The future of Malta Gunslingers
BaB's already said that he wasn't going to do the Doves in the actual game release because it was a head-ache he didn't want to deal with.
I think it is a good question though since the Malta DID get the new floating gun-turret... one of the few times that a player base changed carried over to NPC's. Everytime I run a Manti I hear grumbling about Paragon Protectors still having the old MoG instead of the new player based MoG.
So there's precedent set both ways for the devs to either give the Malta new animations or keep the old sets.
BaB said that the doves wouldn't be in the player version of the powers, but I vote that Malta gunslingers get doves added to their arsenal. Just because.
I'd like them to keep the current animations - it'd make the DP Heroes look better

I thought their gun drones changed because they summon the same pet as players...
I'm guessing, if players get versions of Gunslinger powers, with new animations, the new animations might carry over.
If the powers remain unique to Gunslingers they will probably keep their current animations.
I hope they do keep their current animations, they are more cowboy, unlike the player animations, which look like somebody designed them after watching a John Woo marathon. Not that this is in any way a bad thing.

Could somebody tell me what the heck you mean by doves? Because I'm sitting here envisioning Malta Gunslingers waving white birds at me...

I actually like the old animations they had, and I wish they were still around. There's both boss and lieutenant Gunslingers, so they could have one rank use the double tactical pistols and the other use the revolvers. It'd make them easier to tell apart at a glance, at least.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.

I'm actually on the fence of retro-fitting gunslingers with the new Dual Pistols animations. On the one hand, it'd made sense, since they're supposed to be this incredible threat to heroes, but their bag of tricks is essentially "shoot guns a lot." On the other hand, "just shoot guns a lot" kind of fits in the Malta Groups' modus operandi. And yet on the OTHER hand... Well, cowboy hats and six-shooters and that description... I don't know.
Either way, we have three sets of possible animtions - the old one-handed ones, the current Mastermind ones and the new Dual Pistols ones. I'm not too picky about what they end up getting, but the bosses HAVE to get different animations from the minions. It HAS to happen.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

In Issue 7 when Thugs came out, Malta Gunslingers abandoned their six-shooter fanning ways in favor of dual pistols. They even got their own unique draw animations so they could keep twirling those things.
Now, since history shows Gunslingers love to keep up with pistol-related trends, does that mean that come Going Rogue, we're gonna see Gunslingers spinning and jumping around while they twirl their guns and throw doves in our faces?
