Every AT gains at least 1 powerset -- Masterminds only get a Secondary, no new Primary. Brutes get 2 new Primaries, and 1 secondary. Everyone else gets 1 Primary and 1 Secondary.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait... blasters too? Blaster support sets, like mastermind primaries, are unique. You'd have to build an entirely new set. -

Great info now the 8 man team theory can be put to rest.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, getting a bunch of 8 man teams together serves the same purpose, but it's interesting that technically NOBODY has to be teamed to spawn heavies, so long as there's a big crowd all gathered together. -

"How come the Clockworks don't attack cars or make nasty cars to attack people?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Why DON'T they make evil cars to attack people? -
I wound up just feeding my altaholism. Hit all the milestones I set for myself, though: got my corruptor to 30 and her auras, got my stalker to 40 and over the level 39 wall, and got my new mastermind to 24, within spitting distance of the Commando. I wanted to work on my poor level stuck-at-42 tanker, but I only had so much time to devote to the game.
Levelling up my lowbie MM is even better now that the new patch has finally gone live and my Acid Mortar will quit betraying me (Achilles Heel proc). -
If you're still taking suggestions, I'd like to see a consistency pass made on the various "drain" powers. Power Sink is a particularly bad offender, as it seems to have a different icon in every power set it appears in. Likewise for various versions of Dark Consumption.
Totally pedantic, but there should really be a set guideline for whether drain powers show the attribute you're boosting (with an up arrow), the attribute you're draining from the enemy (with a down arrow), or just the little meter to big meter icon. -

Now I have make amends with Positron damnit... Seems he saw the Light and is FINALLY getting away from Jack Emmert's oppressive ideas of "FUN" when it came to Character progression and build Customization. ...If Positron does the same thing to smooth out Salvage and Pool-C drops.... I promise I'll [u]never say another bad thing about him[u] for the rest of my villainous days. (Exluding "AGH!, put the Helmet back on!" of course)
[/ QUOTE ]
You DO know that Jack helped write the CoV Prima guide, right? The one that, mistake-ridden as it was, disclosed the full numbers to every single villain power set? Did you miss the Statesman post where he openly admits he was wrong about his reasoning for keeping the numbers vague? But no, everything you hate about the game exists for no reason other than the mad whims of Stateman's "vision".
Jack Emmert, boogeyman. I bet that looks awesome on a resume. -

Making Story Arcs even less worthwhile than they already are.
This is also going to cause inflation in lvl 10-40 IO sets.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can play through every single story arc offered to you, but you're still going to be stuck at level 39 with no more content available. Levels 20-22 are also way more difficult to slog through than they need to be, so those two levels need to be over faster than they already are. -

Oh the post above; check again on that costume bug, i'm pretty sure i fixed it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just checked it, and it's still not fixed on Live. The fix might still be in the queue, though. I'll keep an eye on it during the next couple patches. -
Two for one screenshot.
While females are in the Katana fighting pose, they clip badly through the Student Shirt. This is a new bug introduced in I11 - this didn't used to happen. To a slightly lesser extent, this happens on Jackets/Uniform as well.
Also, as you can see from the same screenshot, the secondary color on the new Ninja Blade weapon travels all the way up the back of the blade. I'm pretty sure the blade should be a uniform color.
Misaligned textures on the sides
Long-standing bug, and affects all models, but it's most noticeable on women. As you can see there, textures and patterns get all jagged and out of alignment somewhere along the side of the model.
Twisted left feet
I can't tell you the exact date this happened because all posts after June seem to have gone missing from the old costume bugfix thread. However, in one of the patches on or around I10, the left feet on all models got slightly twisted. It's usually not noticeable, but certain costume choices make it very apparent.
In the image, I've got a shot of the male feet with the Tech Banded texture, where you can clearly see the textures not lining up the same way on the left foot. The other shot is female Small Hooves, and there it's really obvious where it's been twisted over. This is happening to Huge as well, but I couldn't get a very obvious shot.
Lastly, no screenshot needed: The Arachnos pre-order helmets still cannot be colorized. Could you please find some time to make tintable versions of these? -

However, I will say this. If they're going to create a web interface where we can see each others characters (something which I seem to recall being discussed back when City of Heroes launched), they ought to be able to put into that interface an option for "Hide all characters from web page" so that people don't have to log in every single character they want to hide and fool with the option.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, please. I'm more than happy to let people see my character, costumes, and even build. Showing off my friends seems a bit too intrusive, though, and it's going to be a pain to go through 20-30 characters just to turn off display of my global friends and such. -
I kinda wish I'd hopped over to test to put this through the paces now. There's a number of fairly obvious errors on some of the temp costumes, like the missing cape mantle on the Paragon Protector, borked camera angle on PPD Swat, and the gross misspelling of Eidolon.
Also, a badge for 50 costumes? There's only 33 to begin with, so it seems a bit much. I suspect it's not as annoying if you're also camping out to get the other kill badges, but on my oldbie characters who have all the other Halloween badges, it's a little tedious.
And the Lost costume seriously needed to be TV head. Maybe next year! -
I think they'll be doing really well to have this out the door before the end of December. The dev team is a fair bit more experienced now, but it's still not an easy task to get two powersets for four ATs balanced in that short a time. Damage control on poorly-balanced sets is very hard once the sets are live, and I think Castle is busy enough just cleaning up the existing problem sets.

