Quote:If you didn't change anything, how did you use a tailor coupon?I wish I had known that before I wasted a My Free Tailor Cupon. I was so excited too. I guess I should have read the forums a month ago huh! Another I-16 disappointment !.
Also, more free tailor coupons are being issued tomorrow, each character getting one for each costume slot unlocked. -
Quote:Given that the one you lists says "infected explosion" and the Parent Power description is "Suicide Special. Self-destruct Infected." I'm pretty sure that's the listing for the Temp Power from Dr Creeds mission. The Parent Power has a recharge of 10 seconds as well, so it's not the Cyber Self-destruct. Snake-B-Gone is listed in the same section. All Temp Powers seem to plop into here.
Can't find the Cyber self-destruct in that list at all though.
*Edit : Ah ha. I think this is it. In a different section for some reason. No idea why. Does 520 damage according to that. Hmmm. Almost tempting for my Stone/Fire Brute...Quote:See, now this is what I would expect from this kind of power. Heck even half of this would be worthwhile.
In case you didn't notice, the power being linked to, that you wish the Cyborg Pack Self Destruction Power was half of, is the the Cyborg Pack Self Destruction Power.
The power that you linked to earlier was the self destruct power that cause the infected to blow up in Doctor Creed's mission.
So....wish granted! -
Quote:It has been theorized that the road here (and the scaffolding under construction on the southern side of Steel Canyon) will lead to a launching pad which will take us to a moonbase / space station. It just looks like some kind of walkway. I've noticed that it has been expanding. It's kind of down the cliff on the side of the Arena which faces the ocean.
One of the construction workers of course, said he didn't know why they were building it, and that no one told him anything. XD
Is it just a walkway that goes from the Mercy Isle Ferry to the Port Oakes?
If so... why does it look like they are building it out towards the ocean..........
(New game content coming! Underwater missions soon, where you discover the Coralax Civilization! J/K, but it would be cool.....)
IIRC, if you look at the map of the Rogue Isles that came in the Good vs. Evil or Architect Edition, there is a rocket icon on the coast of Port Oakes. -
Quote:Even if the ability to "go rogue" were the only feature, Positron confirmed in an interview that there would be new Story Arcs you would undertake in order to do so. You would make choices during these arcs that would move your "moral compass" one direction or the other. So, if my understanding of GR is correct, there is still no new content coming out for CoX? Your hero becomes a villain and runs villaing missions (which have already been run) and villains run hero missions (which have already been run).
It has also been confirmed by Positron in another interview that Praetoria would consist of multiple Zones.
Quote:When is there ever going to be a content upgrade? The biggest issue is the level cap. It has been 50 for waaaaaaay to long. At this point, it should jump up to 70. They also need to add at least 2 new maps for each mission flavor (i.e. office, warehouse, etc.). I really do not care that my blaster can now blast in blue and black. I would much rather have some major new content introduced. Simply allowing you to switch sides and play the content that has been around for 4+ years is, well, lazy at best...and we are supposed to buy this as an expansion? Maybe I am way off base here but they really need to get content and get it soon. In the next 24 months, there will be some really amazing MMOs released (no, not talking about Champions whose graphics are annoying at best and actually ripped sounds straight from CoX).
C'mon...where is level 70?
Raising the level cap requires that the entire game, which was balanced around 50 levels, be rebalanced around the new cap. This would likely mean more levels between powers, and fewer slots per level without a new power, all to artifically inflate the game.
Our developers are smart enough to know that a level cap raise is a temporary fix for a permanent problem. They also realize that they don't need to do the extra work to rebalance the game, all they need to do is add more content. With many major systems upgrades out of the way (with the exception of a graphics upgrade which has been hinted at), I think the Devs are going to be able to refocus on new content and powersets to keep them fresh against their competition. -
Quote:The OP is complaining about his custom mobs being tougher than similar mobs in the world (comparing a Dark Blast / Dark Miasma mob to a CoT Death Mage), and we have agreed that this is true and explained why.Actually, I've noticed the custom mobs are more difficult than standard ones. Plus they have incredible agro range.
However, my post that you quoted is in response to his assertion in the OP that all mobs are tougher to beat in the Architect, he then used his difficulties fighting Cimeroans backed by his custom mobs and compared that to fighting Nemesis out in the world.
