Thinking of making a guide "Teaming as an MM"

I strikes me that as an MM it's possible to team really really badly. My plan is to point out how MMs interact with the various archetypes, along with some general advice. Now is there room for such a guide do you think?

Always room for more guides! Of course, there are as many ways to play with other AT's as there are powersets - both for the MM and the other AT's.

For instance, Stalkers may want to alpha-strike, or they may want to sneak between the cracks of the aggro your henchmen draw. Brutes may be happy with Mercs blasting at range, but irritated by Ninjas getting in the way of their aggro/attacks.

By all means, give it a blast though - different playstyles never stopped me from writing guides.

If you do, I have a helpful bit of advice for brutes teaming with MMs, as a brute who duoed with an MM nigh constantly.

If you want reliable aggro around a mastermind as a brute, you should be taking taunt or some PBAoE aura that has a built in taunt effect. The only other way is for the MM to play beneath their potential, which is hardly fair.

Just had to say that after hearing quite a few brutes complain about MMs "stealing their aggro" and finding out most if not all of them didn't have any taunt powers.

With my ninjas/dark I often try to build/find a team of 2-3 people. I dont like soloing much so I try to team even if it's just a duo or something.
Usually the other person in the team is a corruptor or a dominator. If it's a fire/kin or a fire/rad it's goodbye for the mobs

A big part of the guide should state your partner(s) should be aware that a lot of the time you will not appear to be doing anything. Summoning/Buffing and general action takes a lot longer when you're watching it: Especially if you've got some on Bodyguard and Mr. Brute is stealing all the agro, so as not to 'wake' them.

Does anyone spot the mistake in Max's comment there? Of all people on these boreds? I'm shocked!!

Actually thorny it has been debated about the inhernet brute power fury, some say it seems to have a mini gauntlet in it to help with fury building.

Brutes have gauntlet on each foe they hit. Tanks get it for each foe plus 4 foes around them. Not as powerful as the tank version, but enough to draw enough agro to fuel the fury

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"

[/ QUOTE ]It's got nothing to do with fury, brutes just have gauntlet, and that's it. As Cynic noted, on ST attacks it doesn't have the additional 4 targets like taunt one, but for AoE's it's identical.

Brutes have a singletarget variation of gauntlet to themselves, although I don't think it should be called gauntlet as such.

If its a hit one attack it wont have the tankers aoe gauntlet effect but if its a hit many then the effect will be alike to a tanks aoe effect.

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
