  1. A bit of confusion here. The City of Villains Collector's Edition was not a Preorder product to the best of my knowledge.

The City of Villains Collector's Edition did include the Arachnos Symbol.

Activate/Upgrade account with a CoV Collector's Edition retail code.

But per ParagonWiki: The 30 Month Veteran Reward also unlocks an Arachnos chest symbol, but it was changed in appearance to not match the paid-for bonus.

The COV Collector's Edition Cape was only available in the Collector's Edition. It has not been made available via any other source at this time. There is a cape available as part of the Arachnos Soldier, but I don't remember if it is different from the Collector's Edition Cape, but I think it is.

The only Villain Preorder costume pieces are the Helmets which are part of a Veteran's Reward now.

    Checking Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/City-Villains-...9620494&sr=8-1

You can buy it for $9.99 brand new. Since I plan to start a second account, I plan to jump on this deal!

    Nothing to do?

I watch movies or *gasp* read!
  3. The Forums have gone to the Americas!
  4. Confirmed. Snaptooth is bugged. I was the mission holder. We tried this a couple of weeks ago.

Reported to GM and GM confirmed to me that it is a known bug.

Team was reporting that Snaptooth still showed as enemy with the red target corners on him, but I showed him having blue target corners like he was an ally. He wouldn't attack anything and we couldn't attack him.

GM autocompleted mission for us and I was the only one who received a reward screen.

Team also found out that Exit button was disabled and had to employ alternate means of leaving, from being defeated by a mob and going to hospital, using Ouroboros portal or going back to the mission entrance.
  5. I got a good laugh the other day on a radio mission against Lost. I am in the end room of a sewer with all that green....liquid....that we slosh through and approached a Headman Blaster standing by himself. Suddenly two Scroungers burst up from under the surface to attack me. I was half expecting it, but it still startled me. Then I had a question run through my head as to what they were doing under the surface, since they couldn't be sleeping, they would drown. Then I thought....ewwww....I don't want to consider what they might be doing down there.

    In-game Email

The spam button does work. If you log in and see you have email, check it. If the sender name is has the name "empty" instead of a name, that account has been banned by the mods as one reported several times for sending spam email. On the empty accounts, just click delete. On the emails that have an actual name that you want to report, click on Spam and it will send a spam notice to the mods and will add that name to your global ignore list.

If your Global Ignore list is full, it will delete the older name in the list in favor of the new name just added. Usually, this is not a problem if all you have are Email RMT spammers in your Global Ignore list. But if you have other players in that list as well, they may eventually get bumped off the Global Ignore list as well and if they are really nasty, they end up bugging you again.
  7. AE Baby was born Friday morning and by Sunday afternoon, he was a brand-spanking new Baby 50. Then I took him on the cape mission so he could have his Bedsheet Cape!
  8. Nice catch!

This would probably be better placed in City Life - CoH & CoV General Discussions under the For Fun! section.

    AE Missions

I may be wrong with some of my answers, but this seems to be the way it works based on previous missions and especially missions done this weekend.

If a teammate is below minimum level of AE mission they will be auto-sidekicked to at least minimum level of mission. This is why level 50+ boss farms are so popular, all characters will raised to level 50.

If an AE mission level range runs from say, level 15 - 40 and all teammates are within that range, they will remain at that level, but mission will set for same level as highest level teammate or same level as team leader (not sure which yet). If you are more than 3 or 5 (forgetful now) levels above or below mission level, you won't get XP.

Edit: Just like the rest of the game, most of the content is soloable, but your results will vary. Tankers and Healers aren't required and there is more support available besides healing. Any member of any AT brings a unique and usable set of skills to make the missions easier. The more varied you team is, the easier it is to work as a team (usually, again, YMMV).
  10. AE Baby was born Friday morning and adopted into a supergroup. Had several babysitters for the next 3 days and reached level 50 by Sunday afternoon. Then he went and got his bedsheet cape. So, level 1 to 50 in three days, no doorsitting at all. Even at level 2 (did the tutorial), he was active in the team, doing what little he could.

I don't like farming the same map/mission over and over again so quickly. It is very tiresome and I get a little bored with it. The only thing that made it worth it was the new friendships formed. By the end of the weekend, I was very exhausted and just read or watched movies.

