Cons for corr: you get to buff up your team in addition to blasting. Redraw.
Pros for blaster: nobody expects you to buff up your team in addition to blasting. Buildup, boost range, hard hitting melee attacks if needed.
Cons for blaster: you don't get to buff up your team in addition to blasting.
For a serious answer: make both, run them to 20 or so and see which you like the best. The blaster will mature fastest, the corrupter gets better and better after 20 when the real buffs start opening up. To get to 20 quick, run DFB 4 times and Positron TF - this will give you a clear idea of which you have the most fun with.

Honestly, that depends on you. The one you prefer will be the better for the somewhat serious alt. I like corruptors better than blasters but there are lots of people out there who like blasters better than corruptors.
Do either happen to work better with DP than the other. It seems like Scourge could make the guns do more damage
I made a blaster dp/em and its meh. I have 3 other blasters and this one is the weakest.
I made a dp,ta corr thats meh lots of aoe.
I dont like DP after trying it 2 times.
Both times i got it to 50 and iod it well.
DP is just pfft.
I prefer almost every other set.
Without factoring in likes and dislikes, the dp/kin corruptor will outperform a dp/nrg blaster. The corruptor on it's own will do similar or better damage than the blaster after level 38 (fulcrum shift) as well as have better survivability (transfusion) and zero endurance issues (transference). Then when you factor in teaming, the usefulness of the kin will be miles away better than the blaster. However as mentioned, redraw will be a major setback for this combination, kinetics is a very active set and you will be redrawing your pistols very often, this issue will become bigger as you level up and start getting set bonuses. If you're not dead set on dual pistols and you want to play kinetics I'd strongly reccomend a nonweapon set.
Now whether or not you actually end up liking the playstyle of a corr vs the playstyle of a blaster is totally up to you. They play out very differently.

The scourge on TotalFocus is sickly fun though. But i agree just for team stuff the coor support sets are great. But for total fun i just dont like DP
I wanted to like DP i love the animations etc.. I just think its weak. There is much better out there.

Also how often will you see any benefit from scourge for TF on anything less than an EB. The mob needs to be below 50% health for any chance of it to kick in and at that point TF without Scourge will defeat them for any minion or Lt - you might see it on a boss but its a random chance - increasing with reducing target health which means more likely for the TF on its own to defeat them.