No one is arguing about the obscene difficulty of some custom mobs. -
Quote:Slammer farms were quite popular because they were weak mobs, and provided good xp for little risk. They were not made harder just in the Architect, they were made harder out in the world, too.I'm not trying to farm, so I'm not quite sure why that keeps coming up. Also, several posters have said that the enemies aren't any harder than outside. If that were the case then why were Maniac slammers changed in AE? They now have a fear and stun component. I have built the paramaters as such:
Quote:1. I am fighting Balder-Boss-DB/Inv, Hephestus-Boss-Stone/Stone, Hades-LT-Dark/Dark, and Apollo-Boss-Arch/FM. All on standard build.
Quote:2. Most are surruonded by Cimerorians, some COT Demons.
3.They are all even level con, except the bosses who are OJ, and the LT, yellow.
Quote:4. When fighting these same mobs in realworld situations, I DESTROY them.
Never mind the fact that, in a previous post, you compared fighting Cimeroans in the Architect to fighting Nemesis in the world. You made no mention of being able to melt Cimeroan mobs prior to the post I am quoting. We can only base our opinions off of the information you provide us, and if things don't add up, we will point that out.
Quote:5.I set each up to be just like what you'd have in regular missions. Death Mage-Dark/Dark-(Standard?) surrounded by COT Demons. Only diffrence is my "Death Mage" is a custom. Why are Customs so much harder? They must have been stealth buffed. . .I think that is the case. Not saying permanently, but for the time being, as a "bandaid fix" I think this is what happend.
Quote:Furthermore, what gives any of you who were "Nerd Rage Bashing" and basically bashing my opinion, who gave you the POWER to state your opinion and then call it right. IF you want to have a serious discussion, then you post your opinion, how you think yours is right, but you don't attack the persons' opinion that you think is wrong. Grow up and have an intellectual post of your opinon not an Ad hominem one.
For the record, your opinion ("Standard enemies in the Architect are tougher than they are in the world") is wrong, and I believe we have sufficiently proven that. However, you continue to argue it in the face of overwhelming evidence. -
Quote:They started with Primary and Secondary powersets available to all players. Biggest return for their effort.Yeah I was looking forward to changing the mental powers on my Fortunata(Viridian Lynx) to green to match his colour scheme, but apparently that can't be done.
Is there a good reason for excluding those powers that's been mentioned by the devs?
Can't seem to recall any discussion on that. But maybe I wasn't paying attention.
They have intimated that, with the sets that are available to everyone out of the way, they will start on Power Pools and APPs / PPPs next, which may require modifications to the interface (do they let us select and take up memory customizing powersets we don't have yet, or do they "unlock" the customization for those Pools once we have access to them, etc.).
I would expect that EAT customization would come after Pool Powers (smallest return for the effort).
It will probably happen eventually, but they have bigger, more important fish to fry first. -
Quote:They haven't made any mobs harder in the AE than they are in "the world."I got it to work now, but MY BEJEEZUS they made the MOBS rediculously hard. Fighting even level minions (5) and (1) LT, stomped my crack into the dirt. I just tested myself against outside lvl mobs in PI minions and was able to take on 5 machine minions from Nemisis faction and (2) LT's from the same faction. I was fighting Cims in my mission. I am REGEN, so dmg type and dmg mitigation is the same for both. Why DEVS? Why make AE not even playable for people who want to create fun stuff for their RP toons?
I give ya'll 2 Thumbs Down in the area of AE!
I'd much rather take on 5 Nemesis minions and 2 Nemesis Lieutenants than 5 Cimeroan Traitors with a Regen. The Cimeroans will hit you with stacking Defense Debuffs, which means they are hitting you much more often than the Nemesis are.
You should be using the same mobs in the world and in the AE, and reporting dissimilar results. Using different mob types and expecting the same results is skewing your findings. -
Quote:Stupid question first:I've made an Olypian Test for my Demi-God against a map full of my custom bosses. They are set to have minions and LT's around them, they are set at standard. So why am I not getting xp? What do you have to do to make this crappy AE work.
Are you testing the mission?
Or have you published the mission?
There are no rewards in an unpublished mission. Test is used so that you can verify that the mobs are spawning correctly and that the mission text is executing properly.
