I didn't read through all 18 pages, so most or all of these will be repeats, but here we go:
- Alternate hands on single-handed powers, like the tier 1 blasts. Dual Pistols does this, and looks cool, but the other t1s don't as far as I know.
- Medicine pool > Different animations for each origin (But not necessarily tied to origins). Special crystal or a wand for Magic, throw a prescription bottle or pop a pill for Natural, etc.
- Fire/Ice Breath > Something. Anything. I HATE how these powers look on 95% of my characters that use them. Something more like Energy Torrent would work.
- ____ Punch > Make the 'overhead-double-fisted-invisible-sledgehammer' animation into an actually punch.
- Fire/Ice Sword > Axes, T-1000 style elemental blades, different swords, as much variety as possible. -
Quote:This is my problem, too. Outside of Wakies and emergency Greens, I'm hesitant to use Inspirations. The only time I do is to 'buff up' before a Boss or EB fight.
There's this nagging voice in the back of my head. Every time my mouse goes to the tray, I hear it. "But what if you really need them later?" -
I have a Huntsman that is an excellent farmer. Surveillance on boss or LT > Build Up > Venom Grenade > Heavy Burst > Frag Grenade pretty much wipes out yellow minions. Throw in a Patron AOE attack and it wipes out orange minions. Meanwhile, your Arachnobot pets and Patron pets are picking off stragglers and finishing bosses.
I havent' tried one, but I hear that Crabs have even better AOE damage. -
Will you do instanced train missions? Or any other outdoor instances?

You don't subscribe to a casino. If you get mad at losing 20 straight hands in blackjack, you leave, and the casino doesn't get any more of your money.
In COH, you might ragequit after your fourth defeat at the hands of Captain Mako, but you don't cancel your subscription. Well, I'm sure someone out there has, but that person probably wasn't/would never be a long-time player anyway.
When I log off, I either do it because something in real life needs to be taken care of (i.e. work, sleep, food, time with people, etc.), or because I just accomplished something in the game. I log off after finishing a task force or story arc WAY more often than after I fail at one.
Getting handed a recipe after I die won't make me stick around longer, because something like that isn't what would make me quit. -
Aim-Build Up-Snipe on a lvl 1 Skull from about a foot away with a lvl 50 Blaster. That amuses me way more than it should
-
66 months > $960.00
CoH > $50
CoV Collectors' Edition > $80 (right?)
GvE pack > $15
Natural Pack > $10
Cyborg Pack > $10
Magic Pack > $10
Total > $1135.00
Wow. That's crazy. Then again, it breaks down to only about 57 cents a day, just under $4.00 a week. I've definitely spent waaaaaayyyyyyy more than that in arcades when I was younger, so it doesn't look that bad when you break it down. -
I think the problem is that you have Halloween for 3 weeks, about 4 weeks of normal play, the Winter Event for 2-4 weeks, about 4 weeks of normal play, then the Valentine's event for a couple weeks, then... nothing until Halloween again.
I'm for a new event of two. Double XP weekends are all well and good, but I would like to see something a little more creative. April could have an Rabbit-related mission. Maybe some sort of "Save Uncle Sam" mission in July. Something like this could spice up the event-less time between February and November. -
I would like some kind of "reverse repel". Specifically, Gravity Controllers and Dominators need a "Black Hole" power. It could work as something with a droppable target, or as an anchor attack on an enemy. Picture the opposite of Hurricane. A power that sucks enemies towards a central location, instead of pushing them away.

Quote:That is an AWESOME idea. It's pretty much universally agreed that the original TFs, such as Positron's and Synapse's, are excessively "padded" and don't really make a whole heck of a lot of sense when you look at them through the lens of the current state of the game. If you dropped or changed these TFs, quite a few people would raise Hell about it. If you keep them in the exact same state, but just make them accessible through Ouroboros, those people are appeased. By "freeing up" Positron, Synapse, et al., you can institute new TFs that better reflect the current 'vision' of the game.
The subject of moving TF's to Ourobous has also come up before when talk has turned to updating various Freedom Phalanx TF's against in-game current events. E.G. Manticore's not really into going after Crey right about now. Clockwork King has that... romance... with Penelope. Woodsman has been rescued and now sits in Eden for that Trial. It's been suggested that the developers could move the older Task Forces into Ourobous and write new TF's for each of the signature Freedom Phalanx Heroes. -
I just built my first PC, with Windows 7. It's quite the upgrade from a 6 year old rig running XP. After installing COH, I fired it up and everything ran beautifully. When I logged off, I glanced at my desktop shortcut for COH and noticed that there was a small blue and yellow shield in the corner of the icon. When I right-clicked to see what was going on, I saw options for "Run As Administrator" and "Troubleshoot Compatibility".
Although I didn't seem to have any issues, I clicked "troubleshoot compatibility". I was told that the setting were compatible with XP Service Pack 2. Considering that everything appears to be running fine, is this anything I should be bothered by?
Also, why am I being prompted to run COH as the administrator? Is there something that I would need to do as the admin regarding COH?
Sorry if these sound like stupid or paranoid questions, but I'm working on the first computer I've built myself, and I'm clearly new to Windows 7. I looked for some answers on the search, but didn't come up with anything. I just want to make sure I don't screw anything up, and everything is running as best it can. Thanks for any help. -
I don't know if this would work for animations for not, but I would KILL to see some Deadshot-style wrist-mounted pistols.
Thinking about, the animations themselves could be the exact same. Characters could move the same way with wrist-guns that they do with normal pistols. However, the barrel flash would need to be moved from a few inches from the end of the hand to a point hovering above the forearm. Not sure how that would work, but I'm sure our [blatant brown-nosing] awesome development team [/blatant brown-nosing] could make it work. -
Sounds like a great way to unlock the "Heart-Covered Boxers" costume piece.

