When COV launched you had to purchase it in order to play on villains. Buying COV allowed you access to the Isles and gave your Heroes access to Villain costume parts.
If I remember correctly you also had to buy it in order to access SG bases.
This was changed when Cryptic sold COX to NCSoft. With the release of the Good Vs Evil edition. -
I'm going to re-roll my Main as a a Energy/Energy blaster....
then have him fall to the dark side and take over the Isles!!
I'm going to create a Bots/Storm MM and have him 'see the light' so he can womp all the AV's on blueside!
That's all I've got for now. -
That ones really cool, makes me think of Blade though.
-
I'm sure more will be along shortly but I just want to add what I can.
City of Heroes Architect edition is the latest box released so that should be the most up to date disc you can get.
It's the same game the rest of us are playing, what your downloading is the newest issue.
Issue 16 was released after the AE edition.
It's currently double XP weekend, meaning you get double rewards for regular play! That said, I'd expect less people to be on the forums as a result.
Welcome to Paragon City!
I've very little experience with WOW, suffice it to say COH is open world, with instanced missions available.
Check Paragonwiki.com For instant answers to nearly everything! -
It's still a very viable tactic. In fact Hover got a 10% speed increase around issue 8. Even comes with a seperate emote now!
Can't give you specific #'s atm but I'm sure it's still useable. -
<------- Is embarrassed that he's jealous of an 11 year olds talent...

You know, the very 1st cape mission I ran I actually tried to open the capsule! My curiosty was greater than my need for a cape.
I'm curious though, if they do open it will the cape mission be altered? -
I really wish we could get a stickied thread in the suggestions section that lists off the often requested/often denied suggestions.
Seems like every other day we get a new poster thinking they're the 1st to think something up. Which, after 5 years is unlikely.
Doesn't mean they should be flamed though. They don't realize its become something of a "Oh lord not again!" thing to most of us vets.
The Dev's have stated that they don't want this to be City of jetbikes. So I find it very unlikely we'd ever see this implemented. Fact is, the city wasn't designed with vehicles in mind. For one, zones like Tera Volta and Skyway would be a nightmare to try and 'drive' thru.
Then how do you go over water to get to all those island missions?
To the OP, it's not a bad suggestion. Just one the vets around here have heard a bazzilion times and are thus getting 'tired of'
Now, new emotes for SuperSpeed that include bikes and the like could be interesting but as for entire new pools... -
Too bad your not on Infinity.
I'd gladly give you a cool $1,000,000 or so in Influence or Infamy. I've got tons. I always like to repay the kindness that was shown to me when I started playing.
Back then Influence wasn't as easy to come by. With no 'loot' to speak of, no markets. I always had trouble affording DO's, SO's seemed to be always out of reach. It was so frustrating to only have enough cash to buy 1 or 2 SO's every other level...
I was lamenting the fact that my blaster was going to have to go thru the next 20 missions or so with red enhancements to earn the dough. Then a Hero by the name of Temp_Extremes stopped me and unloaded around 200,000 (large sum back then!!) on me.....
For nothing!
It really, really helped! Since then I've always enjoyed giving gifts when I can.
Offer still stands by the way if you ever come over to Infinity! -
As someone who avoids escort missions like the plague and tends to stick to 'beat this boss' missions.

This thread details a controller soloing Kraken
Not exactly a MM doing it but if your friends arguement was only scrappers can well... -
TV - Oh wow, I could name hundreds but I'll refrain and simple list the one that gets stuck in my head most often.
Doug
Although I'd like to ad that the 1st few licks of the Airwolf theme are now playing in my mind thanks to Healix...
Movies - Same goes here, wow Ravenwolf has most of mine already up so I'll vote for.
Jurassic Park opening theme -
Last I heard the online store was offline.
It's been about a week now though so that might not be the problem.
I recall a few posters saying the lost purchased slots when it went down too. -
Truthfully, I hardly ever utilize BG mode.
My Necro/Dark is strictly solo though so I'm sure that helps. I've just never been in a situation that called for bodyguard.
I'm not a fan of my henchmen acting with a will of their own so 99% of the time I run around in Passive/follow.
The way I work missions is to pull groups into my waiting pack of cannibals. I'll usually goto command them to wait behind a corner, then I'll pick out the boss and lay Darknest Night on him. Generally I never even get hit. By the time the group gets to my location I've laid down Tar Patch. I wait until a large chunk of em are in the patch then hit Attack mode! On the off chance one starts gunning for me I just hit attack again, this gets my guys to hit em enough to get off me. Then a Twilight Grasp has me back at full.
In the past 42 levels I've used BG mode once, that I recall, when everything started falling apart because the Longbow Warden refused to focus on the zombies pounding him in the face and picks me outta the crowd. Dark Servant saved me that time.
Maybe its just /Dark saving my bacon, I just haven't had the need for Bodyguard mode. Even with my settings being +1x8. -
Or you could just give it away to the nearest upstanding hero.
I did just that last week on an alt I noticed it on when I logged to change colors... -
But seeing as how you can't make your henchmen look anything like either one of those Arthurs it shouldn't be banned.
I can understand not being able to name yourself Arthur, because then you'd be able to emulate one of them. We even have the rabbit ears now.
But seeing as how you'd either have;
A common gang banger type.... named Arthur.
An undead corpse..... named Arthur
A generic robot..... or
A soldier of fortune or just a random Ninja.
It shouldn't be an issue.
No judge in this country would look at one of our zombies, see his name as Arthur and award PBS a settlement.
