  1. Whew! And I thought it was my pc playing up again.

    Slow Hand Clap

    It does seem as if there's been an increase in jerks turning up in Atlas.
    Last night was the second time in as many weeks that DJ Angel was forced off her traditional spot on the Atlas plaque during her set on Evo Radio. Why is it that people feel they have to behave like that? What conceivable use is such spiteful behaviour?

    On seeing the thread title I prayed that no-one would stoop to such a tragic level of humour.

    Why scrap?

    Sure scrappers need alot of attention to play, you're having to get up close and personal with them's that would wish you a whole lotta hurtin'. But I've never thought of scrappers as unplayable. Indeed Scrappers are one of, if not the most, versatile and independent ATs it the game.

    It's hardly a button pushing frenzy either, I find even fighting against large mobs can be managed at quite an easy pace if you think before you leap. The only time I've had to panic push of late was fighting a carnival sapper I'd never faced before. Even then it was just a matter of spamming a couple of blue inspirations.

    What sorts of scrappers have you played and to what level?
    It's a bit confusing that you find them "unplayable".

    yeah! and let someone else actually do the main bulk of the damage

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Point! Always leave tanking to the pro's. Our (scrappers') job is to "pacify" foes with extreme prejudice (and, on occasion, a 4ft razorblade).

    Not enough slots in slots in DP and Recon, both need 3/3 rech/heal, take the slots out of FH for start.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    :P Knew that one do have a regen stalker was trying to slot so I also had DMG. Getting health at 30 to help with regen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Not a bad build so far. Dull pain does need the extra recharge slots but you still have plenty of levels to make that up in. Health does help towards the regen rate but it's not a must to add slots too.

    Katana=Highest survivability, cheap and fast attacks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yep, you can double up parry effects until the cows come home.
    Katana's a nicely balanced set, even if it's animations make me cringe at times.
  8. You could consider Assault for a nice damage buff, although it might not be worth it by level 44.
    Teleport foe might be handy for selective "pulling" and rescue work in teams.
  9. Now that looks like a very sturdy build!
    Hasten seems a bit late but with the recharge slotting in your attacks you should be ok.
    I'm not that keen on TP, it can be a nightmare in hazard zones and can leave you drained after long journeys.
    You might want to put a second End Red in FA just to be on the safe side (I notice you didn't put one in Integration and that might tip the balance).
  10. [ QUOTE ]
    Look at it this way you can either get stamina or slot at least 2 Endred in powers...I personally would rather slot recharges and plant stuff faster but thats just me...

    I got to level 34 without stamina, then I respeced it in and wondered how I managed without it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Bravo! Pure common sense. I got Stamina at Lvl 35 and I miss it whenever I exemplar down below 35. After facing Malta Sappers and Carnival bosses for the first time I've come to think of it as essential.
  11. MoG? Well Paragon Protectors are downright infuriating when they use it. I'm not sure if it works the same for us though. Personally I don't like the idea of MoG but it makes a good panic button by most accounts. (Hehe, not exactly good advice )

    Swap out Stealth for Divine Avalance like Solaris suggested. Katana allows you to chain it quite nicely and it provides a great defence buff when stacked.

    [ QUOTE ]
    respec into quick recovary and revive and get rid of stanima and fitness you wont need them

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Rofl!
    He has Quick RecovEry already. Revive is a complete waste of a power choice at this stage. If Tough and Focussed Accuracy are going to be added to the build then respecing out StaMiNa would be just daft as Quick Recovery doesn't provide enough endurance to cope with the drain.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
    ... so I'm prepared when Integration becomes a clicky.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    What and deprive us of regen's only end sapping toggle?!?!

    In answer to the OP Regen is good (but I would say that having a regen scrapper as my main).
    Super Reflexes is good although I'm not sure how it will turn out with all the talk about apparent changes to defence that I7 is bring.

    Invulnerability might be worth considering. I haven't tried it myself and nobody seems to have mentioned it yet.
  13. I have something like this. It seems to keep my earliest toon at the top and the rest are in level order of strongest to weakest.
  14. Hmm, this build looks as though it's been slotted for a finished article level 50.

    Hot_Head got it spot on with the slotting advice. I can't add much on that front other than saying that you don't need, or for that matter want, knockback enhancements in Head Splitter.
    Revive can be ditched it's just not worth wasting a powerslot on. The same pretty much goes for Resilience as you don't have Toughness.
    Get Parry, it can save your life when slotted properly.
    Don't bother with Vengeance unless you're planning to do alot of pvp grouping. If your expecting to solo lots (something a BS/Regen can do excellently) then Vengeance is completely pointless to have.
    MoG, well I guess it has its uses (terrifying Empathy defenders being one of them).
  15. You'll want to fit Instant healing in somewhere and Build Up is a bit late at 28.
  16. Knight_Errant

    Katana FTW!

    [ QUOTE ]
    Katana was one of the best choices with regen in I3 to I5 till the drop ED on us and now this thing is no good anymore tbh.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh Katana is still a decent primary. Its damage is good, the animation and recharge rates are quick. Sure ED stopped the 4 or 5 slotting of damage SOs but that happened to everyone. It hasn't been affected anymore than Broadsword. Infact Katana scrappers may be able to save on slots because where Broadsword'ers will be slotting recharges, those with Katana won't need to because they already have a pretty good recharge speed.
  17. Knight_Errant

    PvE, MA or BS?

