symbol as if you were going to rep yourself. Instead of giving you the option to rep, it'll tell you what rep you received on that post, and give you your total.
As for the OP's question, a quick web search says that the standard vBulletin program caps reputation at about 268 million (268,435,456), and there is no option to change it without installing special scripts. -
It might depend on what specific item you are referring to. Not all costume parts actually have a secondary color. Even though it lets you change it, it does nothing because that part might not use it.

That's just the typing sound. It's designed to be there. It might be possible to replace the sound file with a silent one so you don't hear it anymore, but you'd have to know the exact sound file that's responsible for it.
I silenced the sounds responsible for the Portals in PI, but I followed specific instructions how to do it. I don't know enough about it to tell you how to fix the typing sound though. -
Quote:The bind would only operate to whichever screen has the focus. Is there anyway to have your keyboard fire off powers for both characters? Like if my primary attack is in the first slot on both, pressing 1 would fire them both off?
I suppose there might be some third-party stuff that might let you send commands to both instances, but then you might get into a hairy rules situation. -
I'm kinda on the fence about this one.
I like them because they are another challenge. I wouldn't mind if there was a "Mo" for every TF, though I admit it would be a pain in the neck to go back through them all to get the extra badge... so one or two added from time to time is probably better than all at once.
That having been said, I will offer the opposing viewpoint as well. Though the group of people I usually run with just likes to have fun together and we don't really take any failed attempts personally, it's not a typical scenario.
It seems that on the larger scale and many PuG attempts can end with hatred of the person who dies first, even if it's not even that person's fault. That person is sometimes harassed and kept out of any future attempts, especially if it happens more than once. People get uptight and freak out about little details that don't matter and/or things nobody has any control over.
Some people try to form teams with specific ATs and builds. They want you to be "IO'd out" or have other very specific qualities they are looking for.
That can make it very hard and stressful for some people to have fun playing through a Mo attempt, and people with non-optimal toons are sometimes left out completely.
Maye if the badge was awarded on an individual basis instead of being reliant on the rest of the team surviving as well, then somebody else dying would be their own fault, and they would be the only one losing out on the badge. Then again, that policy could be exploited for perma "venge-bait" and defeats the purpose of being awarded for working as a team to survive together.
In the end, I'm not wishing for more to be added, but if they arise... I'll happily step up to the challenge, and anybody is welcome to join me regardless of build or experience. With enough practice, any toon can get the badge eventually. -
WB Myrdinn!
So, as many of you saw from our channel talk.. we had some issues. lol
First, there was a Cairn summoned behind the first wall where we could not get to it. After several minutes of messing with the ambushes and not making a dent on the wall itself, we decided to all relog to reset the mission.
On the second go at it, the wall went down very easily. We then went on to get our Ambrosia and take down the other wall as well.
We decided to free the Heroes first, and then we took out all the mobs in the Acid pool (it was actually just water in that room though). We didn't take out the outer mos figuring we would take him down quickly.. which we almost did. We literally had him down to 1% when there was a complete wipe from the ambushes taking us over.
After we regrouped, we just took out the final mobs to avoid a repeat of the first attempt. He had regen back to full at this point but went down without any further issues.
Final results were:
1:50:45
32 deaths

It was a fun time as always. Special thanks to Goldberg for hosting our team this week. Thanks to Luna as always for organizing things and keeping us busy every Monday night. See you all next week! -
What Roderick said is correct. You are referring to the "Invite-a-friend-back" program, which acts slightly differently than the regular "Refer-a-friend".
For an "Invite-a-friend-back" invitation, the person being invited back MUST reactivate by paying for a month of service in order to play and get the free time. In the regular"Refer-a-friend", the invited player can play right away, but the sender does not get any free time until a subscrption is paid for. -

Quote:Not for nothing, but character/account sharing is against the rules. I'm aware that MANY people probably do it, and it seems to be overlooked for husband/wife or father/son pairs (for example), but I figured you might want to realize that advertising it on the forums might not be a good idea.My Significant Other and I have decided to share a character for the first time (both of us hate levelling up Healbots, but like having one available to play, if a team requires it).
Anyway... to answer your question:
Quote:If I save a "blank" Binds file, where everything is set to "nop", before loading the player's file, will that help?
"bindloadfile player1.txt"
"bindloadfile player2.txt"
Run this:
"unbindall$$bindloadfile player1.txt"
"unbindall$$bindloadfile player2.txt"
What happens when you load any bind file is it simply overwrites the existing binds for the keys listed. A problem with doing that for complete bind files if one file contains a bind for the letter Y (for example), but the other doesn't, the Y will never change, even though one player doesn't use it. It's like trying to paint a new picture on a canvas without first painting white over the old one. Part of the old painting will always show unless you cover every possible spot.
This means that if you and your "significant other" not only use different commands, but different keys as well, you may be just adding too much to the database by stacking the files multiple times without resetting it inbetween. -
Thanks!

I have tried asking Forum management to do it for me a long time ago, but I got no response.

