  1. Thor TV spot, pretty much rehash of footage we've seen before.... now with new 'n' improved 5% added Troll flavour.

Thats seemless CGI putting Chris's head on that shorter skinnier body. Red Skull looks nice 'n' nasty and great to see again the interior of that Hydra base in there @0:22 secs - brings back happy memories as I was walking around in there a couple of months ago, and I've gotta say the attention to detail is amazing.

Also, 0:20 secs is Cap with a gun so no reservations about using arms either.

Modern movie viewers and comic book readers expect a little more realism than that. Put Cap in chain mail in the movie and it would push the costume from "kind of tough to believe, but I'll give it a chance" to "that's effin' stupid, no one would wear that, what is he, in Lord of the Rings?" territory.
I disagree. Tell me, exactly how much does a Stark™ designed wafer-thin vibranium chainmail weigh?.... hmm?

    [insert plausible explanation here].

Remember this film is set in WWII era. This will not be the final uniform for his modern day Avengers reincarnation after he is inadvertantly fro....

Thats why I enjoy the Donner cut more, all that nonsense is gone and the film is more rounded including a more emotive connection with his father in the Fortress. (Thanks for reminding me btw, i forgot I had that tucked away in a cupboard somewhere).

And I thought the Airplane rescue scene in Superman Returns is the suspenseful quality that the rest of the film should of continued, unfortunately it descended into a mopey mess which wasn't Routh's fault. I thought he made a good Superman tbh, he didn't get the quality acting scenes to really get his teeth into the part in my opinion.

Lets face it, the original is the classic and as much as the studio wants another successful Superman trilogy or more, the story is so popular a movie adaptation will be attempted at least once every 10-15 years like clockwork.
  6. Good to see this film moving forward. Congratulations Mr Cavill, now.. off to the gym with you.
  7. New set pictures emerge, and it occurs to me just how much the new suit looks like a spider-mankini.

  9. Good ole' QMx, they do come up with some great products, Its just a shame that the two things i like most on their site are so darn expensive.
The U.S.S Enterprise (StarTrek XI) and Serenity ship replicas are a couple of thousand each, you've gotta be a fan of a whole new order to even consider those.
  10. I agree, Its definately in the 'so bad its good catagory' - no way to run a station.
I remember way back when we first saw SyFy here on BSkyB here in the U.K - then branded 'SciFi' with a little rocket elipse logo, It was actually pretty good for watchable programmes.

    Courtesy io9.com.

    Spoilers ahead.
  13. ...they'll be back for breakfast.

    (new 6-part series airing mid-to-late 2012).

I agree with the writer at io9.com, 'Back to Earth' was terrible and I hope they capture some of the magic this show had in it's prime.
  14. Steel yourself... new shots show both Dredd's uniform and his lawmaster bike.

That would be stupid, he needs to look the part.
People are already blogging about potential actors like Djimon Hounsou.
Seems like he'd be perfect for the part, he's an award winning actor and certainly looks like he could portray him physically.
At 47 he is also old enough to portray a king of stature and experience (for heavens sakes Marvel don't give some kid in his twenties the role).

Besides, he'll be in the short-running for the part for sure having previously voiced the Marvel animation.

Yes, I saw the Casper Van Dien film listed over at IMDB, but to be honest I consider my toilet-mat to be more of a potential box-office draw than Casper Van Dien films.... so i did the right thing and ignored it.

Avoiding any Disney animations, It was 1984: Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.
It won a crapton™ of nominations, It was (and is still) a damn good film. Its the definitive live-action Tarzan film in my opinion, the story and the cast were bloody brilliant, If you haven't seen it do yourself a favour and watch it!.

[EDIT]: In fact... thanks for the reminder, just picked a 2004-mastered brand-new copy of this 1984 film up at Amazon.co.uk for a mere £3.07. Bargain.

Yes but Black Panther's tech is so advanced it appears to make him seem more metahuman than his munching on the heart-shaped herb.
