Quote:Yes we know that the acid/pacify badges seem to be incorrectly linked together as in you have to get them all at once during one run or you get none of them. But they're not awarding that way either, as evidenced by my team.
But if you had a situation where you should have gotten them all in one run and didn't then you've either stumbled upon another related bug or something else happened in your unique situation to cause the badges to not trigger. Like Ironblade mentioned I was just on a league late last night that earned the MoLambda so apparently it's still possible to get in this current software build.
I guess if I were in your situation I'd petition it and see what happens. Chances are the GMs won't be able to help you but you never know. Good luck. -
Quote:Things like skateboarding and motocross-style motorcycling were "trendy" things back in the 1970s so I guess on some level it kind of made sense for them to have Wonder Woman do them to get teenager types interested in the show.Totally forgot those. On other hand why would someone with the strength and speed of the gods need to use a skate board or motorcycle?

I'm betting they'll have this new Wonder Woman do "trendy" things too and I'm quite sure people will use that as a point to criticize it not realizing that Lynda Carter already blazed that trail of cheesiness... -
Quote:No dream there...I seem to recall a Skateboarding Costume she used at least once.
Unless I dreamed it, one time villains are getting away, so she spins, and changes costume to have helmet, and knee / elbow pads, and skateboards after the fleeing car.
I'd have to go through my old Wonder Woman DVDs to find it though.
Dang good dream if I just made up that memory though.

and if you want to get picky her swimming outfit doubled as her "motorcycle" outfit too:
Is there any amount of cheese the 1970s couldn't conjure up?

Quote:The fact that most characters in this game (except VEATs) are currently allowed to have FIVE costumes suddenly makes that much more sense doesn't it?Forgot about that costume change when it changed networks and eras. So we have:
1. ABC costume which was close to the golden age costume in design appearance.
2. Silver age costume that she used starting with the CBS version.
3. Costume with star spangled cape
4. "generic costume" in the Roy Rogers episode due to alleged concerns about wearing the WW costume with all those kids around.
5. Undersea costume

Quote:What rule or law states that any player should be able to earn any reward in a MMO regardless of the amount of effort they put into the game? If you could point that out to me then I might be sympathetic to the idea that these costs are too high.anyone know why the costs on these are so horrible?
how the heck is a person who solo's and does no trial/tf content EVER supposed to get a rare enh let alone 4+
The very connotation of the phrase "causal player" implies someone who either can't or won't do what is necessary earn everything possible in a MMO. It's not the game's job to make everything "easy enough" for everyone. The game's job is to offer a series of challenges that can be obtained depending on how much skill, time and effort you can apply towards that challenge.
They don't give out Superbowl rings to every player in the NFL - only the players that win the Superbowls get those.
The same basic principle applies here as well. -
I guess my point is it seems weird that a funeral parlour could ever be "dressed up" to be initially mistaken as a bank or other type of retail outlet at first glance. It's just not what I think of when I think "funeral parlour". *shrugs*
-
What if a given person who just died was a huge zombie fan? They'd probably want to be taken to the funeral parlor that apparently seems to "cater" to the zombie enthusiast.

Anyway in this hyper-PC world we live in it doesn't surprise me that there are people who don't have a sense of humor about this. I genuinely feel sorry for those people. *shrugs* -
Quote:I'm sure it's great for what it is and does. I just found it funny that the funeral parlour was getting upset by the billboard when their OWN public image seems a bit off-putting and semi-creepy to me.In defence of the Co-Op, it's always been known as the "cheap and cheerful" option for a funeral, as opposed to the more stately, sedate and sensible funeral parlors, more aimed at the bereaved on a low budget.

-
To be honest I'm more "offended" (or at least bothered) by a funeral parlour that looks more like a mainstreet retail outlet than a respectful establishment. That "storefront" just looks tacky and out-of-place. Sure the zombie billboard right next to it is ironic, but I probably wouldn't bother going to that particular business in the first place.