Once you publish it and have an ARC ID, you should receive rewards for selecting it and running it as normal. -
Quote:Dear Mouse Mafia,Dear Devs,
We have taken Mrs. Fluffikins. It will only be returned if you proliferate Martial Arts to Dominators in the next batch.
If not, Fluffikins will be hooked on cat nip and forced to do internet kitty porn.
Sincerly,
The Mouse Mafia.
Ps... there's a whole round of Gouda in it for you.
Please return Mrs. Fluffikins. It is unfair of you to try to pin upon us the responsibility for the fate of Mrs. Fluffikins. How can we free Mrs. Fluffikins when you present us with an impossible demand? Therefore, I put it to you that it has been your plan all along to force Mrs. Fluffikins into the internet kitty porn racket, and that you have no expectations of your demands being met.
I put forth to you that Dominators have two types of powersets. Control and Assault. Martial Arts does not fit into either category. As it stands, your demands are incompatible with the game.
So it falls upon me to say, we do not negotiate with terrorists. Return Mrs. Fluffikins, or we shall unleash Dex-Starr upon you. This threat is not made idly, Dex-Starr is my third cousin on my father's side. He will respond to your threats against his kin.
We look forward to Mrs. Fluffikins' safe return.
Sincerely,
Mr. Fluffikins -
Fixed that for you.
The Devs don't want you to farm in the Mission Architect. They said it repeatedly before and after it launched. They regularly delete reported farms and lock the publishing slots. They have even rolled back characters that have taken advantage of farming exploits and banned accounts that made farming exploits.
What part of their words and actions were unclear? Sadly, the players (in general) were also clear in their actions in response. The players said, "Ban us! Roll us back! Lock our slots! Make as many threats as you like, we are still going to farm the heck out your Architect, and there is nothing you can do to stop us!" while flipping the Devs the bird.
The problems you and others are now experiencing in the Architect is the Devs saying, "Wanna bet?" Every single AE nerf that has come down the pipe has been in direct response to the rampant farming of AE, and more nerfs will continue to be handed down until it is no longer preferable to farm the AE over Dev controlled content.
With Issue 16, they have given you the tools to farm to your heart's content outside of the Architect, where they have strict control over the risk and the reward. Please use them so that the Devs can stop nerfing the Architect.
I have no sympathy for you for the increased difficulty you have fighting the Slammers you melted previously to "pharm phat lewtz." -
Quote:And finally, haven't gotten to look into it much yet, but is there a bug (and word on a fix if so) with the tailor tokens that were supposed to be issued according to the number of costumes you have?
It's not a bug. You haven't received your expected number of tailor tokens because they haven't been issued yet. (or the Devs hate you, your pick)
The tailor tokens are going to be issued after the server maintenance on Friday. -
Quote:As a power only available in a purchasable booster pack, it is supposed to be a "fluff" power. The Devs have promised that they will not create any game changing or must have powers in the boosters. Powers that are nice to have, yes, necessary to have, never.
<snip>
Now, I guess I should ask: what is the proper usage of the self-destruct power so that it maximizes damage? I don't necessarily want damage on the same level as Fallout or other damage-dealing nukes. But the glaringly minimal output of the power makes me not want to use it at all. I feel like I paid 10 bucks for dance emotes and costume pieces and that's it.
To me, the costs of using Self Destruct far outweigh the benefits. Here's how I see it:
1. Typical, and likely expected, usage of self-destruct would be when you have a minuscule amount of health left. Basically, it's an ohshi power. And that's how the marketers have sold it..."Some situations call for the ultimate sacrifice." Those are the exact words used by marketing.
2. After usage, you either have to go to the hospital or use an awaken that you have. Teammates cannot res you, nor can they give you inspirations (I don't think they can do anything with you once it's been used: no veng, no fallout, etc.)
3. I think this is correct, but can't find the source to confirm; the power has a 1 hour cooldown so it's not like you can use it over and over again.
4. Even if Self Destruct were to be used like a Tier 9 power, such as Inferno or Psychic Wail, while the user is at full health, the damage output would still be significantly less than either of the aforementioned powers.