It's ludacris.
Oh wait, we are talking about the American justice system aren't we?
Nevermind. (Sigh) -
In my experience Necro/Dark is COV on easy mode.
I've got a Thugs/Traps that doesn't feel anywhere near as powerful. Once I get my firebase setup he's on par, just doesn't have the same destroy as you go feel.
I played up to level 16 with a Ninja/TA. Just couldn't stand the wild AI with them. GoTo didn't even seem to help. This was 3 issues ago though so they may have been improved by now.
I played up to level 8 with a Merc/Poison. Really didn't like this combo though. Something just didn't sit right with me. Could have just been the concept I used though.
I've been avoiding playing Bots for the longest time. Now I know why. I plan on rolling a Bots/Storm on blueside once GR hits!
With proper usage of the Goto macro and BG mode nearly any combo can be deadly. I'd personally stick with Thugs/Dark OR Thugs/FF for AV soloing though. I find Necro to be hard hitting but AV's tend to spam PBAOE's which devastate the melee guys. -
I really didn't find Knockback to be a useful mitigation tool...
That is until ragdoll physics was introduced. I still recall the 1st time my energy blaster used Thrust after that patch.
I still have the screenshot. (I'd post but I'm at work)
My 1st reaction was, "Whoa, that looks so cool!"
Then I noticed he was taking an extra long time getting back up!
Needless to say I decided to add Power Push to the lineup at that point.
That said, I wouldn't expect to see any damage added to it. -
I'm amazed that for once...
I'm off for that weekend!!!!!
Now to stock up on coffee. -
So, looks like I've discovered my limits as well.
Running the Pied Piper arc from Hardcase on my 39 Necro/Dark
SRSLY set at -1 +6 Bosses and AV's.
I'm sure some of you know the mission I'm talking about.
Its the one were Hardcase warns you before hand that the warehouse has
A LOT of Wailers. Bring help he says...
Well, I've got a cadre of cannibals at my becking command so off we go!
I zone in and see the Ambush text, since I rarely summon before entering I'm about half way thru summoning my Knights when I fall.
That was weird.
Next try, I summon and buff before entering. Once in I easily handle the ambush and proceed to clear the place.
Then the next ambush gets to me right as I jump into a huge group.
I was down before I even blinked...
Next try, I summon and buff before entering. This time I wait for the 2nd ambush. They arrive at my tarpit and we make quick work of them. I am a demon hunter afterall.
This time I decide to pull the next group into my corner of doom.
I'm able to take out the large group and Dark Servant helps to defeat the ambush as well.
Then the 3rd ambush gets stuck or something. I see the "We're coming for you" text. Wait for about 3 minutes and decide to just wipe out this little group of 5 right in front of me.
Oops.
Seems the ambush was actually waiting behind the corner to *surprise* ambush me! Soon as I engaged the small little 'bait' group I'm surrounded by 3 Wailer Kings, numerous Queens and around 20 blue wailers.
I was tempted to yank out my shivan but was down before I even had the chance.
I'm starting to Love/Hate this mission. It's become something of a sinister urge in me to complete it without lowering the diff.
Tonight I plan on waiting at the entrance for all 4 ambushes then stealthing to the freaks.
Yeah, this MM hadn't died that much in the past 39 levels of play!
I love these new SRSLY settings! -
Right after PvP zones were added. We all gathered for Status Crow's big throwdown... -
Personally, I wouldn't want a moat monster at the zig.
I'd love to have some kind of riot or repeatable missions that took place inside the zig.
I too, had the same reaction the 1st time I zoned into Bricks.
Wow, this thing is amazing. Makes sense they'd have some sort of super max facility. What with all these super-powered thugs running around.
Now. Having a Malta Titan or some other giant behemoth breaking someone out and having to stop them. That I could get behind as well. -
It really comes down to what works best for you.
Once you solve your endurance issues the rest should be gravy.
Personally, my 50 has Fly and Super Speed.
Fly simply because of concept reasons and the ability to point myself in the direction and hit auto run before running to the bathroom. Never used in battle though.
SS for the Stealth + SS combo.
I found Energy/Energy to excel in boss killing. At least my blapper build does. I ended up building to specialize in this. So I usually stealth every mission.
I do typically shy away from having more than 1 travel power. Unless I have a concept reason or an extra power choice.
That said, I've found Teleport to be nearly useless unless I have hover to go with it. This is due to me having a dinosaur of a PC though. -
Its the scene from five years past. on Heroes season 1
Its the scene were Peter and Sylar start to face off with Fire and Ice. While Hiro and Hiro are hiding in the closet.
It should've been the fight we'd all waited for. Instead we got yet another
'We don't have the budget for the FX' behind closed door light show... -
I'm really shocked this thread hasn't gone down in flames yet.
FYI - defenders don't like being called healors...
That said, I view my Empath as being a 'Healer' meaning, he focuses on healing others pain.
Doesn't mean thats all he's good for though. On a good team I often find my heals to be less useful than my buffs.
Oh man, buffs is were its at!
Yeah healing the team is what will get you complimented but buffing the team is really what you should focus on.
The buffs/debuffs are what make defenders shine. The heals are there for when things start going south.
In the low levels your heal/Heals are gonna get a lot of use.
In the later levels they should be collecting dust.
By level 32 your teammates are going to be more self reliant. You'll notice the health bars aren't dipping as much. This is when you start buffing and debuffing like a machine.
I went with Radiation as a secondary for the added -defense!