June 2010:
June 2010 CoH Calendar
June's Calendar features Lusca, the giant octopus from Independence Port!
I wanted to feature something that utilized the new Ultra Mode graphics, so I went with some nice water reflections. If you look through the calendar (the 7th), it even has a shadow from one tentacle to another. -
If it's not published, then it should be in a local file on your own computer. For example:
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\missions\ArcName.storyarc
As long as you don't delete it, you should always have it. -
Quote:I agree with this. It feels weird having reflection effects in the sewer. It doesn't explain why the dead ends were not changed when the rest of the map was though.IMO, the old water texture seems more appropriate for sewer maps. Sewage shouldn't be crystal clear.
Not for nothing, but I don't even think it makes sense in most of the water areas in the game either. It's nice to see, don't get me wrong.. but it isn't realistic.
For example, real reflecting pools are typically shallow with a dark lining under the water. Those little pools in Atlas probably wouldn't work in real life, and most ocean reflections consist of nothing more than light from the sun. Then again, the oceans in this game are very calm, which would make the reflection of buildings more common than real life as well....
That's what we need in this game.. WAVES! Especially if they an interact with you, we could go surfing. rofl j.k
That's what I have observed as well. The very last section of every dead end seems to have the old texture, and splashes differently as well. -
Quote:It's the same command. To put it directly in the command line so you dont' have to ever think about it:Thanks all
We have an awsome community !
Yes we used to have a code we added to the launcher .exe to lower the inactive process something simmiler to what we add to load test.
That MaxinactiveFps (number) seams to work fine.
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe" -maxinactivefps 5
and for those that skip the updater...
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh -maxinactivefps 5
On a side note, I also use the command that automatically sets full World Detail at 400% on launch, since the options always reset to 200%:
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh -maxinactivefps 5 -visscale 4 -
Just a side note, I don't use /showfps 1, I use /showfps 0.1 instead. That makes the numer update 10 times a second instead. I'm just crazy. lol

I think that should be changed. IIRC, it's only checking for a certain version of OpenGL to see if the card is capable of running the program, not that it'd be playable on 60fps, or even 30 for that matter.

Quote:I didn't just compare clock speeds. You are right, I didn't say the "else" were equal, but I went on to say the other specs were slightly better but insignificant in this case.In your post, you didn't mention that the "else" was equal, you simply compared clock speeds.
Quote:Most people are unaware that that clock speeds aren't the only thing determining performance, and from the content of your post, it looked like you had made the same mistake.
Could I have included an entire spec-by-spec comparison? Sure.
Is it wrong because I didn't? No.
Does it matter? No.
How about we just agree to agree? -
Quote:Like you said, if the "else" is equal, and I resorted to comparing clock speeds instead, how was it wrong? I don't understand why you keep telling me I'm wrong by saying I'm right. That doesn't really work. lolYou're not following my reasoning. Only if all else is equal is a comparison of clock speeds a useful way to compare cards. In this case, the "else" is the number of texture units, and it is equal.
Quote:Following your reasoning (clock rate is the main factor, everything else is minor) leads to the conclusion that a GTX 295 (core clock 576MHz, memory clock 1998MHz) is slower than a GTS 240 (core clock 675MHz, memory clock 2200MHz). A comparison of number of functional units or a comparison of fill rates says that the GTX 295 is at about four times faster.
Fact of the matter is there isn't any significant spec increases.. which is why the OP doesn't notice any major performance increases. That's all there is to it.
Is the 260 better overall? Yes. I never said it wasn't. I even admitted from the beginning there were other specs involved that make it the better card... but overall the differences are minor, so don't expect a huge improvement over the 9800. I don't get your argument here. You keep saying the same thing I did to begin with. -

Maybe the power in your house is not very reliable to begin with... especially if you are having problems with power outages and surges. That's even more reason to have a UPS.
In my case, I used to live in an old old house that had fuses instead of circuit breakers. The hallway, my bedroom and the bathroom were all on the same fuse. If I had my TV, DVD player, Computer, and Air Conditioner running, turning the light on in the bathroom would sometimes cause the fuse to blow. I pretty much had to decide "TV or Computer", not both. And God forbid if my girlfriend decided to use a hair dryer while I was downloading something. haha
Anyway, after expressing my concerns about the outdated power in the house, the owners (who I was/am friends with) decided to finally upgrade to a fuse box and a more stable incoming line from the street. They also split the lines between each room and even included a separate one just for the air conditioner. The problem went away, but I'll stil be using a UPS no matter where I move to. -
Quote:Like I said, there are other specs and factors that will make the card slightly better, but as the OP found out, it's not very significant overall for CoX.The 260 GTX has 50% more shader units, exactly as many texture units, and 75% more raster units.
Quote:It's much better at pushing pixels onto the screen, but with the slightly lower clock speed, it's worse at computing complex textures for those pixels. Much of Ultra Mode is complex textures.
As mentioned before, ATI's line blows away NVidia for the same cost range these days, but there are side effects of some options not working well together that some people don't want to have to deal with. To me, that makes upgrading from even the lower 9600gt not worth it at this time either. I'm not saying there wouldn't be any difference at all, but not as much you'd expect for a $200 upgrade from a 2 year old card. -
Quote:That's providing it isn't already live. Because of the issues, it's been hard to prove it one way or the other. lolI think Castle is just getting things set for the upcoming MoLGTF... >.>
I don't know when the last raid was that you attended, but there are almost always people just hanging out in the zone not even helping and waiting for it to be almost over so they can go in and "steal" their HO.
Just because 50 people is the maximum allowed in the zone, does not mean that 50 is required. We've done it with far less.
