Quote:Except Guild Wars 2, and Wildstar*, and Blade and Soul, and Aion, and whatever their next Lineage re-skin is...Only thing I can think of is that "refocusing" = "getting out of the NA/EU market (except for GW2) (for now)". So who cares what a few thousand soon-to-be-ex-customers think? They weren't going to be trying to sell anything to us again anyway.
*Anyone still think this game's gonna release at all, now? Or get any post-release support from NC?

The won't want to announce a sale until the sale is done, and I would bet that they want to sell to the highest bidder. People in the industry know that CoH is really up for sale right now. Whether its the whole IP or just a license to continue the existing versions.
Oh, wait... -
Quote:If it helps, Jack is busy working on/ruining Neverwinter now. And Bill apparently doesn't work at Cryptic anymore.Well Co did have bad Designer working on Didn't The Dev Statesman work on it and that Bill Roper guy, Who Ruin Hell Gate London on you guys.
Unfortunately, looking at the massive list of unfixed bugs, no one else at Cryptic seems to be working on CO... -

Quote:Edit: I've also sent Tim Buckley at Ctrl-Alt-Del an email, as he has not responded on twitter (unsurprisingly, as he has a ton of followers).Quote:Nerf Now's latest comic was superhero related, but not about City of Heroes, so I took the opportunity to place in the comments this message:
I hope I'll be proven wrong, but they're likely not even going to mention CoH shutting down. -
Quote:Don't worry! Under the current system, you get to keep your special snowflake names and everything else for the rest of the game's life!REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF SERVERS
You can't have my names.
You can't have my character slots. Merging any servers would put me over the limit of 48 per server.
You can't delete my characters. Where are my characters going to go when the number of available slots on an account is less than the number of characters I had before the merge.
You can't break up my server communities.
You can't disband my SG's.
You can't delete my bases.
All three months of it! -
Quote:Not a whole lot. Bioware still stands by the worst parts of the ending (Starchild/Catalyst), and the fans now look to the rest of the world like over-entitled, whining manchildren.Look at HOLD THE LINE and the other Mass Effect 3 protests and what THEY accomplished!
And the new ending is still terrible.
NCSoft is going to ignore us like they ignored Tabula Rasa's fans. I heard many of the same things when it was shutting down. -
Auto Assault, Tabula Rasa, Dungeon Runners, Exsteel, and now City of Heroes*, if I were an uninvolved third party, I'd be pretty cautious about buying any NCSoft game. Shutting down this many games does not speak well of NCSoft's financial stability, or their commitment to their customers and games.
Has any other major MMO company shut down that many games?
*Was that all of them? I think I missed one... -
CO (If they fix most of the bugs), STO (Ditto), DCUO (If my install ever finishes updating), maybe Secret World.
Was going to play GW2 (and Wildstar when it came out), but after this news NCSoft is dead to me.
(TOR, Tera, WoW, D3, L1/2/E, and Aion are on my "Will Never Play, Ever" list.) -

It's been a few days and I still can't access the Paragon Market. I'm getting the same error message every time I try to access the store:
"500 INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR We've just encountered an error. Sigh. Please try again and let us know if you continue to face technical difficulties. /web-store/ncsf/app/shop.jsp tomcat76.mof.playspan.net"
Is there anything I can do to fix this? -

Everytime I try to access the Paragon Market from in-game, the browser window for the market returns a "500 INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR /web-store/ncsf/app/shop.jsp tomcat73.mof.playspan.net" error message. The "Support" and "My Account" buttons on the browser still function, I just can't access the store.
I don't use a custom hosts file, and tried renaming the hosts file but no luck. I've also tried the Repair option in the NCsoft launcher.
Has anyone else gotten an error like this? And if so, how do I fix it?

Welcome new players, and good luck naming your character, all the good names are taken.

2.5 gigs?
So much for the headstart. With my connection, I'll be done downloading next month. -
29 - Tachikoma - Ghost In the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
52 - Thundercleese
I don't know where he first appeared, but I remember him from The Brak Show
109 - Asimov from Mr. Robot
Indie RPG/Puzzle game by Moonpod Games
I think 69 is that robot from Atomic Betty, but I can't remember his name.
Also, 84 is Atlas, P-Body is the tall, orange one. -
Who says we're doing "good" things? Everyone knows Arachnos's science division could use some new "test subjects." Besides, it's not like anyone's going to miss those fishermen.
-
The worst part about that, to me, is that I just got the pun in the island's name. Despite The Incredibles being one of my favorite movies.
-
Well, I'm pretty sure most people think of Arachnos Widow characters as mostly female.
-
Hero APPs are not available to VEATs. You only have access to Patron power pools.
Supposedly this is to balance out Kelds not being able to pick any epic power pool, either. -
Yes, PLEASE, yes.
Either just make more of the mace/claw/rifle options available or just add some Vanguard/Rularuu/etc options for existing VEAT weapons.
(Besides, the Widow claw shooting darts at all already makes no sense.) -
Have yet to.
I only have two L50s: an Ill/TA Controller that I can't decide a build for, and a Fire/Dark Brute. Neither of them have even completed the Incarnate arc (The controller has beaten Trapdoor's mission, though).
Despite the Incarnate content, I can't seem to be able to make myself continue playing my max-level characters... -
Quote:Technically, everybody, rebel scum or loyalist stormtrooper, at L20 becomes a flunky of Arachnos or Longbow, both of whom use the Resistance for their own (mostly selfish) reasons.Everything the Resistance says about the dictatorship is backed up with proof - which is why the game puts all the players on their side at level 20
Quote:Although as a stormtrooper, your attitude is understandable - just like in RL, supporters of a dictatorship will frequently deny that the crimes against humanity the dictatorship carried out ever actually happened.
(Although, I'll still side with the Resistance. I'm just honest about the reasons: Handing Praetoria over to Lord Recluse.) -
Plus it's Blizzard. They'll likely include some kind of bonus item for their "other" game, thus ensuring massive sales.

It's a pretty funny coincidence, my Bane Spider (Operative Cerberus) is based off my Fire/Dark Brute (Loque Cerberus), before I created OC, I created a "heroic" version of him that was a Fire/Shield Scrapper.
When I ran this arc for the first time as Operative Cerberus, his flawed clone was also Fire Melee and Shield Defence. He also managed to tank Ajax for the entire mission.
