Quote:I bug that almost every time I'm in there (that room is used for a few other missions, as well.) Exact SAME issue is in an instanced Shadow Shard map.Meaningless complaint? Complaining about a room where u can't see the narrow pathway u have to walk to get to the 4 generators u have to destroy, isn't meaningless.
It is more than a cosmetic bug. It affects targeting - I *cannot target* whatever's behind the "wall of invisibility," even if they can shoot ME just fine. Obviously not through clicking, and not through tabbing. Doesn't matter about video card or brand, CPU, version of Windows... it's been ongoing.
And yes, I agree it *should* have been fixed by now.
As far as Darkgob:
Quote:Areas of development that have nothing to do with bug fixes:
*New zone design
*New skins for existing maps
*New powerset design
*New system design
*Entirely new game paradigm design
We're going with trying to get new players in via COH Freedom. How are they going to react when (a) they see this bug - such as when they try to do Dark Watcher's last mission and invisible Nemesis are shooting them, or they see things disappearing as they go after the four glowies in the "Dont' fight patrols, get evidence" mission, and (b) they're told "Yeah. We know, it's been like that for years."
The bug itself is irritating to me. What's more irritating about it, though, is the slipshod impression it makes from not having been addressed for as long as it has existed. It didn't just happen. It's not an issue or two old. It predates Ultra Mode. I can't remember a time since the "Invasion" issue that it *didn't* happen. It's not something to be proud of or defend. -
Yeah, sort of the same idea as the Steel Canyon fires if you don't get them all out. "We're going to do damage. We're going to do a lot of damage. You *Will Not* survive." (unless you're standing in JUST the right spot - I've actually been standing on top of one of them, apparently in a very tiny dead zone, had it explode and do nothing to me. Which was weird. Another time I was just off a corner of the building. Never have found those spots again.)

Justaris pretty well summed it up.
Voids have, frankly, been neutered for quite some time. And they're not really put in to "balance against the power of Khelds" - they're in game for a story reason (the "epic" in EAT.) Admittedly some look rather silly in some places, but the game's evolved some since they were brought in.
I just look at them as extra crispy XP. -
Quote:Got a quote? And we've been told that will not happen. It took Castle 3 years to get the CoP changes, and the developers have said it will continue to start in bases.
I don't doubt you, mind, just wondering - since base raiding is nonexistant - if they mentioned the reasoning. (Besides having SOME reason to get the oracle/mission computer. That thing needs love.) -
Scratch bots mastermind.
Go for one of the bladed scrappers, and use the Vanguard weapons for something techy looking. (I'm assuming you had the badge they were giving out that just unlocked all vanguard weapons regardless.)
Alternately, wait and use the beam weapons set that's coming out with I21. -
List of slash commands
Don't see any on a quick skim that do what you're talking about. Only one I know of even close is /reloadgfx, but it's not the same thing. -
Right now, Sam?
Hmm, influences. Most, I can't think of names of, honestly.
My first SG leader (leaderS, actually, married couple) before we had bases - which was probably a good thing. I'm not sure they play any more, but really can't remember their names (sorry, guys.) The times I'm leading an SG or otherwise in charge of something (team, whatever) I try to emulate them. Very inclusive, moderating when needed - though that was rare.
Agent Snow - Became a good friend in and out of game. He and Kamre (long since gone) were the other parts of a kind of core "trio" that were with me as I took my blaster (in issue 3/4, with the early double debt and the like) to 50, went on badge tours with me and helped develop being able to seamlessly RP (no ((parenthessis abuse))) in with regular team chat. WarHorse, as well, for being a good in-game friend (and not freaking out TOO much when I'd run my blaster up right next to his tank to hit stuff, even if he said I gave him a heart attack doing so.)
My first VG on Pinn - again, can't recall the name. Negative influence is still an influence. They were loads of fun when we started, then turned into a prestige farm, really. Hated leaving after what was started (and some of the leadership were still good folks,) but it absolutely destroyed the group. (I believe they actually dissolved, or at least went inactive, within the year.)
The random people going around healing and buffing lowbies that need it. Formed a very early positive impression of the game, and something I tried to go around and do (randomly help out, that is. More than a few lowbies had recipes to sell dropped on them, or insps show up when they needed them if I'm not on someone who can directly buff.)
RO - for doing insane things with "underpowered" defenders.
And the friends who keep me going. -
Did I summon Dechs by mentioning warshades?
I'm going to have to be more careful.
... >.>
*wanders into random building, singing loudly, "DECHS the halls with boughs of holly...." * -
Yeeeah... as Amy_Amp alludes to, you're going to be watching your END a fair bit.
In any case, follow Local_man's advice. it's good - even if he *does* like Illusion.(That said, it's actually nice IMO to see someone asking for an SO build instead of "how many billions of INF in SOs can I stick in one?") Think I'd also ask how far along you are with it now, if at all.

