Quote:Funny you should say that. I love my Sonic/Dual Pistols with void and paralytic...In my experience, there is so much +acc and Tohit being thrown around, -def isn't that big an issue. Any crack team designed to take down a trial with as few peeps as possible are already accidentally built for accuracy anyway.
I wouldn't call it ultimate, but a sonic/Dual Pistals always looked interesting to me. Decent debuffs from sonic, and if you use predominantly chem rounds, makes for an interesting layering of resistance buffs and -dmg debuffs. More so with void judgment and paralytic interface. -

Quote:It's actually 16.25% and it just rounds up the .25% into being .3% instead. More of a nuisance than a crisis.
Ah, cool, that explains the .3 part. Can't believe I never noticed that it did that before. I guess I never paid too much attention because the numbers never looked wildly out of whack before.
My bigger concern, which I now realize isn't as clear as I would have liked because I left out a few pertinent details, is that I have 2 or 3 purple sets that should be giving their +Recharge bonus, and the Superior ATE, and 5 LotGs +Recharge, etc, and only show 16% (ish) global recharge.
As I said, I think the entire culprit is all of my -recharge effects from attacks that affect enemies are being calculated as affecting me, too, but was looking for more info to confirm [[Thanks Scirion for your info!!]]. -
My favorite has always been Justice. It seems to be not as populated as Virtue or Freedom, but not too far behind. That said, I've played on a lot of servers and have mostly had good experiences everywhere once I found the most used globals for that server.
If you are back again as subscriber, Exalted is also a very nice choice. -
I'm working on a Time Def (not that that is really relevant) and after slotting all the powers, but not toggling on Hasten or ChronShift, it shows a Global Recharge of +16.3%.
One, how would you even be able to get a .3% bonus from sets? Second, it seems like Distortion Field and Time's Juncture are applying -recharge bonuses.
On thinking about that, it seems like the -recharge penalties in the powers are being applied as a negative bonus to my own total. Is this the experience of other folks? -
I think time/ice should be brutal once it fully matures. Time/fire is pretty brutal, too.

Quote:I didn't ask what seemed logical to anybody. I asked if there was a reason Mid's didn't allow it to be slotted. By that, I meant specifically, "How does it work in-game? And how is it intended to work in-game? And is Mid's correctly reflecting this?" Sorry for the confusion.ATE sets go into AT powersets only! Seems logical to me....
That means not in epic or pool powers!
I'm sure to many people the restriction of an ATE to use be a specific AT seems an equally logical restriction. Using this logical interpretation, it should go into any power that the given AT in question can use.
I checked the wiki on cohtitan, and the only restriction it mentions is that they must be slotted into click damage powers. This would seem to preclude even AT powers like Death Shroud or even Dull Pain, both of with fit within the list of logical powers by the logic you have chosen to follow.
For reference...
"All of the enhancements can only be slotted by a single archetype (or "set of archetypes" for EATs) depending on the name of the set."
and
"All Archetype Enhancements are slotted in click damage attacks, melee or ranged as appropriate for the archetype, except for the Controller and Dominator sets slotting in mez powers and the Mastermind set slotting in pet powers."
Both quotes from
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/ATE
So, since there is obviously still some confusion, can anyone answer not what seems logical to them, but, as I said above,
"How does it work in-game? And how is it intended to work in-game? And is Mid's correctly reflecting this?"
Again, sorry for the ambiguity of my original post. -
That's right. The procs damage isn't affected by ED. Or by anything else that I'm aware of. The only way I know of to make a proc do more damage is to debuff the targets Res.

Quote:Actually, vet status gets you LOTS of percs in game. Especially if you have a lot of vet status. But you're right, it doesn't seem as if vet status (Premium) gets you anything more than Freebie status in the forums. Guess some things you just have to subscribe for. Want incarnate stuff? Gotta subscribe. Want to be able to post anywhere in the forums? Gotta subscribe. Not sure on the PMing, but that may very well be a subscriber only benny, too.You misunderstand me, that wasn't a complaint, it was a statement.
I am aware that Paragon and NCSoft need to make money but you have to admit it does seem a tad unfair that Vets (Or Preems, whichever is the accepted term now) get few privileges within the forums (And yes, I am aware this issue has been discussed before and that it's not Paragon's fault).
EDIT: Funnily enough that looks like a Signature below my post, yet I'm still not a VIP. Thoughts?
Edit: Truth be told, I think I'd rather Vet status grant in-game benefits rather than in-forum benefits. Although, if it wasn't too tough to do it would be nice if Premium status granted you some middle ground forum access... -
I SO wish there was a way. It would make respecing a LOT less painful..
-
Not sure if this is an issue with Mids or with my understanding of how ATEs should work....
Is there a reason that the Brute's ATE set can't be placed in Pool Power attacks (Boxing, Kick, Jump KIck, Spring Attack, etc)? -
Guess that means it's official. Time to fix some dinner. I'll play CoH later..

