He had, IIRC, written up something about it four times, so they have ideas on what to do with it. The biggest issue sounded like server load.

(I'm not sure what the rationale was for eliminating it in the first place, but the general attitude toward ease of access in the city has changed significantly since those days anyway.)
The rationale was that they put Galaxy City *in.*

Looking at the "world map" on Vidiotmaps, yes, there's a void there where you can see Kings and Perez "fitting together" initially. However, *gate* wise, they don't line up now. Galaxy city may be destroyed and inaccessible, but it's still *there.*

Unless there's a gate farther south in perez - which, if they did do a revamp, they might do - it wouldn't line up in any sensible way. Plus there's no actual GATE there. Just a checkpoint and a cement wall.

Bad enough Galaxy got destroyed. Let's not start pretending it never existed.

    /this.

For the amount of time it took for a few whip animations, they said they could have put out a whole set. The animations are what makes this much less of a possibility. They're just *Far* more work intensive than most other animations, and they tend to want to put that sort of effort where it'd get the most "bang for the buck."

Actually, for the ones I'm thinking of - since I don't typically IO out my builds (I have too many alts to play, that's where the fun is for me) - were hitting that "Useless slot" list with SOs. (My usual build ends up a mix of SOs, commons, and maybe a few bits of sets.)

IO builds, IHOP... er, IMHO, are where the "extra slots" would come into more play (and, again, possibly be a tad more trouble) because you'll have more bonuses coming in than you would before because you *can* squeeze in an extra whatever - even if it's .625% max health that you wouldn't before, or throw a "why the heck not" set in somewhere.

    QFE.

    They've been tweaked already.

As for PBs and WS, they've had powers tweaked this very issue (and a few issues ago, as well.) Build Up is now Inner Light, and lasts longer. Light Form is now perma-able and lets you switch forms. Both also got new powers. Mire was altered for Warshades not long ago to make it even more potent.
  8. Well, until Time Manipulation came along, you could call it Time manipulation.
    Nanobots
    Magic

    Of my Kinetics characters... hmm.
One's magic. Kin/Dark Defender. Found a book that gave a bit more about the goddess of the moon in all her forms than just words on a page.

One was a physicist kidnapped for specific knowledge by the Nictus and subjected to an experimental form of forced implantation - that didn't work, but gave abilities somewhat similar to some Nictus abilities. (Grav/Kin controller.)

Some are just "I felt like rolling a Kin to see how it works with this set."
  9. I've got different thresholds of tolerance.

Firing off a comment in the middle of a fight? I'm fine with "blue" or "thx" or RUOK? I get it.

Sometime when we aren't fighting? Take a little time. I get we have much LESS space than might be needed, so I still let a fair bit slide in "just chatting." But if u kep typin @me lik this, I'm going to start just ignoring you.

Broadcasting a supergroup advertisement? You'd *better* be taking your time. This is you presenting yourself and your entire group to the (game) world at large. I'd take "The Knights of Knees, a three year old Supergroup, is having a recruitment drive! We have a full base and participate in all facets of PVP and PVE. We're RP-lite, but welcoming. Send @so-and-so a message!" far more seriously than "nites of knees sg open 4 u! PST 2 @some-guy 4 info"

And the forums? You've *got* time. Make yourself presentable. At least make it so we can READ your post. I don't mean "Zero Tolerance for Typos" is in effect, and can even (to a point) deal with homonyms - though the basic ones (there, they're, their, too, two, to and the like) really should be used properly. The usual response is something along the lines of "I'm not getting payd to rite this" or "It's not my job to write an essay." Which is fair enough - so long as you're aware you aren't giving people a great impression of you.

If you take your idea, comment, suggestion or complaint seriously, write it in a way that will make others take it the same way. Here, presentation is key.

Not doing it does not let you reach a certain end goal though.

For instance, I have one of getting one of every control set to 50. (Damn them for bringing Electricity out!)

This means I get to play Earth, which I love. Ice, that I love. Mind, which I have far too much fun with. Fire, for scorchy fun. Plant, for environmentally conscious controlling.

And... Illusion. Which I *despise.* I well and truly hate that set. Getting that one to 50 was a relief, because I could finally toss it on the pile and get it out of the way. Once it WAS out of the way, I could go back to the other sets I have fun playing - and get closer to a personal goal.

