  1. I hope they don't fix it, then I'd have to find room in my very tight Necro/Posion build for it.
  2. The other big advantage of TA is it's not as end heavy as things like Dark or Poison. The possibility of avoiding Stamina gives you a lot more flexibilty in the build.

I would say Dark or Poison best for Necromacy, can easily make good concept chars, plus good synergy e.g. noxious gas on Grave Knights

    [/ QUOTE ]

Boy howdy yes! Use Noxious Gas on a Knight feed him a few purple/orange insps so he survives. Poison also turns you into something of a giant-slayer with powerful single target debuffs.

    Necromancy Screens

Better shots than I can manage, but here's a screeny when they're at the intermediary stage, after the first upgrade but before the second.
    Intermediate

Today's models are (left to right) Bonemeal, Claymore, and Leviticus
  5. I've got my guy at 44 so I can show you a full spread, I'll be back later with a pic of the boyaz at various stages.

For those wondering about Practiced Brawler, my Spines/SR has to re-'pop' his spines when it fires. Still got a cool pose with it though.

    MM vs AV/Hero

I've tried a couple as my Necro/Poison and I just haven't been able to make it stick. Didn't have Shivans (need to go get more of those) but most of them just drop some horrific PBAoE and I lose most of my pets, at that point I'm immediately into grinding them and I can't really keep up.

    Tankermind?

I wonder, what do you do against sleep?

    [/ QUOTE ]

How good's Sovereign Might's mez resistance? I've only got a couple of them so far but they seem to work quite well.
  9. I've got a Necro/Posion at 39, my (poor) advice is

You will need stamina, not only is posion a bit heavy but as Zombies are a bit flimsy you will generally have to grind them a bit (I run on relentless), and that's when you'll start to run out of endurance.

Zombies and Grave Knights are damage dealers but Ghostie and Lich are control/debuff so don't slot them for damage, it's a waste. Fear (from Lich) is great as it helps reduce the agro on your damage dealers.

Speaking of Ghost slotting put 2-3 recharge in it, I don't have hasten but aparrently with you can stack two Ghosts.

Necro is great at 'hot dropping' as the animations are short, generally you can survive even those really awkward Arachnos missions where yuo start in a mob.

Everything from Poison is good apart from Posion Trap which is sodding awful.

Just a bit of lunchtime stream-of-thought for you all.
  10. Thugs are fine by me as long as you don't name them after the cast of a TV show. Actually that goes for all MM pets.
  11. I thought Quills was the ultimate stalker deterrent?
  12. I only bother with 2, even if you're attacking all-out you're unlikely to get mezzed.
  13. Before they changed to rooting rules my Spines/SR with SJ had a macro that put CJ on and auto-fired PB on one press, and switched off auto-fire and put SJ on with a second press. This was so when Jumping across a map I didn't fall out the sky when PB fired.

Obviously with it being a respec I'm not so interested in the order of my slotting

EDIT: Accidentally put a Run in Swift, now corrected.
  15. I've got a Necro/Poision and I've taken Drain Life, mostly as a way to top up my health and debuff a little than as any way of damaging people, so does it really count as an attack in that context (in spite of originally being in the Dark Blast tree)? Otherwise I see no reason to take attacks. I do respects concepts though as a reason to have your own weapons, a friend has made a Thug/Dark hyper-intelligent monkey and has taken Dual Wield if only to prove the old saying:

[i] Guns don't kill people, people kill people... and monkeys too if you give them guns[i]
  16. I find my Grave Knights 'lock' once they've drawn steel. That is when they move onto the next target they'll keep using the sword as long as they've used it at least once on the previous enemy.
  17. So I've downloaded and been using the numpad binds for a while, and they're fantastic, but as I approach level 26 with my Necro/Poison I wonder about setting up grouped binds. Having my Zombies and Grave Knights on one button, and my Lich and Spirit on the Other.

I know that I can use 'e' as a filtering letter to get the Zombies and Grave Knights to attack. So what letter would I use to get the Spirit and the Lich? I'm still a little hazy as to how the game matches partial strings to pet powers.

And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. - Mark 5:9

    [/ QUOTE ]

We Are Legion is a concept villain SG on Defiant, being a concept SG finding teams can be quite tricky. We're looking for other SGs on Defiant to coalition with so when Legions are lft there's a chance of finding people.

The original brief for Legion toons was "You must be called Legion {Something}, and you must be black and green and {messed} up looking... GO!" pictures will be coming when I can get some off the members and tidy them up in Paint Shop for BB use. Most Legion toons are quite familiar with CoX and so there's hopefully won't be too many silly questions .

If you have more questions or are interested then please put your details and pitch below.

Poison : Deceptively good but needs lots of thought.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've got a Necro/Poision, I've not done 'open' PVP like in BB or Siren's, but in Arena battles it's mostly about getting the order of your debuffs right, I've soloed quite a few EBs and it's really about getting that defence down, all else follows.
  20. Thi is definitely a topic I'll be keeping an eye on, I do like 'breaking' games, or at least not playing them as intended. Deus Ex was a classic for this where it was possible to KO one character and carry them with you for nearly the whole game.
  21. Necro, if only for Soul Extraction.
  22. I strikes me that as an MM it's possible to team really really badly. My plan is to point out how MMs interact with the various archetypes, along with some general advice. Now is there room for such a guide do you think?
  23. Mantodea

    bodyguard

TY for the info Weasel, of course it's rarely me that dies, but my minions, perhaps I'm just too used to putting the distance between a fight going pear-shaped and my low-HP hide .
  24. My level 20 Necro/Poison MM is rapidly becoming unplayable, not because of the sets, but because it's one of my first Villains and it's a toon that sort of 'happened'. I'm going to freespec it right.

My real question is about Soul Extraction. Is it worth slotting? If so to what degree and with what? I do seem to lose zombies at a respectable rate so I think the power will get a fair dgree of use, but how good is that hold on them? Do they have any powers they seem to prefer over others?

Any other advice for the respec is also appreciated, though I would like to point out much to some howls of derision that I don't plan to take Stamina, at least not yet, reason being there's just too much useful stuff for teaming, and as this is a concept toon he's almost always in a team.
  25. I've recently done a few Arachnos missions as a Necro MM and 'Hot' entry points are a pain (Arachnos seems to have quite a few), but it's also been some real fun and makes you see a few other things you may miss at a more sedentary pace, for example just how much faster a Grave Knight is to summon than a Zombie Horde.