I only did this to see if I could do it. Now that I have, I can move on back to regular content. I did learn some stuff about AE I didn't know about and will investigate that with other, lower level toons/teams.
  11. Oddly enough, I have been invited to teams more often when I don't have my LFT flag up than when I don't, it even happened this weekend when I was checking out a toon that had been parked awhile and was going to work on his enhancements/sets.

Not necessarily, you get the badge for keeping and active account from August 15(did I remember that date right?) until November 15. You don't get the badge for doing the GR Beta.

Sorry, same stuff has been hashed over and over in a multitude of threads. Insulted? Not a bit. For the most part, we don't see the game the same way, but hey, I am responsible for what I enjoy. If you aren't happy with the game, sorry to hear that, but me, I am having a blast.

I appreciate all the hard work that the Dev's have put into and are putting into this game.

No, I don't have blinders on, but I won't let any issues with the game prevent me from enjoying the game, because I do enjoy playing it. If I was as upset as you seem to be with the game, I wouldn't even continue playing the game.
  16. I believe there may be one other alternative method, but it involves having a second account. You should be able to use a toon from a second account to invite your alts from your first account to a SG.
  17. I was very bored while the forum was down. I spend most of my forum time while at work during downtime when business is slow.
  18. Yes, it is. My new toon, AE Baby, created just for this week, went from level 1 to level 20 within one boss farm and we didn't even complete the mission. What's funny is none of the original teammates stayed on the team. Everyone until I was left with the star. Other members were invited as we moved along down the street.

I don't normally farm as I like to participate in the regular content with the temp powers and badges and other fun stuff, but I just thought I would see if I could get a toon to level 50 in just one weekend for Double XP using only AE. Hence the name, AE Baby. Kinda poking my tongue out at farmers.

Look for me on Champion Server in Atlas Park.
  19. Woot, I have missed the forums, gives me something to do at work when business slows down.
  20. Got another story.

Logged into Atlas Park and saw a broadcast on a global channel for LGTF, figured why not. Got on the team. Since team was still building, I broadcast about the TF in Atlas Park before zoning to RWZ

One tell I got was someone asking what a TF was and so forth, as I explain it and state that must be level 45 to join, he states he is a level 15 tank and asks if I can SK him and "he'll try real hard".

I have to keep telling him that it's not a matter of sidekicking him but that he has to be at level 45 for the task force to start. I then suggest if he wants to get on a task force to go to Steel to do Positron TF or go to Kings Row and get a radio. He finally said no, he was going to team with a friend and do AE.

I just shook my head and went on to play a great LGTF. Throughout the TF, we were commenting on how AE has done some bad things to the game and how happy we were with people playing the regular game.

For example, we ran a Posi TF yesterday. About 30 min into the TF, 3rd mission, one of the members said "how long will this take?" I replied, we're on #4 of 16, so maybe 90min or so depending on the group. He replies, thats too long, i'm outta here....BAM drops group...30 seconds later, the healer says yeah this is really boring, not like the real game....

Unfortunately, Posi is a horrible, horrible, grotesquely dull grindfest that takes forever. I'd be more concerned if people were taking that attitude towards, say, the Ernesto Hess TF, with its cool robot factory and giant robot fight and whatnot. I don't know if people actually run Posi to have fun, and I wonder how many would ever do it if it didn't have a badge and merits associated with it.

But I do like to run Posi for fun...
  22. With my owning a Dell Dimension 3000, I hope I can provide some helpful advice on the Dell Dimension 4600 that you have. Mind you, I am coming at this with the assumption that the higher number of your computer over mine will mean that it is just a little bit better than what I started with.

I had started with 256mb memory and upgraded to 2gb memory. I only had the Intel Integrated Graphics to play COH and I could play it. I was at the bare minimum of graphics to play the game.

Recently, I added a GeForce FX 5200 GPU and the effect was amazing. I agree with other posts about checking to see if you have a bad modem, but upgrading the RAM and GPU will extend the usefulness of that old Dell just a little bit before you buy a new computer.

It could make the difference between buying a so-so computer now with what you can afford or buying a better computer later with time you can used to save for the better computer.

One other thing you can do is use the Service Tag number on the side of computer and register at Dell with that Service Tag and then see what upgrade parts Dell can recommend. In most cases, you can use their recommended options to buy replacement parts cheaper at Newegg.