Quote:Same for me, apart from I should have received my 7th year badge last month and still no sign of it.
Yeah, this. My rewards are a tad wonkier than this persons, but mostly OK. I just can't seem to get my yearly vet badges for nothing.. I think they are totally broke, but other than that it's mostly OK. -
Eh, do what you want, and don't try to be a jerk while doing it. And you *might* be okay. But, be willing to pay the price. It's that simple..
It cold be a fun ride. It could last a while. But it might not. Be ready and be okay with that.. Have a back-up name..
Good luck. -
I'd be totally thrilled and completely satisfied if they just allowed an alternate animation. One that has all the same numbers, but looks less time-wastey.. I'd take the Malta Gunslingers as the model... Do that, and I'd call it all fixed and be thrilled..

For alphas it's impossible to know unless we know a) your build and b) your goal..
If you focus on X during normal build, you don't need an alpha that focuses on X, but one that hits Y. If you focus on Y during normal build, then, the reverse may be true.. And what is your goal? Supreme toughness? Maxed DPS? Well, the choices are going to be rafdically different based on these different goals.
I almost always go musculature.. As my builds tend to be capped to defenses before I incarnate, so I focus on offense. But, I've taken spiritual more than once on an invul.
Edit: For what it's worth, I'd never take cardio, unless I had mad really bad end management choices or I didn't plan to slot me res stuff at all. It's SO easy to cap without cardio that I don't find it worth it.. Just my opinion. -

I honestly can't fathom how you're having such end woes on an Elec tank. 4 Perf Shifter Procs. You also have Phys Per.. You've got the Numi +/+. And you still think you need to add in the Miracle +Recovery *and* grab an alpha based mainly on how it affects your blue bar based on either lessening end usage or upping your end recovery.... What?!
Forgive me, but... Did you take Energize and Power Sink? Are the slotted at all? Do you have any End Reduction slotting in any of your attacks and/or toggles?
Because if the answers are all 'Yes' I can't imagine you'd feel any need for more blue bar control. -
A Miracle +Recovery seems a total waste on an Elec Tank.
I'd give it to an alt or sell it.
But if you're dead set on putting in in your build, and you're going to spend a slot to add it to PP or Health, it should go in Health, unless you were planning to six slot Numi there or something. -
I would assume so. Run the Ouro intro mish. Finish it up. Swap sides, and then run the intro flashback on the other side, too. Mind you, I don't know for sure that this works, but see no reason why it shouldn't.

You used to be able to check name availability from the character select screen of a given server only, and that was sorta a pain.. If you were most of the way through creating a new alt, and had a name ready to go, and then it was taken, you couldn't check alternatives without trying to actually enter the game.
Now, you can check on name after name at any point along the character creation process, and hold the name you like once you find one that is available. Much improved... Except....
If I'm full on a server, and thinking of deleting or moving an alt to make room for a new one, but don't want to if I can't a name that I like, how do I know if names are available? I can't find a name checker outside of the character creator now...
Any suggestions? Am I overlooking an obvious tool somewhere? -
Parts do seem harder. Other parts are easier. Thermal is a more supporty oriented set, especially, so if that alt is trying to tackle the tougher stuff solo, I'm not surprised you're having some tough times.
I'd be willing to bet if you started in Paragon City and ran the Death from Below a couple of times, and got yourself a few SOs and the long term buffs, that it would seem worlds easier. And that you'd probably be able to team more, if you were so inclined, which makes the low level content easier still.
All that said, you might suck a bit, too.I honestly don't know on that front, but I'll admit when I take even a short hiatus, my skills do for sure drop.
What server are you on? If you're in-game on any of the servers I play on, I'd be happy to team for a bit, to lend a hand, or whatever.. -
Is there any way to get these badges any more?