    Simple, overall damage. Broadsword just hits harder. It isn't a pretty, but looks isn't why people choose Broadsword.
  18. Knight_Errant

    Katana FTW!

    Style?!
    Are you here to dance or fight?
    A Champion Swiper won't care a jot about how stylish your moves are when he's trying to tear you arm off and hit you with the soggy end.

    No my friend, that argument doesn't hold water. Besides if you want a "stylish" primary then Martial Arts would be a better choice. It has style in spades and is more useful than katana too.
  19. Knight_Errant

    Katana FTW!

    Katana is pretty, it looks pretty, it sounds pretty and it's nice to have if your secondary set is a bit End hungry.

    However: Flashy moves and pretty weapons are no match for a good Broadsword by your side, kid.
  20. Knight_Errant

    BS/Regen build.

    That's a bit better, Quick Recovery at 20 is a bit late.
    Try this tweaked level selection:
    01) --> Hack
    01) --> Fast Healing
    02) --> Slice
    04) --> Reconstruction
    06) --> Build Up
    08) --> Quick Recovery
    10) --> Combat Jumping
    12) --> Parry
    14) --> Super Jump
    16) --> Integration
    18) --> Hasten
    20) --> Dull Pain
    22) --> Swift
    24) --> Health
    26) --> Disembowel
    28) --> Instant Healing
    30) --> Stamina
    32) --> Head Splitter
    35) --> Assault
    38) --> Moment of Glory (if you must have it)
    41) --> Focused Accuracy
    44) --> Laser Beam Eyes
    47) --> Energy Torrent
    49) --> Tactics, Conserve Power, etc

    I've added in a couple of leadership powers to the mix to bring up the balance. Assault is handy for boosting damage while Tactics could be replaced with Conserve Power or any other loose power you fancy carrying.
    It's slim on attacks but that's what you get for picking a travel type that doesn't include an attack as a prerequisite (switch to flight and you can add Air Superiority at 10 which is a smashing knockdown attack).
  21. Knight_Errant

    BS/Regen build.

    First of all Stamina is way too early, you won't need it until the late 30s in preperation for Focused Accuracy.
    You'll want Build Up far earlier, by 10 at the latest and leaving Dull pain until 28 will be something you'll regret as some really heavy hitting minions appear in the mid 20s (as I found out just in time).
    Drop Resilience, isn't worth having really, on its own it doesn't give any significant protection and you'll need to shell out on Tough to really make it worth anything. You'll want Instant healing long before 49.

    I'd think hard before getting MoG it's very situational. Personally I don't think the defence buff outweighs the hitpoint loss or temporary inability to heal.

    For a Broadsword attack. Whirling Sword does naff damage even with the minor dot, it's useful if your monkey farming but you don't really need it, Slice workes much better. I admit I still have it in my build, but that's because I haven't done any respec TFs and I like having lots of attacks available (even slash has its uses).

    Finally Revive, I hate this "power". Personally I think anyone taking this power isn't thinking right, you shouldn't expect to die, and if you stay aware of your surroundings and plan your attack well you won't die.
  22. Knight_Errant

    BS/Regen

    [ QUOTE ]

    DP at 24?

    Eep. DP is by far your best regen power until 16, when my fave Int comes along.

    A combo of Recon, DP & Int should see you through until 28 where you should pick up IH - leaving it any later than it's first appearance is risky imo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I found that I didn't need DP until the mid 20s in fact if it wasn't for the gleaming recommendations of a friend I would have left it later. (Which would have been a mistake.)
    I managed to solo Heracles without DP so I consider it more of a luxury than an essential before then.
  23. Knight_Errant

    Stalkers...

    I'm not sure if this can be done at all but it seems an iteresting idea.

    For a primary Broadsword (raw damage) or Martial arts (for keeping prey off balance) would be the primaries I'd suggest. Secondaries are a matter of taste although I suspect (and I may be wrong here) that the semi-stealth aspect of Dark Armour might be hobbled by all those black particle effects.

    Let's face it every AT is a specialist and Stealth is part of a Stalker's speciality, you may get close but not without outside help like the Ill/* you suggested.

    Headsplitter on a critical might get near to AS on a good day but then again headsplitter isn't situational.

    You'll generally have more durability than a stalker and criticals are something that can happen with any of your attacks (note the conditional "can").

    It's all Swings and roundabouts.

    It may be that pvp villains are wiseacre enough to look for a concealed scrapper (sounds like something you get frisked for), if not then you'll be a really nasty suprise to all those squishy none brutes.
  24. Knight_Errant

    PvE, MA or BS?

    For the arrest with speed and extreme prejudice, it's gotta be Broadsword. For all those times you want to mash that boss before the minions get a chance to start on you.

    Martial Arts is ok if you want to make opponents wander around like freshly dug up members of the Banished Pantheon. Broadsword is big, deliberate and beautiful when you take almost half the hitpoints off a boss with that first buildup > headsplitter.

    ::Brag Begins:: I soloed Terra on Monday night with my Broadsword/Regen Steampunkette. One hell of a close fight but the big orange numbers pulled me through. ::Brag Ends::
