Which number is which for showfps?
So I searched and found one number is framerate and one number is ping but I really don't know which is which when I /showfps 1.
In my upper right I have 11.36 (87.8m/Fm) I think the lower number is the ping and the higher number is the framerate but all of my searching hasn't really shown me which is which. And in either case what does the m/Fm stand for? |

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
Going below 30FPS makes me twitch. But I've read plenty of people post that they find the game fine at 20FPS. I will never understand such statements, but there it is.
Be well, people of CoH.

With tweaking I have it up to 29. I'll see how well it goes.

Well, when you're like me, and have never played above 20 FPS, then there it is.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:

Just a side note, I don't use /showfps 1, I use /showfps 0.1 instead. That makes the numer update 10 times a second instead. I'm just crazy. lol

At the end of the day everything is a compromise and some of us will happily accept slightly lower framerates to play with higher graphics settings - others won't.
Its not as if this is a game where split second reactions make all that much difference in normal pvm gameplay.
The difference between 20 and 30 fps whilst noticible is not sufficiently so for me to justify the extra cash needed to obtain it whilst maintaining other settings others will have different opinions on this as what is acceptable is a subjective decision. I certainly have better places to spend £500 than on a top end graphics card others have different priorities.
Its more those that think they can see the difference between 70 and 90 fps that I don't understand.
Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant

I spent $1200 on new innards for CHV Ultra Mode and the seemingly vaporware Mechwarrior reboot.
My wife and I just spent $4000 on getting our house ready to sell. We're about to drop $1800 over the summer months for day care and $200000 on a new home once ours sells.
In the grand scheme of things, $1200 every two years for new hardware to stay near the tech edge is a bargain. As you said, priorities are different for everyone.

Boy did I make a boo boo playing with my settings last night. I managed to drop to 1 or less frames per second. I think it took me about 5 minutes to get it set back all because one stupid slider I accidentally pulled too far over.
I think they need to make no changes work until you click apply if you are in the ultra mode settings.
I concur with Bill's views on hardware and look forward to the day when I can return to buying the top stuff.
I have to say when I compare my 4 different machines even medium is a lot better looking than the lowest one. But the highest? It makes playing on the others very sad.
