They might be going for the "bug-wings" Angel from Grant Morrison's run. I dunno.
Definitely interesting that they're using the classic blue and yellow for the uniforms, and that Havok and Mystique are in the team line-up. Not entirely sure what Azazel is doing in this movie, but... *shrug*

Looks okay. Odd choices on the group of mutants. I can see why they'd have to switch it up a bit what with the previous movies switching some of the originals up. But I thought I'd read that Banshee was in this as well... Also I hope they start out with Beast being non-blue-haired but in order not to confuse movie goers I'm not going to get my hopes up.

I don't know.
The trouble is, even if the movie is competant, I'm not sure I'll be able to enjoy it. I can accept changes to continuity in comic book movies, but at this point the X-Men movie continuity is such a flippin' mess..... I'm just not sure I can get past it.

Course, even if they do go with the fly version, there's the problem with her now apparantly being older than Cyclops in the movie-verse.

Yeah, I imagine the majority of the origin story will focus on Prof.X and Magneto, but there might be a little time for odd flashbacks. They might try something emotionally pensive like in 'The Last Stand' when Beast comes within range of that Patient Zero kid and his hand reverts and he stands and considers it.

I can't speak for the X-men canon on this, I just know that is the character's name that Zoe Kravitz will be playing. My guess, they'll use the name and probably grab powers from somewhere else and make an amalgam character.

My guess is they just wanted to have someone using the Angel codename in the "original" team for the movie-verse, since the actual original Angel didn't show up until the third movie.
Kind of like how they needed a Summers (Havok) and a redhead (Mystique) on the team.

Maybe it's just me, but looking at the picture, Mystique looks terrible.
Really hope they don't screw up Emma.
And I don't see why they can't have Scott or Jean in the movie, and Emma meets Scott in Wolverine, or are they going to do Emma right this time?

I think if people go to this flick remembering that it is NOT a Marvel movie they will be ok. This is a Fox "we gotta keep the rights" movie. I think the rights go back to Marvel in a few years though. Then we, the fans, will get another one.

Yeah...this is a wait till cable. I could barely suppress my knowledge of the Xmen (Dark Phoenix Saga is literally one of my earliest memories of reading) to watch the first one, and it just got worse from there. I don't think I can handle the mental acrobatics it would take to even grasp this one.