Quote:Was this technically news that she was going to have more than one costume? I thought I read an article a few months go when they first started talking about this new show where they mentioned her still having the classic "shorts" version of her costume and that she'd wear it at some point.Article
So, the 2 costumes we've already seen (shiny pants and non-shiny pants) are BOTH going to be in the show, as well as a not-yet-seen third costume that will be the more iconic look, with the short shorts.
At first I thought, "Why does she need three costumes?" Then I thought of my wife, and all her clothes taking up 3/4 of our closet (I'm grudgingly allowed the remaining 1/4). And her clothes in the hall closet. And those in the other hall closet. And the ones taking up most of the room in the closet in my son's room. And the ones in the two cedar chests. And the clothes in the armoires (stand-alone closets). Oh, and her clothes in the dressers in our bedroom. So yeah, we're lucky there are only three costumes!
Besides as has been mentioned even the Lynda Carter version of Wonder Woman had several costumes. Lynda's basic costume even changed significantly enough between the ABC show and the CBS show that you could almost call that yet another costume.
I guess it never occurred to me that this new Wonder Woman would NOT have more than one costume style.

Quote:I typically have 8 trays spread around on my screen. I don't personally shift them around too often, but I realize it could be a significant QoL issue for some people. That in and of itself is enough of a justification to suggest this idea as a QoL improvement. And for the record I'd love to have the OPTION of having 4 or 5 attached trays instead of just 3 at this point. No arguing it'd save time, but how much? How many people will have 9 trays on the screen to move? How often will they switch screen resolutions after each adjustment?
Strawman much? No one ever said anyone wanted 9 attached trays without the OPTION to have 8, 5 or any number in-between. That's what my phrase "up to nine" trays meant. Right now we have the OPTION to have 2 or 3 attached trays. Would it actually have been that much harder for the Devs to have given us the OPTION to also have 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 attached trays if we wanted back when they shortsightedly worked on increasing the original number only from 2 to 3? Based on my nearly 20 years of software engineering experience I feel very confident in saying "no" that question. *shrugs*Quote:Noted, but then there'd have been the whole 'I can't see crap on my screen because half of it is taken up by my fat 9 layer tray!' issue that they also solved when they gave you the option of shaping the unattached trays as extra windows. So they kind of broke even on the effort depart, I'd say
-
Quote:But sadly it won't be because it's a good movie. If it manages any kind of "surge" in DVD/Blu-Ray sales it'll be because people will want to try to justify their 72" flat-screen home theater they bought with 15-20 minutes worth of fast-forwarded eye-candy. Isn't that what Avatar was for? This will definitely be one of the films that folks consider must-haves for their Blu-Ray collections.Quote:Will have to wait and see how it does with dvd sales! Donnie Darko didnt break even(yes this movies is no donnie darko) at the box office but it more than doubled its box office sales with dvd sales! Granted both box office and dvd sales for darko were very small numbers...i would say the jury is still out for a few months.

Quote:Even if he'd have to move his one big attached multi-tray GUI that would just be ONE thing to move. With lots of unattached trays you have to waste the time moving and readjusting each one. The time savings of being able to have many attached trays together should be obvious to anyone.I still find the addition of this questionable. You want to link more trays to the larger one because you have to move them every time you switch screens? Well, you'd have to do that anyway even if they were linked. That you have to move some individual trays instead is, like, 5 seconds of your time which isn't that much effort.
Please describe to me how not having your trays attached forces so much more effort that the devs should be using *their* efforts to help you.
And as to the Devs "using their efforts" to help with this as I just stated in my last post the Devs already "used" some effort some years ago to give us 3 attached trays instead of the original 2. If they had done it right the first time (by letting us attach up to all nine trays together) then this problem would have been avoided years ago.
-
Quote:It's funny but about 5 years ago when the Devs first gave us the improvements that gave us the 3 attached trays (remember when the game launched we could only have 2 trays like that) I mentioned the fact that sooner or later 3 trays were not going to be enough. At the time I suggested that the Devs should just cut to the chase once and for all and allow up to ALL NINE trays be attached so they would never have to revisit this issue again. We currently have the ability to creating floating power trays and place anywhere on the screen. However, you cant dock them with the other 3 standard trays. ( if you can, I havent figured it out )
With the addition of incarnate powers, I'm having issues finding room on the standard trays, and floating trays I find to be somewhat awkward to use. (there's always something popping up to obscure them )
Suggestion:
- Addition of a fourth attached power tray at the bottom
OR
- Ability to attach the floating power trays.
I guess we're at a point where "I told them so" is appropriate to say.