5. This might be like comparing apples to oranges, but the benefits given by the Tarot Card power, which is part of the Magic Booster, are greater than Self Destruct without nearly the same costs. There's no negative after-effects, no 1 hour cooldown. As far as I can see, it's nothing but good
I love the self-destruct power. I like how it was designed and I think the costs of using the power prevent it from being exploited. However, I think the utter lack of noticeable damage makes the power un-fun and not very worthwhile to use. I'd be better off having a Defender or Controller who has fallout use my body as a nuke and then res me. MUCH greater damage to the mob AND I'm brought back to life all buffed up! WIN!
<snip>
You will notice that the "tarot" power is random, has two possible debuff effects, and cannot target self. These limit the power's usefulness. Similarly, Self Destruction has a long cool down and cannot be easily buffed. It is meant to be a fluff power, not the cornerstone of your strategy.
I use it as get out of debt free card or a makeshift teleporter. I have yet to pay any attention the amount of damage it does (one time, I was attacked by an ambush while I was "teleporting" to the hospital, and it laid out both of my attackers. I was level 8 at the time).
Some folks have offered some debtless self rez strategies, but to compare it to any nuke is simply wrong. As a power you need to buy, and available at level 1, it's power should never approach that of a nuke.
Self Destruction is a fluff power, and as such, does not require any buffing at all in order to retain its fluff status. -

From the July 15th announcement of the (then) upcoming Issue 16: Power Spectrum
Quote:Customizable Powers
Customizable powersets include Cold Domination, Dark Armor, Dark Blast, Dark Melee, Dark Miasma, Earth Control, Electric Armor, Electric Assault, Electric Blast, Electric Melee, Electricity Manipulation, Empathy, Energy Assault, Energy Aura, Energy Blast, Energy Manipulation, Energy Melee, Fiery Aura, Fire Assault, Fire Blast, Fire Control, Fire Manipulation, Fire Melee, Force Field, Gravity Control, Ice Armor, Ice Assault, Ice Blast, Ice Control, Ice Manipulation, Ice Melee, Illusion, Invulnerability, Kinetics, Mental Manipulation, Mind Control, Necromancy, Ninjitsu, Pain Domination, Plant Control, Poison, Psionic Assault, Psychic Blast, Radiation Blast, Radiation Emission, Regeneration, Sonic Resonance, Sonic Attack, Spines, Stone Armor, Stone Melee, Storm Summoning, Super Reflexes, Thermal Radiation, Thorny Assault and Willpower.
Super Strength and Martial Arts will each receive an alternate animation for their powers, and Stone Armor and Necromancy will include limited customization.
You made an assumption based on no evidence. Even popping onto the forum and asking a question would have gotten you the answer you were looking for very quickly, as the EATs not being customizable has been common knowledge since July 15th.
We have been told that with the lion's share of the powers done, next on the Power Customization table would be the Pool Powers, then the APPs / PPPs. EATs may or may not follow, since they are initimately tied into the canon.
Even if they do allow EAT customization, you may not be able to customize the Nova or Dwarf forms, for reasons similar to why you cannot customize Granite Armor. These aren't VFX that overlay your character. These forms are NPC models that replace your character. In order to make it work under the current system, they would need to make a separate NPC model for every possible color combination. -
Quote:Don't feel bad for not knowing this:If both enhancements are already slotted, they are slotted and can't be moved. You can get a third enhancement and combine it with one of the slotted ones, but once any enhancement is slotted, its stuck there until you respec or put another one on top of that.
I was three years into the game before I learned this little tid bit. -
I have names and costumes queued up for:
Ice / Cold Controller - Beautiful Snowflake
Elec / Elec Scrapper - Human Dynamo
Elec / Elec Tanker - Professor Ohm
Claws / Dark Brute - Snuggles the Bear
Arch / TA Corruptor - Blacquethorne
And trying to come up with costumes and concepts that I am happy with for the other proliferated powersets. I'm just not happy with the names and concepts I came up with for the Rad / Fire Blaster, Traps / AR Defender, Earth / Earth Dominator, Ninja / Thermal MM or Broadsword / SR Stalker I made on Test. -
Quote:Here's a question I never though to ask. Does the autocomplete function work with AE, or does the Task Force code prevent it?The biggest problem with AE as a storytelling tool is that the contact text is not pushed out to the rest of the team. The team members can open the posted mission text and read it if the team slows down to permit it, but generally that doesn't happen, and as far as I know they can't see all the contact chat before and after accepting a mission. And they usually don't pause to let everyone read it anyway.
