Personally, I'd avoid buying any guides as the information contained within will soon be changed. Par for the course with MMO's being constantly updated. Unless you really just want the cool artwork and binder.

Truth is, you've already found the best place for guides.
This forum right here has a guides section and the player question section is full of helpful chaps.

I was one of the ones that was furious about ED. Being an old school blaster that was stuck in the 1acc 5dam mindset I was unable to see any
good coming from this change.

Now, looking back, I realize it was probably one of the most fundamental changes to this game. It opened up so many new possibilities.

The one sad thing for me was that I shelved my Illusion/FF controller
due to the reduction in Flash's duration and mag.
It changed the way he played so radically, I just never went back.
He's still sitting there, perched forever at 22, hoping one day I'll
'Get over it'


Who knows what we'll be looking back on 2 years from now.

If anything GR will increase the amount of time I spend redside.
I plan on rolling at least 4 seperate blasters and 2 scrappers to experience the Isles...

This, compared to, 1 Mastermind and 1 Brute I'll be taking Blueside means I'll be spending more time being bad after GR.

Not to mention the increase we'll see due to Shelf space and a new retail box! All this means the future for COX looks brighter than ever.

My home server is Infinity but I've got a full roster on Virtue as well.

Currently I'm falling in love with my
DM/Regen scrapper, Maestro Mavius all over again.
Was the 2nd toon I ever made, way back in 2005. Stalled out at 32 for years until last month. Just hit 41 last night!

Only other toon I really play on Virtue would be my new
SS/SR Brute currently level 11.
Deadweight Champion.

Personally, I'd love to have a western zone.

But more than that, I want the Lost World.
I want to go back in time 65 million years to stop some dastardly plot.
Of course, that'll never happen because of the skeleton issue but I can dream can't I?

I've found regen to be a mixed bag. For me, it really depends on how I'm playing that day. If I'm really rolling along and paying attention then very little can slow me down. If I'm not really into it and lose concentration pretty much anything can bring me down.

I used to play with the strategy of leaving MOG and IH for when the battle turns south. I soon realized that by the time I noticed I would need them, it was too late. So I revamped my style. I started anticipating when I'd need them and clicking them beforehand. This was a huge jump in performance. Since I'm still on SO's with him it can get hairy at times and if I'm not paying attention or I lag death comes swiftly.

Regen has been a rollercoaster over the years with all the changes. What was once a boring set has been turned into a very active click heavy set.
I love it!

My MM loves his Vet powers and Air Sup in those situations...

Unless your on the other end of the transaction that is, then it's gotta feel more like a kiss from an Angel or some other such lofty thing.

I've thankfully never done that myself. I have added an extra 0 from time to time when bidding, but usually on stuff worth 10,000 or less, so the 90,000 loss (while nothing to sneeze at) isn't too bad.

Years ago I rolled up a Kin/Elec defender named Kinetic Flux.
He was a sentient robot.
I wasn't paying attention and picked Natural as his origin. Within minutes of zoning into Atlas I had someone point out that I should've gone with Technology origin.
Thanks to my mistake, his bio was reworked to have him be an alien from a planet of machines. So, while appearing to be a techy robot, he's still the same as all others of his race, therefor the Natural origin made sense.

While 'in reality' he would need to shop at the Tech store for 'parts' instead of the natural store for incense and dragon coins I just RP'd it as he's desperate to fit in with Humans. Even going so far as to create a holographic interface so he could later on appear to be human.


When I made my 1st toon I thought origin would be an important part of it. To the point of including it when asking for help on my Natural Eng/Eng blaster and yes, his story makes sense with his origin. I was later on very happy to have it only be a RP deal. Leaves lots more room for variations.
