Bah, I'd love to attend but I'm in the wrong country these days! Hope you all have great fun - I still have fond memories of the ol' Omega Sektor event.
-
That I definitely do not want. I can deal with damage to myself quickly enough - dealing with heavy damage to six henchmen is beyond the read of a Bots/FF Mastermind.
Perhaps making Bodyguard itself a separate status (e.g. /petcomall Aggessive Stay Guardon or /petcomall Defensive Follow Guardoff) would be a good addition. -
Quote:Perhaps a new command of "Mirror" is needed - attacking what you attack, following when you move, etc.I guess what I would like to see is a "follow" based on ACTIONS (both attacking and physical movement), not just "follow" in terms of strictly movement. Aggressive is not this, and neither is Defensive
Not sure that the AI could do it, but still would perhaps be nice. -
Quote:Even worse for me. I'm in the US, trying to pay for an EU account. NCsoft Support have essentially told me - you can't!Originally I did it because they started throwing security errors over my card details a few months back (EU Card trying to pay for US service I guess) but I've had no issues since I did so.
The problem is their system that identifies your geographical location via IP and then only presents the payment options for that region.
If they could display Paypal as an option every time I'd be happy! -
Quote:Your first definition is already active ingame. Regardless of an attack hitting or missing you (or one of the henchmen) your henches will return fire. However, they may stand there for a little bit if you recently issued any commands to them (for instance, running into the spawn, then hitting a "Follow" command - they will endeavour to undertake this command first, before aggroing based on the attacks you have been subject to)Suggestion: If they are in Defensive+Follow, I want them to start blasting as soon as I "actively engage with an enemy."
This can be defined as:
1. An enemy attacking me, whether they hit OR miss me
2. I start a "direct attack" an enemy, assume ST or AoE attack
3. I start an "indirect attack" (trap, pet, debuff, etc) and an enemy is within the bot's aggro radius
I'd actually not like to see either 2 or 3 make their way ingame. The henchmen have discrete controls for a reason - I don't want them to link to what I'm doing! Your 2 and 3 would be more suited to the Aggressive stance in my mind.
For reference, I very rarely use Bodyguard and am more liable to issue multiple "Attack" commands in any given fight. -
Quote:The latter - as per my guide (linked in my signature)...I know that that Chance for Buildup applies to all of their powers, but how about something like negative energy damage from the Touch of Lady Grey defense debuff set? All of their powers, or only the ones that alter defense?
Slotting: Invention Enhancement Sets
[...]
However, there are two issues to be aware of with Set Slotting into Henchmen Summons. The first is that the type of set slotted denotes the type of powers that the enhancement set will be applied to. For example, a Pet Damage Set will not be applied to the Protector Bot's Repair power or the Ember Demon's Abyssal Mending (this includes the Endurance Reduction portion of a set). Affected henchman powers can be checked for on City of Data (click on the henches power, and check the enhancement icons, top right)
Unknown. It shouldn't work to extend the range of henchmen attacks as (again) most of the powers (if not all) are not flagged to accept range enhancement. -
Quote:May be the case for Controllers and Dominators (with uncontrolled pets) but is just dandy for Masterminds - simply issue the "Attack" command for everything you're fighting and you're good (have been able to do all the Praetorian Events and get the top tier rewards, solo and on teams)Were you playing a Mastermind, Controller, or Dominator? Did your pets do a lot of the fighting for you?
The events don't count the participation of your pets because someone at Paragon Studios decided powersets that rely on pets don't count.
And for Dominators/Controllers you have a lot of powers/damage sources that are not pet-centric (with the possible exception of Illusion).
Edit: As Shield Charge uses a pseudo-pet for it's damage and may be affected by the "uncontrolled pets" issue, try relying on your Broadsword attacks instead. -
My namesake is the most versatile character I run regularly. While I have some alts in the wings who may turn out (eventually) to be better, when I have a hard task ahead I always rely on MZ (Bot/FF/Mace).
AoE Immob with a chance to hold, ST blast with a chance to hold, and an actual ST hold makes most spawns redundant. Plus with soft-capped defense (thanks to Prot Bots Force Shield buffed by the little extra from a Nerve Alpha) any return fire is mostly neutralised.
I have no worries, swooping in to give the Brute/Tank a heal in the middle of a mob - knowing I'm still doing damage. Or I can help herding with Force Bubble. All the while, having solid PBAoE buffs and ST buffs when needed.
The only thing I ever "hurt" for is the lack of debuffs. To that end, I'll usually have the temp power [Envenomed Dagger] on hand.

Quote:I have a torn robes look on my Zombie/Poison mastermind - his costumes progress from pristine labcoated scientist, down through shredded labcoated undead until he finally reaches full Zombie lord-hood.There are torn robes and cape patterns. I see the torn capes occasionally, often on fantasy-themed characters and especially on undead themed ones. I don't think I've ever seen anyone with torn robes. I see torn short sleeves on characters going for the Ryu/Ken look.
I'd grab screenies, but not in a position to do so right now -
Build 1:
Battle Drones: Replace entire slotting with a full Blood Mandate set
Assault Bot: Replace entire slotting with 3x Hami-O Acc/Dam, Soulbound Allegiance Chance for Buildup and both Pet Auras
Protector Bots: Replace 1 Hami Dam/Acc with Hami End/Def/ToHit or they will run OOE with summoning Seeker Drones
Equip Robot/Upgrade Robot: Remove the slotting from these, it's pretty much a waste, perhaps beef up Triage Beacon
General: If this is a guide on which powers you are taking at which level, it looks pretty boring post-40. Hope this is a respec guide!
