  1. Are you looking for AV/GM soloing again? or ... what do you want out of the character?
  2. I have a strj/inv scrapper and an elec/strj tanker. My tanker kicks butt much better than my scrapper and did all the way to lvl 30 (no idea when/if the scrapper is going to pull ahead). It may have to do with the taunt psi procs in all of her attacks that is making the real difference though.
  3. I'm an altaholic and will be making at least one fresh dark control character with I22 (quite likely one dom & one troller). I'm wondering what people are thinking will be the "best" assault pairing with the darkish control. Theorycraft away

Ummm... /em points at first post in the thread.
  5. Honestly, that depends on you. The one you prefer will be the better for the somewhat serious alt. I like corruptors better than blasters but there are lots of people out there who like blasters better than corruptors.
  6. Yes.

Pros for corr: you get to buff up your team in addition to blasting. scourge
Cons for corr: you get to buff up your team in addition to blasting. Redraw.
Pros for blaster: nobody expects you to buff up your team in addition to blasting. Buildup, boost range, hard hitting melee attacks if needed.
Cons for blaster: you don't get to buff up your team in addition to blasting.

For a serious answer: make both, run them to 20 or so and see which you like the best. The blaster will mature fastest, the corrupter gets better and better after 20 when the real buffs start opening up. To get to 20 quick, run DFB 4 times and Positron TF - this will give you a clear idea of which you have the most fun with.

  9. I'll offer a regenerating flesh for all of them. It is *flesh* and it *regenerates*... what more could you possibly want?
  10. If you read the first post, the kid doesn't have transferrence yet. He needs to be able to play up to that level and manage his endurance until he gets his "I win the blue bar" button. The end reducers are just fine.
  11. I'm curious how you keep your toxic nozzle sprayey thing from getting clogged when you go knocking armored foes in the noggin with it.
  12. Speaking from the perspective of an elec/elec dom... so not corruptor specific, if anybody has corruptor experience that chimes in you'd want to weigh their advice higher, however: I'd not slot for end mod in the attacks at least until you have something that will really sap the blue bar. I think he'll get more out of standard slotting and defeating the mobs faster than he will with the sapping. Until transference that is, then you may look at adding a bit of end mod to finish off the mob's blue bar.

Remember that the mobs cheat - they get to use anything that is recharged as long as they have a sliver of endurance at the tick.
  13. I'm liking my br/cold. I just picked up benumb for a bit of debuffing goodness... the shields are decent and last long enough that I can blast away when on a team.
  14. I believe their intended use is in endurance draining attacks so that you can sap mob's blue bars. They can be used in stamina as said above, but they can also be slotted in powers like Electric control's conductive aura and electrical blasts. There are better choices for slotting in a lot of cases, but this is an option for a different playstyle. My elec/elec dom sapped Babbage of all of his blue bar in a Synapse yesterday.... while he could still do some stuff it was an effective slowdown on him.
  15. KK, I was wrong about "un-resistible", no worries admitting that. How much of the -500% is resisted now? I know for sure that even resisted it makes any big game fight a lot shorter.

And please do not be putting words into my mouth... I am not arguing anything to do with incarnates and purple I/Os. The original question is "Is Radiation Emission still great for AV/GMs?" and it is.
  16. Mmmmm, it can't have anything at all to do with the un-resistible -500% regeneration... nah. FWIW, Dark brings the same in howling (at twice the recharge) and Cold brings the same in their benumb (at 1.5 the recharge)

Nobody is desperate for a particular set in any of the TFs anymore because we've all learned to do anything in the game with any team. New stuff comes out, it stumps a few people for a short while, others figure out how to beat it, post a guide and then after a short while, it becomes like all the other stuff and "bring what you like" rules.

Reference please? The patch note when they "fixed" it will do.

Just for reference for the rest of you... http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Radiatio...ion#Historical ParagonWiki shows no history of this mysterious not resisted/now it is fix. This doesn't mean that it never happened, but it seems to me that this is something being pulled out of some nether region (sort of like Beu's sonic assault comments in other threads.)

I stand corrected, thanks for checking that.
  19. Not a fanboi of sonic except that it is a good set. I have some semi-retired sonic attack characters, none that I'm playing actively at this time. What I don't like is the misinformation being spewed by Beauregard disguised as facts "because he has numbers". He's using bad math wrongly to make a point and my concern is that someone may read what he's spewing and believe it.

    http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/power...d.Sonic_Attack

Sonic chain consists of shriek, scream in various combinations as fast as you can tap 'em. Each puts out 20% -resist (on defenders), shriek's res debuff lasts for 5 seconds and scream's lasts 7... you can squeeze up to 5 of these -res on a target. This -resist stacks. I have not tested, but I don't believe it stacks additively (ie. I *think* you don't get 5x-20, but you get 1 -20%, 1 -20% of whatever is left, 1 -20% of whatever is left etc... not a straight up -100%) See below.... I am incorrect in this thought and it DOES stack additively (i.e. a straight up -100%)

  21. I'm liking it and the stalker changes too.... now to figure out, do I make a witch on live or a bitter janitor? The broom is the only model that looks right with the sound fx for guarded

And really, in this game that's all that is important. A /kin controller is a powerful character for sure... If you're pondering it, make one and play it for a full play session, see if you enjoy it. I personally don't like kin playstyle but it is a great set and I always love to see someone else playing it that is enjoying themselves.
  23. Just to throw a little inf on the fire... has anybody considered the gold farmer accounts that are out there? I'm sure they're sitting on quite a bit of inf

I know several people who played back in I1-4 (but don't play any longer) who're sitting on inf that's just rotting away... at least 5 of them were dupers - had 2b(? whatever max inf was back in those issues) on each character while they were able to do that. I realize these guys are a small drop in the bucket, but there are others like them with retired accounts sitting on piles of inf too. It isn't active inf in the system, but it is inf that is out there.
  24. I'd absolutely keep touch of fear. It stacks beautifully with cloak and can keep a mob out of action while you deal with his buddies.
  25. All powers that drain the enemy's blue bar.

I'd make mobs actually need endurance to use their powers instead of being able to fire off their big guns on a "sliver tick". I have no problem with them being able to brawl me on a sliver tick, but if I have floored their endurance they aught not to be able to clobber me with something that should require at least 10-15% available.
