Okay, I finally did it...

...replaced my very first character when I started with one that had I known more about the game I would have chosen better secondary powers.

Knight of Khonsu was a Dark Melee / Super Reflexes scrapper. However, the new revised Khonsu's Knight is a Dark Melee / Dark Armor scrapper.

In order not to make the same mistake in power selection I considering the following now and after (-) respecting.

Shadow Punch - Yes for now (Drop on Repec)
Smite - Yes
Shadow Maul - Yes
Touch of Fear - Yes (Might drop after respect, not sure)
Siphon Life - Yes
Confront -No
Dark Consumption - Yes
Soul Drain - Yes
Midnight Grasp - Yes
-------------------------------------------------
Dark Embrace - Yes
Death Shroud - Yes
Murky Cloud - Yes
Obsidian Shield - Yes
Dark Regeneration - Yes
Cloak of Darkness - Yes
Cloak of Fear - Yes (Not sure I'll want to keep)
Oppressive Gloom - Yes (Not sure I'll want to keep)
Soul Transfer - Yes

I will be adding Fighting (Kick, Toughness, Weave) for the defensive modifiers. Super Leap, Cbt Jumping, and Spring Attack.

For my Epic Power Pool, I believe I'll go with either: Body or Weapon mastery. The latter will fit my character's background as a former Operator for Delta Force. I had body before, but wasn't impressed with it.

So, that's what I'm looking at doing with this character. I'm not thinking about Incarnate yet because that's far off from now. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts? I welcome them. Thanks.

Current active characters: Dragon Maiden (50+3 Brute SS/WP/PM), Black Widow Maiden (50+1 Night Widow), Catayclasmic Ariel (50 lvl Defender - Kin/DP), Quantumshock (50 lvl Elect/Energy/Energy), American's Defender (38 lvl Tanker - SD/Mace), Spider-Maiden (15 lvl Corruptor - RB/PD) & Siren Shrike (15 lvl Defender - Sonic/Sonic). My entire stable.

I'd absolutely keep touch of fear. It stacks beautifully with cloak and can keep a mob out of action while you deal with his buddies.

Drop Shadow Maul. The slow animation kills your attack chain. When you get to mid- and high-lvls you can easily run Smite --> Midnight Grasp --> Siphon Life (or some combo of those 3 in another order if you prefer). I guess it is ok while leveling, but when you respec, I think you'll be very happy getting rid of it.

If you don't mind cycling through alignments to get access to the Patron Pools, check out Soul Mastery as well. Shadow Meld is well-known as a great ability, but I really love Dark Blast as well. I use it as my 4th power, when needed, and it is great to have a solid dmg, fast ranged attack.

EDIT: And I agree with the poster above, keep Touch of Fear. It's a great ability, especially if you plan to solo large groups (great to keep that pesky extra Sapper or Mu Lt. cowering in the corner for the whole fight). You can also double-tap bosses with it to shelve them as well. The Glimpse of Fear set has nice bonuses, too, if you decide to 5-slot the power (I did and don't regret it at all).

Agreed, regarding DM/SR.

Think of the -ToHit (or whatever) from DM as a sort of pseudo-"+Def". The less they see you, the more you dodge

Don't forget that Touch of Fear isn't just a strong control power. It's also a really hefty to-hit debuff, which stacks quite well with your +def if you stay SR, and isn't entirely worthless no matter what your secondary is.

I'm not sure how picking SR over DA is ever a mistake unless for some reason you hate your endurance bar ever being full.

Why did I not like SR? After using WP, Inv, and Shield with my Brutes and Tankers, I quickly soured on SR. Let's just say my experience with the performance of SR did not meet my expectations I was originally told to expect when I first started. Everyone has a power set the do not like or want to use again, for me it is Super Reflexes.

Dark Armor has better potential for survivability than SR. The amount of layered survivability from resists and defense that can be built on DA on top of the mitigation toggles and the -tohit from Cloak of fear stacking with the -tohit from Dark Melee sounds much better to me than playing SR (plus there's also Dark Regeneration,) but that's just my opinion.

This is why I chose to reroll my scrapper. After reading and comparing Dark Armor to Super Reflexes, and "hearing" others on this subject, I wanted to pair DM with DA. Besides the performance factor, conceptually, it works better with a character who received his power from the Egyptian Moon God. Well, at least in my mind's eye.

If anyone told you that SR is "uber" right from the get-go then that person is an idiot. In the late game and endgame though, it's a beast, especially when you get it IO'd. Meanwhile, my Dark/Dark Brute languishes at level 46, as I've been unable to develop a playable build for him. I've tried really hard but I just can't manage to enjoy playing him for more than short bursts of time when I'm just chewing the hell out of every enemy that dares come near me (then I die).

YMMV.

Well, for Tanks it is the strongest defense set at level 22.

Funny that you mention this about your Dark/Dark, my former Dark/SR was like that from mid-forty up. I had him IO'd out that took advantage of recharge. However, He could not last in PI, Rikti Warzone, or even attempt to any trial to unlock the alpha slot. Compared to my friends scrapper with Dark/WP (who I ran with a lot), my scrapper with SR sucked. The telling sign was in Recluses Victory. I thought the thing had a glass jaw it was that bad, regardless of what my IO enhancements were.

Right now, I am enjoying the new build. Last night, my close friend with his Gravity/Energy Assault Dominator and I started the second tier of missions for 'The Shining Stars.' The first mission was incredibly difficult for some reason. We ran into a number of red and orange leaders and all the minions were yellow as were the subsequent missions. My setting is +0. The performance of my build reminded me of one of my tanks at that level (11 - 12). I took a pounding to be sure; however, I dished out more than I received even with standard training enhancements. Endurance is my only issue. However, I believe I have a better control over it now that I am using the magical enhancements.
