Quote:The debt cap was cut in half at the same time we got the "no debt" level raised to 10 (and I want to say the same time debt got halved in missions.) Old cap at 50 = 1.1 (or 1.4?) million. Went from zero to that in one Hami raid.I can't find anything about this on ParagonWiki, but wasn't the debt cap also drastically lowered at some point? I remember having at least 5 bubbles of debt in the 40s before.
And the old debt *sucked* when, playing well, you'd pretty much fizzle out of content at 38. Hated seeing 35, since I knew it'd be a horrible drag for five levels to get to 40.
... and the timer was broken. Something like 10 hours between spawns - and hordes of rabid badgers hovering around watching. I didn't bother with it at all, useful accolade be damned, 'til that was fixed.Quote:Originally Posted by NeuroniaWe used to "defeat" Sally 11 times or something crazy, -

Honestly, the second part is probably bigger than the first as far as "why I never take it." Bring everyone to a full stop to sit and have their regen buffed? Meh. -
/em applaud.
Though, nova and dwarf... Yeah, the performance shifter proc helps. In an "if you have the slots for it" suggestion, there are some other possibilities as well -
- +Perception. Low priority, but helps smack down demon lords/spectrals/ancestor spirits that are trying to hide and fly away.
- Winter's Gift slow resist. For what I'd hope would be obvious reasons, though you may want this elsewhere. (And obviously - wait, ski, get it free over the holidays instead of at market prices.)
- Build up proc. Why not. *shrug*
Of course, we're khelds, a "slot I'm not doing anything better with" is a luxury.
I still have an ingrained wariness about the early Nova slotting you mention. I *know* when I finally do so, the week after we'll get a patch that "Fixes" that little bug (at least it used to be seen as a bug. Not sure of the official stance ATM.)
When looking for cheap sets, don't forget that pretty much every... single... attack has a slow component. And go name one expensive Slow set. Now, honestly, you'll end up grabbing the Acc/End most likely, or possibly a triple (which will have a touch of slow,) but in another "if you have the slots" (and if you want something to go along with neg. damage,) don't forget the Chance for Smashing proc. (Which, frankly, *is* probably the most expensive of any Slow set piece.)
Last bit, I always try to add some range to the Nova cone in either a PB or WS nova, just so its range is closer to that of the other attacks. I don't *want* to duck in and out for one attack. -
Quote:You mean the pylons that launch a *volley of missiles* at you, each of which do damage? Even the - what was it, 30,000 point hit from an exploding Steel Canyon building hits three times. Specifically to avoid the one shot rule and guarantee enough damage to kill you.Secondly, people, I dont know where you keep pulling this 'Oh you cant be one shotted' crap from. Yes you damn well can! You cant get one shotted from FALL DAMAGE. NPCs are fair game. Go run at a pylon in RWZ and see how far that gets you. Enemies can and WILL one shot you if they can. No exceptions.
And they are still absolute wusses compared to how they were. Not to mention the stun - for a human/dwarf or triformer at least - has been made less of an issue than it was thanks to being able to shift into dwarf while stunned (and thus shaking it off, then self buffing, healing, attacking - which slows the rate of *their* attack and has a chance to knock them down, etc.)Quote:Onto the special enemies, Voids/Quants and Cysts. Voids and Quants are one minion, LT or Boss that spawn in random mobs. The minions are annoying, but bearable. Now, despite what everyone else harps on about 'oh, their wusses now', 'not dangerous at all';
BULL - ****
Lieutenant and Boss class Voids and Quants are dangerous. They do VERY High damage to a low HP AT, have nearly 100% chance of knockdown and even a chance to stun.
What techbot needs to disclose about that, before the OP goes "Woah!" is that that's at least a four person team's worth. (check the chat log.) If you see that, grab some lucks, head in, mire, eclipse if you have it, be a godling of destruction. The biggest threat with a 'bloom' is that each of their attacks, like each of yours, slows your recharge if it hits. (Well, that and the crystal explodes.)Quote:Cysts, now. Cysts are lethal if you run in unprepared. If you are careful, they only spawn a few Nicti clouds, which can then be obliterated along with the crystal.
IF your unlucky, you get this;
And yes, remember this.Quote:'Epic' means 'Epic content/storyline', not 'Godmode toon'. -
