Quote:Indeed, my coh\data folder is shared on my network with a shortcut on my laptop's as well. Too funny.I have that one. I also have my binds file accessible on my laptop to edit on the fly. Have found it very useful for setting up my MM and testing new binds.
On a side note, I also keep my screenshot folder shared so I can easily post stuff onto the forum. I don't do any browsing on that PC at all. -

It's hard to say.. if I found something useful that I didn't have a bind for, I'd bind it and I wouldn't be missing it anymore. Many of them have come from player requests in this forum that sounded like a good idea and we improvised. lol
I even have a global bind that reloads my global bind file in case I add something to it. haha -
Quote:I have a key globally bound to quickly give me more info on somebody I see in-game:Alternatively, and often easier...if you have their name in your chat anywhere (like, they said something, not someone used their name) just left click on their name, a menu will pop up and one of the choices will be "get Global name".
/bind KEY "info$$getglobalname $target"
That will show me their Global Name in my chat window, as well as pop up their info window to see their bio, powers and badges. -
Sorry for the delay. I pretty much totally forgot about this until I got a few messages in game telling me I was late.. haha. I might as well do both July and August at the same time. Well, since I'm making these really quick, I'll have to just look through my existing screenshots and see what I can dig up.
July 2010:
July 2010 CoH Calendar
July's Calendar takes place in the Shadow Shard!
The Storm Palace: I took this a week or so ago for a thread in the Tech forum regarding the texture of the shield around it's perimeter. There really isn't much else to the reasoning other than I love the Shard and it was a decent available backdrop for a calendar. haha
August 2010:
August 2010 CoX Calendar
August's Calendar gives a unique view of the Rikti Mothership.
I like this one because it displays the underside of the crashed ship in Rikti War Zone that nobody ever gets to see. How did I take it? Well.. I apparently spend too much time looking for holes in the maps instead of actually playing the game. This isn't the first calendar I posted that required having to get under the map. I make a hobby of it. lol
I hope you enjoy them. Sorry again! -
What Ironblade said.. When the single blow of damage puts you under your normal hp cap, the whole blow will usually count.
-
Yeah, I saw that, but all that meant to me was that it was the only option you didn't have cranked all the way up... not that it was completely off. For all I knew you might have had it on low, and it gave me hope that the conflict was already fixed... well I hope it comes soon. weeee! lol

Quote:I'm running an old system with a Core2Quad 2.4 (OC to 3.0), and I just upgraded from an NVidia 9800gt to the Radeon 5770, and it runs everything on full Ultra Mode at 30+fps reliably. Missions are usually capped at 60fps, and some busy areas or certain parts of villainside drop it a little lower, but I'm happy with the performance. FSAA is turned off due to conflict with Occlusion though. I can raise the average fps even higher if you keep occlusion on the performance setting as well.Pretty nicely, I would think?
Maybe not with EVERYthing on max...
But if I were you, and looking to spend around the same amount of money (or even a little less), I would get a Radeon 5770 instead of the GTX 260. The performance is comparable, but the 5770 supports DirectX 11 and costs a bit less. Or, for a little bit more, you could get a Radeon 5830 and even better performance. It all depends on how much you want to spend.
Are there any other games besides CoH you'd like to be playing on this system?
I'm not sure how the gtx260 would have performed if I picked that one instead, but I wasn't hearing much of an improvement over what I had before, so I went for the "better" card as well.
Is Occlusion on low, or are you saying you went with FSAA instead of Occlusion? I like the effect, and I'm hoping the conflict gets fixed. I haven't been keeping tabs on it. lol -
I might not be able to make this one.... again. I'm sorry to have to skip out 2 weeks in a row, but this is why I didn't want to be in charge of Team#2. (Thanks again Rox for stepping up.)
If you guys really need the extra body, I might be able to squeeze in, but don't feel bad if you have to fill my spot before I get here.
See you guys later tonight either way. Good luck! -
Quote:We can not see the names of people who give rep unless they purposely add their name to the comment.is that really a reason for giving me a negative rep?
and there's not even a name listed of the person that gave me that score
Some people are really picky. Don't let it bother you too much.
If it means anything to you:
I just turned you green again.