Since AE stories can be entirely unlike the rest of the game canon, this has the effect of not knowing what on earth you're seeing while these arbitrary-looking enemies pound on you.
Frankly all mission and contact text should be shared to the team without the option to avoid it (just close it if you don't want to read it). If the game is about stories, tell the stories.
If it works, couldn't everyone queue up the same arc, autocomplete each mission with the mission holder, and get the next mission and debriefing text from the Contact?
Obviously, if it doesn't work, then the rest of the team misses out on the Debriefing and, IIRC, the Clues, and a nice team leader will need to copy / paste the text for the rest of the team. -
Quote:That's the way this forum works. Bad suggestions get decently large threads, good suggestions get a little activity and usually fall away into obscurity.Originally Posted by samson_sledgeGuys,im sorry, but I just noticed something.I made this thread yesterday, and it is above 24 posts. No major record,I understand, but even all of you wernt this quick to try and destroy AE for other players. It's as though you have something to hide, like, intentional poor teaming habits that make it bad for everyone else?
Bad suggestions usually wind up large because the OP feels the need to come back and defend his idea, then attack the detractors so that he doesn't need to spend any effort refining his idea to make it better. This leads the detractors to point out what the OP is doing, the OP counters, and so it goes. Thus, spectacularly bad ideas live a long time, and grow quickly, just like this one.
Good suggestions usually get a few posts of positive response, and since nobody is arguing about anything, once everyone's piece has been said, the thread gets left alone and fades into relative obscurity.

The ones who don't care about maximum XP gain ... won't.
I tend to team up with 3-4 people all the time, mostly just my friends, because our playstyle is compatible. Dave has little kids in his house; he often has to make us wait while he's putting one to bed, or feeding them dinner, or making them stop hitting each other with rocks. Joe is a nurse and is often "on call" and may have to leave the team without warning. Jon likes to stop and chat with people on IRC. Quote:Agreed. If I'm looking to join a Supergroup, the last thing I care about is their supergroup ranking (I've never been bothered to check for any of the Supergroups I have joined). Most important factor is how fun they are to team with and talk to (It sounds like the OP has a fun group, if a bit hung up on the inconsequential). A functional base is nice, preferably with the telepads, but not necessary. I was able to get around just fine before I joined the group, therefore I don't require them to be my taxi service now that I have joined.Your chain of events fails in making the assumption that they paid real money for inf then converted it. If they've confirmed they did RMT, then report them. The devs are not about to cut off inf>prestige conversion just because some people might be doing something that is already against the rules, to advance on what is essentially a meaningless statistic.
#1 prestige ranking is a pointless number. I'm glad you've had fun doing the things you did to get it, but by no means should you get so wrapped up in it as to think the number itself is important.
Let them blow as much influence as they want to bump their Prestige. You can spend the same amount of influence making your characters better, which is much more important -

Just because no one is flocking to support your suggestion does not mean that we shoot down every suggestion.Gee,i dont think that any suggestion that I,or anyone else made, plays with this crowd. Is it something to just tear down to make yourselves feel better,or something?
I think that people like you all make "Suggestion and Ideas" a gigantic joke thread.
Is it that,or do you just want to not loose your ability to save "No" ober and over and over"
..and,i suppse that, just like AE farming,(May the high one bless it)people who refuse, and not team with each other constantly, over and over, and over,is one of the things ruining this game in my opinion, and also, people who ignore each others tells for teaming is another.

What would happen if people were to say no,over and over to suggestions made in thsi thread, like they do in the game?It would pretty much be decommissioned due to lack of interest.
Just from the first page:
Click that gives Endurance met with a lukewarm response, mostly with the caveat that they would support it as part of a new powerset.
For Fun? isnt really a suggestion, so it doesnt count.
Maybe SOME Open-World Missions has met with generally positive response, provided that some way is found to eliminate spawn camping and somebody else ninjaing your objective.
5th Side Poll at 41 has failed to gain any steam, largely due to the fact that the thread title is not truly indicative of what is in the thread. The little conversation going on in there is positive.