I'll bite. I have a Warshade (I know you mentioned Peacebringers, but I haven't tried one yet) sitting at level 22. I've had him for several months, but just can't really seem to use him for than an hour or so at a time. Granted, he is nowhere near slotted up, but he's just incredibly difficult to play as.
In Nova form, I feel like the squishiest of blasters. Honestly, at level 22, I feel like 3 white minions are a threat to me. (Statesman would be so proud). Nova form seems to have NO mitigation, short of "I hope that thing dies before it gets to me!"
In Dwarf form, I feel like the weakest of Tankers. Sure, I can take the hits, but it takes 5 minutes to drop an opponent. I do so little damage that my blue bar is flirting with empty after only 2 or 3 white minions.
I can't really comment on the human powers, because I've focused entirely on the two forms. I've thrown all my slots into Nova and Dwarf, trying to make them feel viable and powerful.
I think the biggest problem is that the number of options with my Warshade is simply too great. They don't have any clearly defined roll, but rather, have the potential to be solid at everything. I feel like if you don't pick early on what area in which you want to specialize, you'll never end up with a solid character. Without a clear focus, instead of doing one or two things very well, you end up doing five or six things very poorly. Warshades are intimidating and frustrating because you simply have too many options, and the only way to figure out which playstyle, and subsequent build, is right for you is trial and error. This can get tedious, and frankly, isn't very fun, so many people just drop out of the Kheldian altogether and play as something else.
That's my opinion, anyway. -
On the flip side of "The generators are too weak", you've got Black Scorpion's Nemesis Mole Miners mission. You have to destroy 4 of those damned things, and it will likely take you an hour, at least. Once you clear out the hundreds of Nemesis spawns, all you're left with is 4 towering Mole Miners. And you start hacking at them.
With my lvl 47 (at the time) Bots/FF MM, it took 22 effing minutes to destroy ONE of them. 22 minutes! These things don't attack, there aren't any ambushes, just put the bots on "Attack", pull up Firefox, and wait. Check back in every 5 minutes or so, then move on to the next one.
I couldn't even imagine doing this mission as a non-MM. You'd attack until you run out of endurance, then rest, then repeat, probably 2 dozen times.
The HP/resistance/regeneration/whatever on the Mole Machines is absolutely ridiculous.
Oh, and its an un-droppable mission. -
My favorite "Hitting 50" came redside on my Huntsman, defeating Lord Recluse in my patron arc. I didn't plan it that way, it was just how it happened. It was a bit of a crowning moment for me, to take a lowly Arachnos Wolf Spider all the way through the ranks, all the way up to Huntsman status, to go into the future, and defeat the man that runs the evil organization I worked for, and to reach the levelling pinnacle at the same moment. It was awesome.
-
I was so psyched to do and Earth/Earth that I never even considered any other possibilities. Fire/Earth with a Lava theme would look awesome, and play pretty well, too. Might have to do that.
-
I abuse the Stealth pieces constantly, usually as a complete set. Probably half my characters have Stealth chest, gloves, pants, boots, and belt with Layered Shoulder pads as one of their costumes. Its easily my favorite costume set in the game.
As for my most used single piece, its easily the Justice boots. I freaking LOVE how the Justice boots look, with the kneepad built in. I wish we had more pieces like that. -
Can you do different weapons with different costumes? If so, I would say that the Power Customization is tied to the costume, not the whole character.
-
The most popular sets to pull from have got to be Stealth and Enforcer.
-
SFX, an Ill/Sonic Controller. I was SHOCKED that this name wasn't taken. He's basically a heroic version of Mysterio, a Hollywood special effects tech who fights crime with holograms and audio tricks.
-
I've got a 47 Huntsman, and he's probably my favorite character. Killer AOE chain, insane team buffs, major debuffs on most of his attacks, and no ugly Crab legs. Make a Huntsman. You'll love it.
-
I would say the risk of a team wipe is cancelled out by the lack of crossing two or more zones to get from a contact to the mission they give you. The earlier enemies in COV are more dangerous, but it is made up for by the fact that the contacts give you missions in the zone you're in 90% of the time.
I'll take tougher fights over longer travel times any day. -

I'm not talking about sets that have one power, and thats it. Not "you get one tier 1 attack that can be leveled up to tier 9 after 50 levels". I mean one power set, like just picking elec blaster abilities, and thats it. Thats where a lot of people seem to be getting confused.

Think of primaries and secondaries with a thematic synergy as just a really big primary. Or perhaps a primary with extra powers.
For example, if your superpower is shooting fireballs, that's Fire Blast in COH. That's a single powerset. If you take that exact single powerset and stand really close to someone, like with your hand on their chest, and cast a fireball, you've just performed Fire Melee. Voila, you can RP that into a single powerset with ease. Likewise, if you train really hard on your pyrokinetic abilities, and figure out a way to create shear walls of flame around your enemies, locking them in place, or maybe even figure out a way to summon creatures made entirely out of fire to do your bidding, congratulations, you just mastered Fire Control. If you were to figure out a way to engulf your self in flames, so that no harm will come to you, woohoo, you've discovered Fire Armor.
With all of these examples, from a technical standpoint, you do only have one true superpower: the ability to do stuff with fire. Simple enough.
If Jubilee were to hone her skills to the point that her energy projections actually granted her defense against attacks, she'd have Energy Armor. I actually think Gambit has something along that very line in the comics, making him an Energy Blast/Energy Armor/Bo Staff/Super Reflexes Blapper.
As for a logical explanation of why we can pick non-synergistic power combinations, such as Dark/Thorn Corruptors or Earth/FF Controllers, could you imaging the $#!+storm of complaining there would be if we were only permitted to pick combinations that ONLY had an blatantly obvious thematic synergy?
