Are mastermidns viable in pvP?

I was looking at some guides to help with being a mastermind, and have been practically told that they cannot PvP. Now this worries me greatly, as I absoloutely love PvP. I don't care how hard it is, but CAN THEY PVP?
And, on a seperate note, how do the different minions compare to eachother?

Thans in advance!

Yes - they can pvp!

I dont actually have an MM as i hate playing them, but an MM with all pets out and bodyguard mode on is a difficult target to beat.

Not sure about minions, but dark is good and so is force field as secondary sets.

yay, having opinion from someone who isn't a MAstermind is good. Now I know that having one to level 14 wasn't a waste!

See my MM hold the Circles in Sirens against 4 Scrappers and then tell me they can't

As for sets;

Ninjas : Great Control, Weak Smarts, Good Damage
Zombies : Great Debuffs, Weak Smarts, Good Damage
Thugs : Great Damage, Weak Buffs, Good Smarts
Robots : V.Good Control, Weak Smarts, V.Good Damage
Mercs : Great Damage, Weak Smarts, Good Buffs

Traps : Great when stationary, Naff when moving.
Dark : Good all round
FF : Great strengths, Bad Weaknesses
Poison : Deceptively good but needs lots of thought.
Arrow : Firepower.

Most MM's weaklink is their Pet Smarts. TP Foe or AOE splash is enough to separate Pets from their Master and then it's just stomp the squishy. Supremacy and Bodyguard will make you Granite Killers, but control your pets.

My MM is 30 and I tried Siren's recently, since this is my first character and I came out 22 kills for 6 deaths i'd say it's okay!

I'm Merc/Traps and usually I let them beat on me in bodyguard while my pets whittle them down, throwing out triages, acid mortars and posion traps (Which rule. Detoggle and long stunned animations can kill nearly anything!)

I've by TPFoe'd once or twice, but since i have teleport myself it's just a case of using it to book it back to your pets.....then TPFoe'ing them in return XD However it does take me a small year to kill tanks and FF trollers, anything else has dropped pretty fast so far. I once took 3 scrappers and killed two before having to run from the 3rd. I think they were all spines regen too, was wondering why they didn't use thier AoE's, I guess Impale is so imba it's not needed? O.o

Scrappers on their own are funny, run in start hacking away, pop all thier insps, panic, start trying to run and i'm not even off 90% health yet

Mercs/Traps isn't even the best PvP set from what i've heard, but I love it all the same. Just wish Serum didn't suck so much...

I've got a Necro/Poision, I've not done 'open' PVP like in BB or Siren's, but in Arena battles it's mostly about getting the order of your debuffs right, I've soloed quite a few EBs and it's really about getting that defence down, all else follows.

Necro/Poison is what i have too and oh boy is it good

basically, i can kill most things. Regen scrappers, i can turn off their integration, Weaken, then 2 holds, 1 poison and 1 patron, easy prey. Bodyguard keeps me alive most of the time, might want aid self to keep this ability to survive rooted.

Debuff the hell out of an opponent, slow so they cannot run as well. I have seen poison turn off a granite too. Necro has fear too, works a treat.

MMs can most definitely PvP, those who say otherwise i will take a pop at.

Thugs/Poison here.

Eats Tankers for breakfast.
Blaster get held...then killed.
Scrappers can be a pain, depends on the sets.
Controllers, rarely a problem, unless they are Stormies.
Defenders, again, usually easy, unless they are Kin/Elec, there's not much you can do when completely drained of endurance.

TP Foe is your greatest enemy.

I PvP on a regular basis, and I do Very well for myself with Mercs/Dark. Anybody who claims that MM's can't PvP, is either ignorant...or worse.

It's my firm Belief that Dark and FF are the best options A solid AoE heal in Dark+ Good De-buffs and exelent Defence with FF + a lot of other neat and irritating tricks. Have little experience of the others (Exept Trickarrow) But they can work for you, with a little forethought...and effort.

I remember taking down a whole team of heros in sirens a while ago and funny thing is i was on team speak with them so i could hear the cursing too.
I have a ninja/poisen and was taking down a team of a tank, scrapper, def, and controler,. they kept coming back for more but i must have took the team down about 4 times with no deaths to me. poisen debuffs rule this was before body guard mode was about also. so Yes mm's can for sure PVP and are very good at it too in the right hands.

Masterminds are most definatly viable in PvP. My Necro/DM does rather well in Siren's and Warburg, I'd got as far as to say that he far out-preforms my Stalker.
