 when I logged in today from 3 months ago (first time I logged in since that last post to wish Posi well)....2 negative and one positive....I am just curious as I do not post here much at all....what is it all about...???
And I am sure someone will call this post garish and give me bad rep for it...LOL -
The game hasn't been out for a billion hours yet.
People with the badge must be exploiters! -
Quote:I didn't think so, but we are talking about random rep comments and whatnot and I keep getting green rep saying "It still looks like a diaper" from someone who repped me a while back letting me know in EU pants is underwear so Mr NoPants should be naked.Yeah, I like that the thread is topical and lively right now.
Also, I edited a lot of my post because the "hyperbole" comment was a bit much.
Was not me!
Or somethign to that effect the original rep is long gone form view. -
Quote:Yes but now we are talking again so...PROGRESS!Oh, that was you?
I'm shaking my fist at you. Can you see it all the way over there?
I posted it there because I wanted to respond and it was in that thread. I'm by far not the first person to post in a thread to say "Someone gave me rep for a two-week old post." After I answer this guy's question five or six times and he keeps re-asking it under the pretense that I was missing his point, I thought it was a bit dumb for someone to lecture me in my rep page about how I never answered his question.
Also, yelling = hyperbole.
Since we are on the topic of rep comments; no it is not a diaper, I am wearing a cup under my briefs. -
Quote:That was for posting in a thread 2 weeks dead to yell at invisible people.Copying and pasting rep to respond to it causes a lot of people to lose it for some reason. It's like they think that since it's only visible to you, that you should shut up about it. I liked one person who accused me of yelling at invisible people (despite rep comments being quite visible) and other people who describe any attempt to respond to statements made in negative rep comments as "whining."
There's one guy, for example, who's had a personal drama blowout because I don't respond to rep in the way he dictates.
This isn't advising anyone to not post or respond to neg-rep, btw. It's just information.
I was all hoping for new posts and you made me pout.
This is an active thread and it would be topical. -

Quote:The clipping doesn't seem to care how big you are, this is why huge models go through door frames if they hit it right.I didnt say it was slam-dunk easy. If that was the case, we would probably already have this in-game. What I am suggesting is NOT a travel power per-se, but a means of travel in the greater city areas.
But let me take a stab at your other issues.
Attacks: You are in a vehicle, so no attacks unless you dismount (for lack of a better word)
Defenses: You vehicle should have PFF level protection while travelling.
Other Travel powers: Suppressed while in a vehicle
Strafing: This is actually a cool problem to solve. Imagine what kinds of animations you could cook up for strafing. Motorcycle leans into a turn. Jet banking etc...
Clipping: Come on, dont these games all use collision calculation. You would just be BIGGER in a vehicle. Which means there are places you couldnt go. Motorcycles dont go up small stairwells or jets flying through small underpasses. Might seem like alot of issues, but the issues are not any different than real-world are they ? -
Quote:You're right it's not fair.My problem is the large number of people that got some or all of those benefits the first day they were implemented, without "waiting". Every time these Veteran's Rewards discussions come up, this is the point that is constantly ignored - many people (and the vast majority of those speaking against any change in the program) never had to wait for many of the benefits. They acquired them the day they were added to the game engine, or soon thereafter. They never had to wait a year and a half to get wings, or three years to get shorts. They received the benefits as soon as they were made available in the game, like free issues only for veterans.
"Just wait your turn" completely ignores the fact that most people telling me to wait my turn never had to wait for theirs. They got in on opening day.
And I am just talking about costumes (and base decorations) here. In a game whose biggest draw is customisation - and whose biggest direct competitor is trying to boast on having more customisation - cutting off large swaths of your potential customers from any aspects of that customisation is simply bad business.
New players should get no rewards till their account is 2.5 years old then they can have all vet rewards up to their paid time so they can be on equal footing with people who were here on 04/24/2004 as far as rewards issue dates go. -
Quote:The fact it's being released will disappoint some. Some will go "Ohh I don't see GR yet it must be dead" the day before open beta. Some will say it diminishes CoV for being better, some will say it fell short by having less. No mater what they do people will be disappointed and complain. I'm surprised I haven't seen any complaints about having power customization in the creator slowing down the process yet.CoV was what, 20 dollars at launch? And this was, of course, in 2005, when CoH was still fresh and had a higher price point. If this expansion is the same price, why shouldn't people expect the same amount of stuff? Standalone or not, CoV set the precedent for expansions in CoH. Following it up with an expansion that has a lot less content is bound to disappoint people.
GR having less then CoV is the logical expectation after being told it isn't a stand alone game. -
One was a stand alone expansion which was suppose to have enough content to function on its own. The other is an expansion branching off from the whole which does not stand by itself.

If we get unicycles I want balloon weapons!

I thought their gun drones changed because they summon the same pet as players...

Effort only equates in fairness if effort is not equal on all subjects. We all have a 0 effort cost so it is indeed equally fair.

Run across the plains avoiding cats and the occasional giant (cyclops?) to practice feign death across Highpass Hold (if I din't fall off the cliff) till I hit the woods never Rivervale. It made since since I was in a primitive medieval world. But when you are involved with an organization that picked you out of time itself it doesn't make sense they only would have a limited amount of places to send you unless you were talking to someone.

50 slots per server and 4 opened per server if you buy GR ^_^.

Quote:I consider teleporting to another zone traveling. The Oro Portal is not a travel power.
It should remain even under the most strict powers disabling settings.
There is however a bug with it last time I checked that messes with availability when exemped
So if you want to get a badge for not using traveling powers in a storyline you shouldn't have access to the Base TP, Oro Portal, Pocket D port, or Went/BM port powers. -