Only guide I can think of that had anything to do with this (and that's from somewhat rusty memory) is pre-Ultra Mode. (JG007's guide? If I could think of the title, I'd give it a quick search for you to see if it's even relevant.)
I *want* to say it won't make much difference with the adjustment. But the people who would have more of a grasp of it would be up in Tech issues and Bugs. (Even though it's not a bug, it's a general tech-ish hangout.) You'll get a better answer there, I think. -

Quote:Good thing they're not, then. It's hard to be a MFing Peacebringer when your powers are designed to be self-defeating rather than self-reinforcing.
Seriously, what was the point of posting that? Don't like them, don't play them. If all you can do is complain about them, don't play them. I can't stand Illusion control, I don't go into the Controller forums and whine every single time Illusion is mentioned. -
Others have asked for it as a Scrapper/Brute set as well. Range/AOE heavy? See also Spines. I'm not sure how they'd work it out, but no, I wouldn't see it as "only" a Dom set.
(On the other hand, no, I don't see it being ported to Stalkers if it were a Scrapper/Brute set. That just seems silly.) -
Mine:
Raising a Peacebringer.
Also, if interested, Kheldian backstory, should you be interested in lore.
Hope they help. -

Quote:And neither of those have anything to do with the fact they'd need to come up with a whole new skeleton.if we tell the devs they cant do something, then what chance is there that they will even try. in the future there could possibly be dragons.
characters have wings
robots have a flying animation
it can be done, it just takes time
Besides, what difference do you think us telling the devs they can or can't do something makes? *chuckle*
Frankly, I'm against it simply for the fact that dragons at the scale they'd have to be to be mastermind, team and map friendly would look ridiculously small. You mention "Dragon" to me, and I'm thinking Great Beast. Less than that, and... eh. (And you're talking to someone who's made up "dragon-kin" as characters.)
YOU try fitting something whose head is as big as your body in a COT cave, much less an office building. Now stuff five more in there. Now try to go for donuts. -
Quote:/this.id like it, but you do remember that castle said that getting what they did was prohibitively resource heavy
IF it came out, I'd expect it (obviously) post-Freedom, and as a "premium" (IE, everyone pays, including VIP) power set, just due to the work we've been told would be involved. -
Quote:Consider:I might've thought so too, if I hadn't seen it happen. In a beta full of veterans, no less. One can only imagine how numb the noobs are going to be with performances like that out of people who ought to know better.
1. The beta had everyones character wiped. So yeah. Pile of noob-level characters.
2. There's only one beta server, versus all the live servers.
3. The cap for spawning a new zone instance has been lowered.
Don't think it'll be an issue on live. -
You can only get three total via trials. You can run the same trial over and over (though you have to level to the point of the next trial,) but you'll only ever earn three that way. Freespecs (such as at issue release) you can only have one. They tend to be replaced. Recipes, I believe you can only craft one at a time - but I end up with those so rarely... *shrug.* Vetspecs, you can have several waiting.
And of course if you don't want to deal with any of that, at level 10 you can use your second build. (Once you unlock alpha, you can use a third.) It does need to be enhanced, etc. separately. -
There are three of them, at 24, 34 and 44. The trial's different for hero and villainside. You do require a team (of four, I believe.)
Wiki link.
You can also get them (a) by buying/getting a drop of a Respec recipe, (b) getting some veteran respecs, or (c) the devs will *likely* give respecs out at issue 21's release. -
How cute, someone who can't understand that others have different priorities than they do and decides to make an assumption.
-
He did. And you called it a cop out. Like it or not, "immersion" *is* a factor for some people. If it isn't for you, then it isn't for you - but that doesn't make it a non-valid argument (or a "cop out.")
-
I expect it to be that bad... oh, never.