Quote:See, I never felt that way even *before* the buffs. I'm doing damage and - team crit buff aside - choosing when and where to crit with Placate. (Not to mention it's helpful to team with a dom and take advantage of their holds.)Sadly, I have to admit, with GR around the corner I will never make another Stalker again.
Yes, they can scrap...but not as good as a Scrapper. The one-shot-pow AS is a cute trick, but that's really all it is. Once I've popped the big one, I feel unbelievable useless. Never has AS been a differance-maker on a team, and never have I felt like I was even contributing.
My *actual* problem with Stalkers, such as it is, is a lot like one of my problems with VEATs. With a VEAT, I don't feel like I've even started the character 'til 24 and the respec. With stalkers, it's hitting 12 for the Hide-AS-Placate trio. (My other problem is that Stalkers are such incredibly *tight* builds most of the time, even for PVE - it's rather unforgiving.)
Putting Placate into the inherent powers - slottable for recharge - would loosen that up a tiny bit. -
-
Quote:See also "Quick recovery."And lose out on at least one power thanks to "Hide" which grants phenomenal AoE defense and good melee/ranged while hidden.
But the tiny defense bonus of an unstealthed Hide power isn't always equal to whatever power they might be missing out on.
-Rachel-
Sorry, the answer we got on that when Willpower was designed still *greatly irks* me. ("Stalkers will never get a quick recovery power" - despite finding it just as useful.)
That said, stalkers have already been buffed a few ways -
- Missed ASes not breaking hide.
- Hide kicking back in faster.
- Chance for AOE Fear after successful AS
- IIRC, higher crit chance when on a team (or when teammates were near.)
There are (non PVP) issues with stalkers, still - perception/stealth is still greatly binary. Either you can stand right in front of a group and /em dance, or you're seen and attacked from two rooms away (snipers, drones.) No real in between. They're still *seen* as one trick ponies (even if they can scrap, TYVM.) They got a bad rep in PVP that carried over, they've gotten a bad rep for being the "soloist on the team" in PVE (explore the map while the team's fighting, for instance) - but that only changes by changing the players, not the AT, and erasing those biases takes time. -
Video card memory is soldered onto the video card itself. It's not like going from DDR/DDR2/DDR3, where you have to put it in yourself. If you go from (say) your 8800 to an nVidia 460, the memory and everything else the card needs is already there - just need a mainboard with an open expansion slot of the right sort and (depending on card) the proper power leads.
(Looking at it another way, it's like having a car with a v6 and wanting to buy a new one with a V8 - you don't have to do anything for the V8 but buy the car.) -
Personally, I'm ready to be able to play the content. I found myself just not doing much in Praetoria because I don't want to come into GR-Release with a "yawn, been there, done that" at the content.
Poked my nose in, tested a bit on the sets (finally, my electric Dom will LIIIIIIIVE!) but honestly, I avoided quite a bit. Don't think I took a Praetorian past level 10. (Well, running into doors to nowhere and the like earlier didn't help that.)
Think that's why I enjoyed the AE beta so much - you *couldn't* really burn out on content, just test the stuff that'd help make it (and be amused/confused/amazed/dazed by the bugs.) -
DO NOT use the Wikia site. It's been overrun by spammers and the like, and is not "really" updated by the people who actually RUN the COH wiki.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page (same as paragonwiki.com, both direct to the same site) is where you should be going. -
Quote:I'm guessing unlimited since it is just a week.Woot! Free Transfers!
Does this have a cap, like the last time you guys did this? Or is this an unlimited amount of transfers since the offer is only for a week?
Still planning on just pulling a Dom off of Freedom that I forgot last time. Can't think of any other shuffles I want to do. -
I shall make a boat of cheese to prepare for the fresh onslaught of whine.
Prediction of top two topics:
"I only get in now?! (add "What a ripoff/slap in the face" for flavor.)
"Wait, this is it?" (aka "You mean they didn't rewrite every arc in the game and introduce 10 new ATs?") -
Last time they did it, it was for X number of weeks (3 weeks?) and something like 7 per week - or rather (again, IIRC) the transfers would refresh after a week.
I'm sure they'll give more details. (Not really planning on moving anyone, I don't think. Might pull a Dom I have off of Freedom.)
From the announcement, though, it just looks like "We're not charging for them that week." -