Quote:As a badgewhore who's killed hundreds of people in "trupvp" while working badges I always get a good chuckle from the gross generalization that "all badgers are carebears". Actually that silly assumption helps me in PvP because most "trupvpers" fatally underestimate my ability to quickly smack them down. lol.The devs should put in a badge for the last clicker so everyone can have a mexican standoff while the counter goes down. At last the badgewhores can participate in trupvp.
Anyway, as a more serious suggestion I'd at least make the queue popup continue to make an annoying noise to alert a possibly AFK player that they need to push a button. Right now when the queue popup come up it only makes one little "ping" and then goes silent. If the pop-up kept making a constant noise it might be able to wake up more people who've dozed off waiting for these things to start.Quote:There should be a list of some sort at least so tells can be sent to the players who haven't clicked in. Being afk or checking email would be a downer for someone who misses the click-in window of opportunity.

I think you answered your own question. Based on how many Incarnate trial related mapserves I saw on Virtue over the weekend it seems pretty clear that that new I20 content is stretching these servers to the limit. It's unfortunately not surprising that the busiest servers (Freedom and Virtue) are the ones most likely to be affected by problems like these. *shrugs*
-
Quote:Yeah sadly these new style-Master trials do have a number of new ways they can be griefed.Last night we had 3 rads bombarding Marauder and likely would have obtained the win until someone got a grenade from the crate and threw it.......despite being repeatedly told by the league leader NO GRENADES, ad infinitum.
Fortunately I don't think that's going to happen all too often.
Better luck next time. -
The IXP thing was just a game mechanic throttle to keep too many people from instantly unlocking all of their Incarnate slots. It's the same reason Issue 19.5 introduced the Notices that forced you to play at least a few weeks worth of WSTs to get your Alphas fully slotted.
The Devs want you to have a reason to keep playing for a while to make sure everyone has a fair chance to get on full trial leagues for at least a few weeks/months. If everyone could easily unlock all of their incarnate slots like in a day then no one would be around to keep running them.
Besides that in a few months from now no one will be caring about IXP one way of the other anyway. *shrugs* -
Quote:I understand what you mean when you say there might be people on a team/league who would vote yes to see the cut-scene just as a means to "grief" everyone else into wasting some time.Yes, I can see the drawbacks of having one person on a League decide to grief by forcing everyone to watch it for the umpteenth time or lag causing someone to miss the pop up box. And you'll probably get overly controlling leaders demanding to know what happenned and threatening people who say they wanted to watch it.
But if you take a step back you can basically say that under the current mandatory cut-scene system the Devs are effectively griefing us ALL the time EVERY time with these cut-scenes. As a worse case scenario if someone griefed you by voting yes the worst thing that would happen is that you'd have to live through what we are already living through right now.
A least the vote system you're describing would give us a CHANCE to be able to skip these cut-scenes while being fair to everyone.
-
Quote:You sure about that? This trial was designed with the idea in mind that eventually people will not only have the current 5 incarnate aspects unlocked but that people will eventually have all 10 aspects unlocked and slotted. At some point it'll probably almost be trivial to take Marauder down without pacifying himWe've been pounding on Marauder now for a while last night and it seems you have to have a LOT of exotic damage to take him down without pacifying him. I really doubt thats the mechanic that the dev's invisiged to complete this MO badge set however

Basically the pacification grenades are like "training wheels" to allow "low" level incarnates to finish the trial. So-called "high" level incarnates won't need them. -
Quote:You're not the only one. I was on a similar run where we got all the acids and pacifiers, did not use any of them until time was getting close and we decided to use one pacifier on Marauder to finish him but did not get the "use no acids" badge. Apparently they are in fact bugged so that you have to get all 3 "grenade usage" badges together or you get none at all.are the three badges linked, was it a bug, did we did something wrong. ?.. can anyone give some info?

Quote:I saw that fifth table one time during a BAF where I had gotten mapserved and missed out on a large part of the trial. I managed to finally get back in like 30 seconds before the end. Not too bad of a choice because when you choose the option for Threads you get 10 of them. It was certainly better than nothing.According to this thread:
"Actually, there is a fifth reward table. Which only gives Threads or a Super Inspiration.
Should have screenshotted it, but it exists - only seen it once though!"
-
I got a Shard during a Lambda trial while attacking one of the MOBs outside the walls. I see no reason why this is a "bug" of any kind - I just see it as the "rare random chance drop from killing a MOB" situation. *shrugs*
