Synergy with Beam Rifle
For myself, what makes for bad synergy with Beam Rifle is redraw. Fights can be over very quickly these days and if you find yourself putting away your rifle to heal a teammate or debuff your foes, you'll get a lot less shooting done. So, I actually think it works best with those "boring" passive sets like Force Field and Sonic Resonance. Run your toggles, buff between fights, and spend all the rest of your time shooting things.
I'll put a vote in for /rad as a good pairing.
For me, the debuff capabilities of /rad match up well with the disintegrate effect. A little farther down the chain /rad also has a targeted AoE slow effect which can be used to give you more time to let beam rifle do its work.
I'll agree that the passives (FF, Sonic) are also good choices depending on your playstyle.

I've been having fun with /Dark and /Storm. Although /Storm was pretty painful until level 16 and Freezing Rain.

I have too many stormies. maybe I'll stick with the more passive FF a while longer, because the argument of redraw does make sense. BR feels slow as it is.
I love what my BR/Rad brings to a team and is capable of solo. Debuff first and blast hard targets second and redraw isn't a problem. The pairing works extremely well late game when hard targets become more common. Perma hasten is easy to obtain late game which goes well with overcharge and when combined with judgement you'll have plenty of ranged aoe for steamrolling.
I've seen lots of people say BR should be paired with passive sets so that you can focus on blasting but that can be said about all blast sets.
I'm liking my br/cold. I just picked up benumb for a bit of debuffing goodness... the shields are decent and last long enough that I can blast away when on a team.
I also have a Beam/Cold corruptor which seems like the best combo to me. It definitely contributes to taking down hard targets. With Sleet, Heat Loss, Benumb, Disintegrate Piercing Beam, and scourge on top of all of that, it hits pretty hard.
Meh, BR/Rad does mesh well, but I still prefer BR/Traps. Just take stealth (or drop the Unique into SS) and SS and play "advanced recon" for the team. I just always run out of the spawn that is being mopped up, go to the next one, start setting up and by the time the tank gets there, I'm good to go.
I don't find that trap style very enjoyable, but to each their own.
I have a FF-Beam Defender that I'm really enjoying. Running Maneuvers combined with Tough/Weave makes you rather tanky, and I went Agility Alpha for more Defense among the other useful bonuses it grants. I don't see why this build wouldn't work on a Corr, just remember that you will get noticeably lower numbers on Dispersion Bubble, Maneuvers, Tough, Weave, and your epic armor (I went Temp Invuln and my Defender has over 70% S/L Resist) and this will add up to your Corr being significantly squishier than my Defender. While I still recommend this combo I don't know if you can handle the same difficulties my Defender can on a Corr.
There's also the "potential" uselessness of the Force Field set when people already have soft capped Defenses, but I was more focused on solo on my Defender.

My level 50 BR is a BR/Traps, the synergy works great because of the -regen and I love that toon, but the game is becoming more and more Traps unfriendly so I rolled a Rad/BR Defender, he's only level 9 but I can tell Disintegrate plus EF will be awesome. I'm almost tempted to reroll him as a Corr so I can take advantage of Scourge...
Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

Sonic Resonance has a minimal amount of redraw, is one of the few powersets with no -regen, and has too many toggles to afford firing off an end crash nuke.
This makes it a natural match with Beam Rifle.

I just started a FF/BR def (for vigilance) today to try it out and ran 4 sewers I think I'll stick with it. I definately did not like pairing it with kin or rad because of it's long activation times.

Beam Rifle/poison. It's a single hard target specialist. I love the scourge on the disintegration.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
I've tried BR but can't seem to get into it. I've tried /traps but I feel like it's pairing two slow sets, on a good team, the mobs are gone long before traps+disintegration comes into play.
I'm currently trying BR/FF because of the SciFi theme of that character. At low levels it's pretty boring.
any good synergy between sets that could make me not regret I bought the BR set?