I've been seeing that ever since the first day of Ultra Mode. I can't rememer if it happened for me on Test or not, but it doesn't happen every time I go there either. It doesn't seem to matter if the zone is busy or if I'm the only one there... it just seems random. Sometimes it runs a few cycles and stops, other times it displays normally right from the start, and other times it goes on forever like your video.
Add me to the "I thought this was already a known issue" crowd. -
Quote:You're very welcome. It's all in a day's work. I love to mess with commands and tweak the way things work. You should see what kind of mess my actual bindfile looks like with silly extra stuff that normal people wouldn't have. hahaPerfect! I knew some clever person would have a good idea. Thank you! Now my GC toon I.D. reads:
@name (Toon Name, 11MM) or
@name (Toon Name, 11BL)
You rock Silverado.
...but my name is not Silverado*.
*((Waves to Silverado)) I'm not saying you don't rock.. just that he quoted more than one person and I'm not you... or something. haha -
Quote:Welcome to the game. Glad you are enjoying it so far. Thanks, ill be checking it out after im back from shower^^ Enjoying the game so far. IGN: Makikou
Extra info:
When using the train systems, the entrance and exit are in two different places. It's common for new people to go to the wrong city and want to click the gate to get back on, but you'll have to exit from the side of theb uilding, then re-enter the front area to get back on and re-choose your new destination. -
Look on the map for a location marked with a T. That is the Train system. If you go up the ramp and into the middle, you can click on the gate to access the destinations for that train, and select Galaxy from the list.
Good luck! -
I believe the question was if any other zones restrictions were still in effect. Ouroboros qualifies for sure.

There isn't a command that we know of, but you can make a workaround. If you put "Heroside" or "Villainside" as your Battle Cry on your ID card, you could use $battlecry to insert it into a phrase in a bind or set of binds. Then when you switch sides, you can just edit your battlecry and all your binds will automatically reflect that.
For those who like utilizing f10 for the $battlecry, simply rebind the phrase instead:
/bind f10 "say <insert custom battlecry here>$$emote attack"
Then you don't lose the function of your key, and you've given yourself a place to store your own variable for other binds. -

I guess it depends if they like the proc or not. Depending on the set and depending on the power, I might change some things as well, or even substitute one proc for another. Even a set as basic as Sting of the Manticore (Sniper), it might be beneficial to skip the proc and slot some extra damage, interrupt, recharge, or even save the extra slot to improve another power.
It's not always about set bonuses. Like you said, some of them stink. -
I just tested my Fortunata Mistress and it died promptly at 4 minutes. A weird unrelated thing though... instead of doing it's usual "poof" animation, it simply collapsed on the floor. Maybe I'm just recalling incorrectly.

Quote:My point was that somebody could have logged onto an old character that was already through a previous hole and teleported the rest of his team. Usually teleporting doesn't work down there, but there are glitches to that as well. These where 4 current charecters that PvP in RV on Freedom often and tend to target me -
And of course there is always the possibility that another hole has opened up that I have not found yet. It took me and another guy about 4 hours to find a hole in Steel Canyon once. I don't spend much time in RV these days, and somebody just killed my blaster as I was flying around searching for ideas, so I stopped looking for today. haha
Maye you'll just want to send a /petition for exploitive behavior for now, and maybe their logs can show the support team how they got down there. -
-
This is so true, and there are still ways to get outside of several maps that were never fixed. I have yet to find one in RV.. but I have to say I haven't really looked before today either. lol
I know of a way to get under Atlas Park, but that specific location is not available in RV. I found a couple spots that looks like they could have worked for a relog/door trick, but it looks like the War Walls were specifically moved in those location to prevent it. I'm still looking.
I think I might just go under Atlas again and look at the hidden geometry and see if I can find a spot. -
Quote:Menu > Options > General > Miscellaneous > ToolTip Delay...I had no idea this was an option. That delay bugs the hell out of me. Thanks!!
I think I have mine set at about 10% or so.
Alternately:
/optionset ToolTipDelaySec 0.10
That is of course provided you have Tool Tips turned on.
That option is right above the delay slider, or:
/optionset UseToolTips 1 -
Only until you get used to it. But if you don't like mouselook in general, then it's not something you'd even want to try. Me, I love mouselook, so I adjusted to it from day one and changed my other binds accordingly, and added a bunch of other stuff to make things easier as well.
If I want to jump up onto a thin power line and SuperSpeed across it.. I can. I don't think I could do the same using the arrows... lol
That's just one example of why I think it's better. It's speed and precision lets me go anywhere I want to very quickly and easily.
As for how it might affect fighting and using powers.. anybody who knows how to use the power queue mechanism is limited by the powers' recharge and activation times anyway, so neither method can really be any faster in that regard.
When all is said, it really just boils down to personal preference. That's why we have the ability to change our binds anyway. You should not have been -repped for it, and you'll get +rep from me.
Master-Blade says: Play how you want to! lol