Launching garden gnomes to the other side of the plaza.
Not great XP, but still fun.

Quote:Options:Has anybody ever been able to explain just how exactly a Tax is Value Added?
1. You are now paying more for the item. This makes its purchase a greater burden on your finances and thus more valuable to you. Hence, value added.
2. Purchasing this item adds more trackable, saleable things (as opposed to that "money" stuff) to you and your household, opening up doors for new fees and taxes, thus making *you* more valuable to the government's tax collectors. The value is added to you. (And my advice to those who die, declare the pennies on your eyes...) -
The idea behind it? Interesting.
The consequences? "I have to leave for X reason" - legitimately. What does it do to the rest of the team? If it deprives them of a buff, what are those members going to do when that person (and I'm looking more at a PUG situation, though it could I suppose get nasty in SGs too) shows up again and looks for a team? Someone getting sick, or having a kid to suddenly de-glue from the ceiling fan, family medical issues, or just plain "I've been awake 28 hours, need to sleep now" could, in theory, find themselves blacklisted... making it *harder* for them to find a team.
Or what about the late joiners? I can see (with my decided lack of faith in humanity) people just not wanting to have someone tagging along not as "buffed" as they are, thinking - however wrong - they'll end up as a liability.
What about task forces? (In some ways I could see this being good, potentially slowing down some of the 'speed runs' - .... ok, probably not - but OTOH I'd have to see them altered to have to counter these buffs.)
Worth trying to hammer this stuff out though. -

Quote:Eh. I suppose. Then again, I'd rather have the "costume" badges on Halloween let you "keep" a costume instead of having it vanish. (There are a few. Have a "kept costume" for each.) Maybe turn in some salvage for something to keep, too. (So that "Hey, I have 31 BAB gloves and only one LR mask!" means you'll have a use for a bunch of those gloves.)I have never been able to go to any of the conventions where all the awesome freebie costume codes fly around. I have been a loyal player since the game was in open beta. How about throwing those of us who can't attend these conventions a bone by putting together purchasable costume code packs? Ten bucks for ten costumes? I think that sounds fair.
Meh. And who "needs to farm Shivans?"Quote:Also on a semi related (and funnier) note, I think they should have Positiny™. He would be a unique EB debuffing pet purchasable (as in all the packs), for say twenty five dollars, that would have a cool down of... one hour? That way we would not have to farm shivans all the time. -
At least one Elec/Elec Dom waiting to be made that will be destined to be heroic. A few characters that are going grey. After that, who knows.

Just... stop coming to them? Unsub from any threads you're subbed to, stop coming to the boards, and there you go.

Right click, add player note, one star, note why, and drop the team. -
Also, you don't have to wait for 50 if there's something else you want to try. *points down to signature* Dual Builds open up at 10.

I wasn't gonna bother trying to explain this for TCS... but since you got tripped up on it as well... this was created largely in response to the latest Get Rid of Group Fly thread. It's intentionally over the top and ludicrous in the opposite direction.

Well, correction first:
We didn't get another page or two when COV was released. We did, *if you had both games* (or both parts, or whatever) get a bump up from 8 to 12 slots. We didn't get the extra pages 'til after the Good vs Evil edition came out (as I recall... given I used that for a second account prior to having more slots.)
Yes, I'd like to see it.
No, right now it seems as though it's not in the cards from recent dev responses. I don't know if it's a technical (database?) limitation or not.