Or, to take something *out* of game - people have hobbies that are "work" all the time. Building a boat. Building an aircraft. Building models - tell me, looking at something like, oh, this:

    or, say, this:

(Note, no, neither one is mine)

... that they wouldn't call rigging either of those "work." And for many (I think, being a modeler myself, and speaking to others for decades, I can say "Most" safely) people, rigging those kits *is* the least enjoyable part of the build - but without it, the end result is nowhere near as good.

So it is possible to do "work" - even "hard work" - while the overall goal is fun.

... I still don't agree with the OP, though.

    Yeah, I'd second that.

It was bad *before.* You could look at the occasional release image for the old booster packs, but that wouldn't tell you how Item 1 would look with Item 2 from another pack, and item 3 that's one of those "character defining" items. Or how they'd look in other colors.

Now... you can. And buy them *right there.*

I get the OP's POV, slightly - I just don't happen to agree with it, for the most part.

(As far as the "Already purchased," I do believe it will tell you "Limit exceeded." Which isn't clear, admittedly, and does need to be done better - and which I'm sure they're working on.)

    Eh.

Some of my characters could use them, sure. Others are going to be going "OK... now where the hell do I put THESE?" I do actually have characters I'm throwing away the last two slots on.

Of course, this means - if they get it working - more things getting six slotted, more piling on of sets, more power creep... like we're not already trivializing content at this point. Have to see how it goes. My triform khelds won't argue, though.
  13. /agree, Rory is really getting to be a favourite character.

And Amy... well, definite flashbacks to River and the Dalek while they were doing the whole Pandorica bit.

LITTLE bit of a copout ending... but it works, too.

    Catalyst 11.9

    So far, so good.

The only thing that doesn't want to seem to play nice all the time (and I'm trying to narrow down specifics) is alt-tabbing between two instances of the game. Alt-tab, pick the other game, click and you flip back to the first one.
  15. Depends on the AT - sometimes even the powerset - for me.

Most? Fairly early. Doms, for instance, feel like they take off VERY fast. The only ones that really seem to have a level?
    Khelds: Level 6 (Nova!)
Stalker: Level 12 (The Stalker Trilogy - Hide, AS, Placate - is now complete.)
VEAT: Level 26 (yes, even AFTER the forced respec.)
Masterminds: 24 (Second tier 2 pet, IOW "I'm out of the Zone of Suck.")
Illusion control: 49.9, because I can see that last bar filling and finally shelve it.
  16. *looks at Assault Rifle*

"I dub thee... Platypus A la Mode."

Yeah, I could see someone being against that. "I'm a PALM/Dev Blaster."
  17. /doesn't agree with the OP.

If I want control and damage, I roll Dom.
If I want control and buff/debuff, I roll Controller.

I still like them both - and am *quite* happy I can roll either on either side now.
  18. Test is not there for the convenience of players. It's open (when it is) at the developers discretion and for their purposes. If they need it to be down for some reason, it will be.

    Paragon Points

It sounded (on one of the last ustreams) like they may consider a way to let you buy points for others, or do something like game time cards with paragon points - not as in "We have it planned," but they seemed receptive to the idea.

We'll see if anything comes of it.

Pointy Ears is the only one I *know* was removed. I have a character with it. (And with Malaise pants.)

Thing is, a fair number of them didn't get removed. They DID get reordered. I've had to go hunt them down on occasion. So yes, "Face 1" is *different* now - but whatever the old one is likely has a different name in the menu.

Riiiiiight... they never did anything to the powers or anything.... nope, they're exactly as they were in I3.

    *sigh*

Also, I'm fairly sure (*cough* backstory guide *cough*) the Nictus did not rule the Khelds.

Feeling the drunk bump into him, the preacher led the drunk into the pond and dunked him. "Brother, have you found Jesus?"

The drunk grabbed a breath and said no.

The preacher, not quite sure what to do at this, dunked the drunk again. When he came up, he asked again, "Brother, have you found Jesus?"

The drunk sputtered and said "No!"

At his wit's end, the country preacher dunked the drunk and held him under for a good ten seconds. Hauling the drunk back up, he asked a third time, "Brother, have you found Jesus?"

The drunk asked, "Are you sure this is where he fell in?"

(Yeah, it's old, but it's what popped into mind.)

I do have a thread down in screenshots/fanart with various other pieces I've had commissioned (and sometimes gifted.) They're not all in there, though. Bunch of different artists. And usually fairly low cost (though going over prices, etc. is verboten on the forums.)
