I need a good Street Fighter!

I want to level a Street Justice tank/brute/scrapper to 50 and trip it with all the nice expensive IOs with all the neat set bonuses like +def, rch etc. First thing I want is survivability. I was thinking of INV for that but its a pain trying to level to get to 50. Thinking willpower as well, but it doesnt seem as sturdy. I was leaning towards brutes but dont really have any high level experience with them, or their secondaries. And I think I am scrapped out. So basically Im looking for something with either high res or high def or a mixture of both that can survive when it gets hairy with 54s. Any suggestions/help please?

My suggestions would be Inv, Wp and the new Energy Aura. Elec can be survivable, if you get enough S/L defense into it. Fire wouldn't be as survivable, but it would add a lot more damage. You could also go with Shield Defense, although Shield Charge does work better on Scrappers.

Hows energy aura new? I heard/read it changed but whats made it better?

I have found my StJ/SR/Body quite survivable and with Spinning Strike and decent recharge on Spring Attack not as AoE impaired as you might think. And yes, the sets and IOs are quite nice and were quite expensive.

Take note, I have had to dial the difficulty down a bit in new DA.

I have a strj/inv scrapper and an elec/strj tanker. My tanker kicks butt much better than my scrapper and did all the way to lvl 30 (no idea when/if the scrapper is going to pull ahead). It may have to do with the taunt psi procs in all of her attacks that is making the real difference though.

+Rech was added to Entropic Aura(although it aggroes as a result; good or bad depending who you ask): +5% rech base, +3.5% per foe in area.

Energy Drain Now grants +Def per enemy drained, on top of the End you gain from it. +0.75% to def for the first drained, +0.375% for each past the first(These are enhanceable), it doesn't look like much, but somehow makes a HUGE difference.

Conserve Power transformed into Energize(like the Elec Armor verison, but different visual effect): Heal, +Regen.

I gave EA a third and final try with these changes, and it actually kicks some ***.

With Energy Drain, Weave and set bonuses, I actually could soft cap most typed def save Neg(about 40%) and Psi(about 15%).

They stuck it on a stick, dipped it in a vat of awesome-sauce, and served it to us with a smile.

It's serviceable in the low - mid levels. It's a monster once you have drain energy and energize.

The main problem with StJ/Energy is that one of your toggles makes your character and costume invisible to *you* .... or at least hard to see. That kills a lot of the reason to take any new set with cool animations like street justice: you cant really see yourself being cool!

Last I checked, you couldnt disable the self-invis like you can do on the similar dark armor toggle. But if they ever allow that, energy would be my favorite set. In terms of effectiveness, it is amazing now!

Lewis

/tho I hate the taunt in the toggles. But oh well.

I have a street Justice/Willpower Brute on Virtue which is awesome, and my friend as a Stj/Ea Scrapper which I've seen do great things, so both would be good, Stj/wp for a more natural concept or Stj/Ea for a more mutant/magic/tech concept, Super reflexes would make a good natural concept too.

Been leveling a StJ/Inv scrapper (36)on BETA. It is a set I thought I would not like, but by golly I really like it. After I buy Staff Fighting I might just level one of these.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

I'm liking my StJ/Fire scrapper.

Lots and lots of damage... and built for enough defense to keep her standing most of the time. Not the most survivable character in my stable, but she's absolute hell on wheels and fun to play

Hit a mob, your self-invis disappears.

Huh. Is that new?

I havent logged on my Brute in a bit, but I didnt think about it. He always used to be invisible-looking no matter what. I know because I run with the ghost aura and I always looked like a bipedal energy void surrounded by ghosts. My whole concept was built around it. Now, once I start attacking, I just look like a dude.

Dang. Not only did they kill my Ghost concept by making the taunt aura, but I dont remain looking like a Ghost anymore.

Oh well, its good for all the Street Justice players and TW players I guess. I'll just have to revamp my Concept and Costume a little.

Dark Armor's Cloak of Darkness doesn't suppress, so your costume is subsumed while its on, and the stealth doesn't suppress in combat!(grabbing glowies still does) Granted, not a lot of folks have love for DA.

Energy Aura is awesome but understand Darej that Energy Aura is a late blooming set. You will get your *** kicked at early lvls but once you get Energize you have good mitigation to damage and you can get unlimited endurance with Energy Drain.

If you go EA and are more of a brawler than a Tanker I would go Scrapper Stj/EA . Energize comes earlier for Scrappers at level 28 whereas Brutes have to wait until 35. A Brute will have more durability, AOE and Tanking ability though so choose what sounds good to you.