Veteran Reward Respec is new, and hasnt gotten any steam yet, but it will be largely supported, as it is every time the suggestion comes up.
We could do with SHAMBLE hasnt really been shot down, and has gotten some support. Most of the people in the negative are not objecting to the idea, just the feasibility of seeing it any time soon.
Post 50 powergain has met with a lukewarm response, much of which narrowing down to posting of the Dev stance on powers post 50, and wait and see what the upcoming post 50 advancement hinted at by the Devs turns out to be.
Report Reputation Abuse has met with lukewarm support, mostly because you already can do so, just not with the touch of a button. The OP has also been given lots of good advice concerning forum Reputation and its worth.
I think Ive made my case. We arent just a bunch of jerkfaces who love to shoot down good ideas. We support good ideas. We shoot down bad ones. If your idea cannot stand the harsh light of criticism, maybe it isnt a good idea after all.
Just something to think about. -

Quote:They aren't using trial accounts.Who isn't fed up with the spam that overflows our in-boxes? Everytime I log in there are several emails (sometimes hundreds) from websites asking me to buy infamy/influence or powerleveling, etc. with real world cash. The in-game email has become completely useless. Who wants to wade through pages of spam to get to the one email that you might have from a friend. I don't think anyone uses it anymore because of this. In-game email was once a fun way to contact your friends and packmates. Now it's just another annoying way for abusers to aggravate players. The devs should know by now that these people are using temp accounts. One gets blocked by the player or deleted by the devs and they just make another account. The question is then, why do temp accounts have email privileges? It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that if you take away those privileges and ban anyone who is caught spamming with their main account then you solve the problem. Why hasn't this been enacted? It doesn't make any sense to allow these people to go on harassing paying customers. Please take away email from temp accounts.
Trial accounts have significant restrictions, among them that trial accounts cannot send tells, cannot send e-mails, and cannot speak in broadcast. Almost every single restriction on a trial account is there to fight RMT spammers, including the fact that they cannot form teams, join or form supergroups and cannot hold more than 50,000 influence. The only restriction Trial accounts have that I can't see being at all related to the RMT trade is that they can't level past 14.
RMT spammers are using real accounts, either their own, or the accounts of idiots who buy powerleveling services from them. They will continue to do so as long as enough idiots use their services for them to turn even a miniscule profit. Granted, most of the credit card numbers used to open the accounts are either fraudulent, or belong to the idiots who buy their wares.
Issue 16 will give us another weapon to use against them. Issue 16 will introduce an e-mail filter so that we can choose to receive e-mail from only our friends, our supergroup, or both. We will even be able to simply turn it off and not receive e-mail from anyone.
The spammers will try to find another way, we just have to wait and see what they try next. -
Quote:The issue would be that some other player saw the character in question and reported it. Without actually seeing the costume and bio that goes with the name, it is hard to tell what the petitioning player found offensive or decided was against the EULA. I know when I petition a EULA violation, I specify whether it is the name, costume or bio that is violating the EULA. I generally petition if two or three of the three violate unless it is really blatant. Most of the time, though, if one factor is really blatant, one of the other factors is in violation, too. I have never seen a "W0l\/3R1N3" that didn't also rip off one of Wolverine's many costumes (for the record, I have never come across a Wolverine rip off that used the "Patch" costume).Marvel may have copyrighted the superhero name Archangel, but I doubt they have copyrighted the superhero name Arc Angel'
I would think that GMs patrolling the game looking for EULA violations is pretty rare. I imagine that most of the time when someone is generalized, it is due to a player petition. I do know that the Marvel suit conditioned our GMs to err on the side of caution. This means that they probably generic the character first, and ask questions later. There is a process where you can appeal if you feel that you were generalized in error, and people have had their names and costumes restored in the past. It is my understanding that the "powers that be" would rather spend the time and energy to go through this appeals process than risk another suit.
To the OP: Your partner should have appealed. If the character did not look like Warren Worthington III in any of his many costumes (Not just the Apocalypse granted Death / Archangel costume, as he has recently begun to revert to the Archangel persona and powers while enraged. Thus any costume that evokes any of his Angel costumes might be fair game), and the bio did not say that he was a billionaire mutant playboy, you should be able to obtain a reversal.
