I22 nerfs Burnout and Double Gangwar?

I was on a an event last night running iTrials. Everyone had a Time primary or secondary. There were several Thug/Time MMs doing the Burnout double Gangwar trick.....I think at one point there were over 200 of those guys running around.

Several players said that this was nerfed on Test already. Can anyone confirm?

Maybe not game-breaking in terms of balance, but that's a serious surge in assets (and consequently resources) if lots of people do it.

Almost all other non-MM Pets were flagged to not duplicate but instead to replace a long time ago. Gang War never was presumably because they forgot to or they thought no one would ever have enough Recharge to even attempt it.

So, if Gang War is no longer duplicatable, that would be considered a fix.

The only way I would consider doing that as a fix is if the devs said it was a fix.

To OP, people have a very bad habit of just making crap up themselves and frankly just flat out lying about this kind of thing. Why they do it when anyone can check IDK, maybe attention or something the cool kids do these days...

The use of burnout to recharge gang war or any other power still works on BETA just like it did before that guy just made up that lie.


The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Just FYI, there are no other pets that have a separate spawning power other then Thugs and Demons. Burnout does, in fact, work with Hell on Earth and using it on two Demons will allow them to both spawn multiple Hellfire spawns. However, I still didn't bother even taking Burnout on my Demon/Traps as it just wasn't worth losing my defense. But, thematically or just as a party trick, it is rather funny seeing 30 little hellfires running around.

To be honest, true or not, I can forsee the devs possibly changing Gangwar so it would re-spawn. It may not be game-breaking but I think it is was overlooked initially. I hope it isn't as I think it works well in various situations. Even with vast amounts of global recharge and hasten, nobody could spawn even close to 3 and as long as it stays that way, I think it will stay as is.

i think this was partially the reason, the power without burnout is impossible to perma

im not sure how this would affect hell on earth though

Soul Extraction would like a word with you. It also works with Burnout.

Personally I'd like it to stay that way. It's come up before in discussions about Cage powers and how any clever usage of the power to lock-down certain enemies is treated as a bug and immediately fixed. Using Burnout on a Rad/Rad to chain EM Pulse, Atomic Blast, Burnout, EMP, AB isn't considered "broken". It's unnecessary and mostly a party trick that can only be done once every 8 minutes at best. I'm sure some thought was given into the ramifications of what the power would allow certain combinations to do before it was added.

Indeed, starting a task force mission with a full set of necro pets plus 2 Wraiths is an amazing advantage.

I can't imagine double Gang War... it's the lag I am worried about!


What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

The lag in the aforementioned iTrials (BAF, Lambda, NTN) wasn't really any worse than 'normal' iTrial lag. And we had at least seven-eight Thug MM's running around with double Gang War activated.

Lag was most evident when someone would pop a group buff like AM. Which, along with the rest of Time's +RCHGE, was popping off almost every minute.

I'm going to have to see if I can find one of the screenshots of the end phase of the old-style Hami raids; back before the buffs would stack or have a counter, I remember having two rows of nothing but AM buff icons... and still only being able to use tier-1 powers every two or three minutes. I measure horrible lag against the old Hami raids; CoH has gotten bad sometimes, but nothing quite that ugly.
