  1. Im not sure how it's accomplished. I can say that when you're teamed, you see the would based on the team leader's experiences.

In Beta, I was leading and saw one contact, then I passed the star and saw the other contact.
  2. I just checked now with an ouro mission. mission exemps me to lvl 24.

I killed a lvl 24 freak lieut, got 760 inf, and 46 prestige. 24 minion, got 186 inf and 14 prestige. I am set to double influence, noXP while exemplared.

This compares to unexemped at lvl 27, CoT lieut got 355 and 48 prestige. 27 minion, 62 inf and 14 prestige. XP off.

So to earn max influence I should run exemplared, either through ouro or teaming with LOWER level toons.
  3. I just checked again myself, XP turned off or on, makes no difference. I still make 62 inf and 14 prestige. Why am I under the impression I should get more influence when not earning XP?

My setting in game for XP while exemplared is double influence, no XP. So turning off XP is not the same as teaming with someone else who is lower than you?

If I run ouro arcs where Im running under my fighting lvl, will I earn double influence and no XP?
  4. Turn XP off and see what you get. Shouldn't we get double influence when not earning XP?
  5. Oh Im sorry, I forgot to put that. I am lvl 27. I think I was fighting the Carnival of War, when I bugged it. I was running the mission at +0/2.
  6. running a solo mission in SG mode with XP turned off? Does anyone know if there is a formula I could calculate what I should be getting?

I just bugged a mission last night because I was earning only 61 inf from an even con minion and 355 against a lieut. It seems way low.

Yeah, it's only like 92% of the damage Aim offers (at least if you start counting post cast), but when you consider the incessant whining about a lack of BU it's really a surprise people don't count the Defiance numbers.

Timb Bomb is 52.8% for 16.5 seconds. Trip mine is 26.4% for 12.5.

If you play smart, run ahead on teams, etc, you can turn those puppies into a good chunk of burst damage without much detractor. Yes, Aim + BU are easier, simpler, etc, but as it were Blaster's require about the most finesse and forethought of any AT anyway.
On one hand they made it not interruptable.

On the other hand, they drastically reduced its defiance damage bonus.

    Was 39.6 for 14.5 seconds

    NOW 6.6 for 5 seconds

You get more defiance from throwing down caltrops. (7.1)

This is a tier 9 power? and I get 6.6 bonus from it?

Does anyone know what the defiance bonus you get from sparky? How does this compare?
(EDIT: Its 20.5 for 10.6 seconds, over 3 times better than Gun Drone)
  9. I updated the test server with the upcoming beta release, but cannot log in. Am I alone? Do I need to do anything differently? Or is it off for everyone?

Will the test server not be accessible until the live servers go to Freedom?

    New Patch (9/8)

No public access is what I'm seeing also.

  12. I could log on to Guardian just fine 5 minutes ago, but still can't get onto freedom.

Earlier in the day, when the servers first crashed, I was on Freedom in the Icon at Indy Port. I wonder if that character is now corrupted? I was in the middle of a complete costume change. I got the costume completed then when it went back to normal screen, I saw the mapserver message.

  15. I don't care if the damage is typed or untyped. If too many players die running something, it gets labeled "unfun" and will not be run. The devs know this.

BaF's and Lambdas get run ad naseum because the level of death in them is not "too high". It's just right. ITF's used to be just right but are becoming too easy.

Keyes never gets run because people die too fast and its not fun. I know its not fun, because I never get asked to join one. I've never even been on one, and I know it stinks. On Victory, no one plays Keyes. Its probably the same on other servers.

How do the developers deal with that? Thats the real question we need answered.

Do you think they like developing content no one plays? What will they do to get people to play it more? Make it so only tankers and scrappers and brutes can play it? I don't think so. Make it so only Tier 4's across the board can play it? Boy, I hope not. Then we will be playing WoW and we just won't know it.

    They just stand there.

The brawler, uses his fists, so it works on him all the time.
The louies, they usually have their guns out, sometimes they never put the gun away. Or sometimes one puts his away and the other doesn't, it's weird.

I am 95% of the time in bodyguard mode. Maybe that has something to do with it.
  17. I just tried the FP macro (/macro FP petsay_all < em facepalm >) on my thugs. It worked as long as they weren't holding their guns.

IMO this is something that you really need to experience first hand (or have DA experience) to understand how much it will affect your playstyle.

Ice Armor due to its significantly lower defense numbers relies on chilling embrace for protection, yet chilling embrace interferes with your ability to placate and raise your burst damage. its an interesting trade off for sure.

(People also forget that while leveing the Ice Armor stalker ranged attacks are a much bigger threat due to the lower defense numbers)
Also people forget that Ice armor is typed defense, not positional.

    X/Ice armor

I made a spines/ice stalker to test out the new content. I lvled him up to 7. Then he got bumped to 20 and is now 23.

Chilling Embrace is not the aggro magnet you'd think it is. I was fighting with an Empathy/Beam Gun defender who shed some aggro from me easily after the Alpha with his attacks.

I find myself toggling CE off to placate -> AS. Placate is kinda silly with it on.

It suppressed on its own while in hide. So it can be cued up before engaging the next spawn.

Ice Armor will make a decent Stalker set. Not sure how much heal you need to add to hoarfrost though. Im using it at just 3 recharges. From my experience as a lvl 50 Ice tank, HF was definitely a 6 slot power. On a stalker the hp cap may make more than 4 slots unneeded.
  20. I suggest that you be a Fire Armor/War Mace tank. Paired with his Dark Armor, you'll both be resistance based, but you'll be strong against Fire damage and he'll be strong against NE and Psy. You will have a ton of AoE.

When did this change? It used to be Tech/Sci and Natural get the bonus from the staff, and Magic/Mutant the wand. I didn't know natural gets the bonus from both. What happens when you get the second vet power choice(guessing around 66 months) as a natural and can take both the wand AND the staff, do they get bonus for both?
  22. I'm DM/DA. I just scrap it out with Oppressive Gloom running, and timely heals from Dark Consumption and Siphon Life. I run at +3x5, mostly. Before I was a level shifted incarnate, I ran at +1x3.
  23. I will only add this.

My most successful blasters utilize some form of stealth (or invisibility, if possible) to get a "leg-up" on the enemy by maximizing my ability to hit all the foes I need to hit as fast as possible, and by being able to Aim + BU before they even know Im there.

Blaster are not tank mages, in this game, at least not until incarnate level.

You can't just run in and start shooting. The mobs don't stand there in a line waiting for you to kill them.