Although, the picture they have in the Game Updates section make the bases look like they're way up in the sky or something. That glowing, golden orb might be a way to TP onto it if you're not a Flyer. Sorta like how there are the Blue Orbs in the Shadow Shard that TP you back to FBZ.
I would LOVE it if the bases were up high somewhere within the city or off of an island. It would look so ominous and bad[censored].
[/ QUOTE ]
At this point I'm reminded of that little island way out in the water in Talos Island to the north-east that's on most of the maps, but is definitely not there in-game. I've always wondered about that... -
For topics that were pretty much general to both games, people tended to just stick them in CoH General for lack of a better place to put it. Just for that reason, I think this is a great idea. A majority of the playerbase plays both games anyway, so there's little reason to segregate anymore.
-
It would be the greatest thing ever if, for the I11 event, they switch over to the alternate universe without warning and act like nothing is the matter. Just leave everyone to try to figure out what the heck just happened. It would be beautiful.
-
Well, as soon as I get home, I think it's time to change back to my old "This issue: EVERYONE DIES" avatar. For once it's actually relevant to the storyline.
-
The "behind the scenes" mechanics may very well be meaningless to people outside of customer service. For various reasons, I doubt they want to say explicitly how their staff and internal procedures work.
The fact that there's a special system in place at all should suggest that however it works, using /ignore_spammer means that spammers will be dealt with a lot more efficiently than they have been. If it means no more getting spam tells from one guy for an hour on Virtue, I'll jump through whatever hoops you want.
And if it's really an issue, remember that spammers are harassing hundreds of people at once. If all you have time for is a quick /ignore_spammer, just do that; someone not up to their ears in enemies will probably have time for a proper petition. -

Why you guys won't fix: MoG, Energy Aura, Consume, Fire Manipulation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Consume hasn't gotten fixed yet because they were busy looking to see how well Fiery Aura did after the Healing Flames buff, although I think you can still argue for improvements.
Fire Manipulation can't be fixed by anything short of swapping out several powers, something that the devs absolutely hate to do because it tends to screw up people's existing builds. Every time you see a /Fire blaster stubbornly insisting on using Blazing Aura or Burn, they're the reason /Fire will never get fixed.
The other two, beats me. Castle said he knows EA has issues, but I guess MoG is considered balanced based on the rest of the set being awesome. Really, I don't think Regen users get to complain about anything; a bajillion nerfs later, and it's STILL really good. -

So who's gonna take the bets on how long b4 they take this out after every noob and there dog abuses it
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not like this changes anything. Noobs and their precocious dogs abuse regular /petition quite a bit already. -
What, no mention of one of the Warriors' most illustrious leaders, King Mace?
I don't know who thought that was a good boss name, but it's right up there with Manhandle and Clang Clang Clang.

Fraud affects all banks and credit companies equally, so it's something that transcends market competition. It's just sensible for them to have all gotten together to discuss and implement a global policy for dealing with this new form of fraud. I'm really not surprised to find all these financial institutions changing their policies all at once.
It's a big pain in the butt for legitimate users, but I gather that identity theft for the purpose of funding MMO subscriptions is becoming a big enough issue that banks and credit companies are having to seriously crack down. Still, it's an inconvenience I'm willing to accept, if it means more consumer protection in the long run. -
[ QUOTE ]
My suggestion is to not jump to the conclusion that everyone will be rushing to transfer ONTO the busy servers. I know of many people, including myself, that can't wait to get away from the crowds and lag and such.
[/ QUOTE ]
That was my thought. Who in the world is going to be transferring TO Freedom? If anything, it's Virtue that'll have more trouble with overcrowding. -
At this point, you may as well just remove the heavies entirely. You can't use them for pillbox captures, you can't use them to help knock over the signature characters, and players generally ignore them when PvPing. What good are they now?
It'll make the heavy badges unobtainable, but you can always just delete the badges too, since in this case player unhappiness seems not to matter too much. -
"NOTE: This trial is only valid in North America. "
No idea how they're actually enforcing that, though. -
[ QUOTE ]
Let's say I wanted to stalk someone - I can /gignore them, get their global handle, and then send them tells no matter who they are on as. If they are not aware of the chat-handle system, they may have very little recourse.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, not really - the other person can /gignore you in turn, and the harassment ends there. Not only that, now THEY have YOUR global handle, which they can use to petition you for harassment if you press the issue further.
Mad props to NCSoft for being swift to address this issue. I'm not happy about what gold farmers do to the in-game economy, but I could overlook that. It's the constant spamming that was the irritating part in WoW.
For best results, mention the character name that sent the tell, the global handle, the server, and the time of day in your petition so they can pinpoint it in the chat logs.