Build 2:
Protector Bots: Replace Blood Mandate Acc/Dam with Hami End/Def/ToHit (or just a EndRdx IO) or they will run OOE with summoning Seeker Drones
Assault Bot: Replace Blood Mandate Acc/Dam with Soulbound Allegiance: Chance for Buildup - the three percent that one hancie gives is a waste
General: I'd prefer to see Electrifying Fences rather than Vengeance as you'd get more mileage out of it - you can pull slots out of Battle Drones since you're using Hami-O's for it.
Edit: Personally I like Build 2 better. -
Confirmed that Level Shift has no effect against Giant Monsters. Tested vs. Ghost of Scrapyard.
With Level Shift...
You activated the Pulse Rifle Burst power.
HIT Ghost of Scrapyard! Your Pulse Rifle Burst power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 41.68.
You blast Ghost of Scrapyard with your Pulse Rifle Burst for 72.89 points of energy damage.
You have knocked Ghost of Scrapyard off their feet with your Pulse Rifle Burst!
Ghost of Scrapyard MISSES! Spirit Wrack power had a 60.00% chance to hit, but rolled a 84.29.
Without Level Shift...
You activated the Pulse Rifle Burst power.
HIT Ghost of Scrapyard! Your Pulse Rifle Burst power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 20.03.
You blast Ghost of Scrapyard with your Pulse Rifle Burst for 72.89 points of energy damage.
You have knocked Ghost of Scrapyard off their feet with your Pulse Rifle Burst!
Ghost of Scrapyard HITS you! Spirit Wrack power had a 60.00% chance to hit and rolled a 22.22.
So, as you can see my damage remained the same, and Ghost of Scrapyards' ToHit rolls remained the same. -
Quote:As I said on this thread I'd like to see it repurposed to allow the creation of "generic" multi-aspect IO's.I think it's been overtaken by newer content, so playing around with SOs isn't quite as important as it once was, so it maybe doesn't need such a flashy interface anymore.
It'd breathe some new life and purpose into the system, even at high level play. -
-
I like the idea!
Perhaps, use the same "Combine" interface we already have for DO/DO enhancements and allow it to combine generic IO's (but only those in your enhancement inventory instead of those slotted) and the new generic multi-aspects.
This way, the market won't be full of player created multi-aspect IO's and it already has a built-in mechanics of failure.
Edit: I don't like the idea of player created set-bonuses. As everyone can just make the 2-slotted bonus whatever they like best, then "frankenslot" every power with pairs of enhancements that do exactly what they want (since they're also crafting the Enhancement's multi-aspects) -
Quote:Neither have I heard of an "All Empathy" team doing the same either. The reason for this is a successful high-end team needs debuffs. Neither Empathy nor Forcefields bring these to the table outside of temporary powers. It's also why you have never heard of, and never will hear of, an "All-FFer" team tearing through the Statesman TF.
At the end of the day taking powers, or not, is a personal prerogative. Noone will make you take the individual bubbles, but if you are invited to a team as a Forcefielder it will normally be expected that you have them and have slotted them.
We have dual-builds now - make use of them to have builds with both options, if you don't normally run around with them. -
I'd kill to have slottable/IO'd Sleep Protection on MZ. So irritating to be able to shrug off disorient, holds and immobilise only to have sleepy time. I mean, I know MZ is an elderly scientist but I didn't envisage him falling asleep in the middle of a pitched battle!
-
My guess? The devs don't know what the Omega slot does yet
They've just given themselves plenty of space to make things up!
-
Potentially, is Castle's hint that if you are "actively" participating, you're golden. Those who did not get any badge credit/reward as Masterminds - were you issuing "Attack" commands to your henchmen?
-
I hear you! I moved from Derby in the UK, with a good 10-20 Indian restaurants less than a five minute walk away from my front door to Youngstown, OH, USA and now I don't even know where I can get a decent takeout curry!

Quote:I've never noticed them doing anything. At all. The fight seems the same whether you drop them before or after Hami/Mitos.I've seen people argue that you take them out first, or that you leave them in place while dealing with the Mitos. I've never seen anyone in game who really seemed to know what they actually did, but they seemed to be parroting what they had seen before (which is, of course, understandable).
Anyone care to use a Power Analyzer/Surveillance on the Pylons/Hami/Mitos before anything is defeated and see if there is anything special? -
My dear Dr. Darkespark,
Shall I compare thee to a positronic matrix?
Thou art more complex and more intelligent.
But poor programming on your nanobots may
Result in consciousness lease hath all too short a date.
With fondness,
Master Zaprobo (Defiant)
(P.S. Watch out for those doors!) -
Quote:If you set up a US Event, set up a corresponding EU event. If the US event contains devs, make sure at a minimum that the EU Event has Community Coordinators who will feed back to the devs (if not the devs themselves).Knowing those kind of restraints, and that we're working with a 8-9 hour difference, what kind of things do you, as players, feel are reasonable expectations from the developers?
Oh, and merge the server lists. -
You see, themed costume nights would be GREAT as there's no powerset/AT restriction - sign me up for the first one of those run!
Otherwise, if someone runs this in parallel on Union I will bring my hero out of mothballs - the original "Zap Robotnik" (as seen, briefly, in CoH Comic Issue #12). -
Quote:This is the sort of issue I suspected existing - if the EN-EU community feel alienated from the wider CoH Community then it must be twice as bad for the FR-EU and DE-EU communities who have a language barrier to contend with as well!Do u bring Kerensky back, else who cares.
Our small community from Germany is used to that situation since kere left.
Sorry to hear things are that bad over there Master0fCeremony - my German is bad, my French non-existent otherwise I'd be hanging out in your forums too.
