You should go to one of the co-op zones (which varies by server, on Freedom it's Pocket D) to find people forming up for them, that seems to be the more popular option now.

Also, it's fairly easy for any team to finish the raid in about 30 minutes... a few nights ago, I was on a team that did the BAF in about 18 minutes (we had to beat the clock, as we had a server reset notice in 30 minutes while we were about to start trying to reform after a glitch). Most of the sections of the raids are also timed, so they're not going to go crazy long anyways.
  3. By any chance, are you running WindowBlinds? If so, add an exception for cityofheroes.exe.

History has shown us that the vast majority of people that believe this, can't.

Do you ever browse the internet? Sure, you might keep your web browser up to date, only visit more trusted websites like these forums, keep your plugins current, and hell, you might even use things like NoScript... you're safe, right? No. Websites constantly serve thirdparty data all the time (how many images to other sites get posted on these boards everyday? how many are in this post? hint: 10 *), browsers will always have zero days.

The advantages of running as a limited account and such, are that when (not if, but when) something breaks through, you have another line of defense to it completely and totally taking control of your system, possibly well enough that you will never know).

Might be this... but they tend to just be a bit on the slow and unreliable side anyways.

It will supposedly cap after 4 hits but it doesn't do it like normal procs...it will do it after EVERY damage tick.
That's certainly not WAI, right? I'd imagine that'd make a patch power like Caltrops with Reactive basically a nuke!
  7. Interface, to me, seems like by far the weakest of all the Incarnate powers- none of the debuffs are really all that great, which is why I opted for Reactive's extra damage.

The other Incarnate abilities, though, are all extremely good. Alpha can totally redefine any build single handedly. Judgement lets you basically say to an entire spawn 'stfu', Lore gives you some damn good pets that'll make a MM a little jealous... and Destiny can make any random group feel like a bunch of /Regen Scrappers running Moment of Glory and Shadow Meld.

Specifically this: UAC and VirtualStore don't care about any folders that are not important "Windows" folders (like %PROGRAMFILES% and %SYSTEMROOT%) so it doesn't mess with or interfere with the data in them.

No, those programs were already broken for anyone that ran as a Limited Users in XP. The proper and recommended way was to store the data in %APPDATA% & %LOCALAPPDATA%, which exists inside each user's home directory.

This is the method that every other Operating System has been doing it for quite a long time. Windows application developers should have known for quite a long time to stop writing in their installation directory (most got the clue a long time ago).
  9. IIRC, they aren't supposed to be (hopefully: just for now).
  10. IIRC, Interface procs don't show up in the chat log (with the possible exception of the Reactive bonus damage).

There should be some sort of extra aura left on the target while the proc is active on them (although I haven't seen it with Reactive... but that's likely due to it looking like a flame from what I've heard, and I've only got it on a Fire Controller ). Also, even at full -regen, the effects are going to be largely useless on anything without a massive amount of HP- but those also tend to resist -regen effects more than lower tier enemies.

    Level 52 or 53?

Damn kids and their canal-feed irrigation systems! Back in my day, we used to walk over ONE HUNDRED MILES up hill to the river, and fill up our 32oz buckets with water (while fighting the man-eating aligators), then, we'd walk back ANOTHER one hundred miles, still up hill to our crops! We'd then tacticfully use an eye dropper to specifically position each drop of water for maximum effect!

And we liked it! Damn spoiled kids...

The term 'lazy' generally carries a negative connotation.

You can thank laziness for every single advancement humanity has made (and, conversely, you can thank not lazy enough for every single conflict in human history ).

Installing programs to a folder outside of %PROGRAMFILES% seems to cause much less hassle in the long run. Of course there's a larger security risk because UAC and VirtualStore aren't "protecting" them anymore but to me it's worth it.
That's quite incorrect (the basis for your conclusions, that is).

The reason there is no 'VirtualStore' for C:\Games is because when you create that folder you have write permissions to it, which gets inherited by folders created inside of it. Without that write permissions, you'd either get a VirtualStore or it would simply fail. VirtualStore was a fix for misbehaving applications (CoH, and the old updater, being prime examples of exhibiting bad practices).
  15. Judgement, Destiny, and Lore are customizable. Interface is not.
  16. It's doubtful these issues are related to the hardware being too slow, but, more likely than not, the massive amount of code changes that just went live... aka Issue 20.

Every issue brings a period of instability to the game, which is fixed over time, then people forget about it, then the next issue happens, and people will freak out, thinking it's a sign of the end times.

I guess it's not that big of a deal, but it annoys me that it looks like it should be a simple text file, and replacing it isn't working. I can't figure out where the new ratings are coming from, it's like it can't read the file I copied in there, or it's ignoring it for some reason...
Make sure that file isn't being overriden by a file in your account's "VirtualStore", which is in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore, and then under that path as if you were looking at the root of the C drive.

Data is written to the VirtualStore, when a non-elevated program attempts to write to directories it doesn't have access to, and is running under UAC emulation.
  18. From cmdlist:
    Quote:
league_invite Invite player to join league.
li Invite player to join league.
Interestingly enough, trying to use either command in-game results in an 'unknown command' error (if without any parameters, instead of giving a syntax error). Although, giving it a single parameter will try to invite that person if they exist (or giving the same error that invite would).
  19. Pretty much all damage resistance debuff powers in the game are unenhanceable, and Cardiac Alpha only lists Damage Resistance, not 'Damage Resistance Debuff' anyways.
  20. IIRC, it's /li ('League Invite').

Related question: can the font size be changed independently?
Yes, on the general (first) tab of options, somewhat lower down on the list.

Also, you can scale the UI size of all the windows independently, so you could scale your chat windows down, boost chat font size, and not have all the other issues that come with UI scaling (like the global list's scrollbar becoming totally broken).

    Seer Seeker

Just for future reference, if you right click on one of the Incarnate powers on the tree, it'll bring up the Real Numbers window for the associated power.

It would be interesting to know what the deal with that is, though... perhaps it was just a straight port from the NPC versions, and an oversight on the Dev's part?
  23. First off, bookmark ParagonWiki, it has a massive amount of information about the game.

A large chunk of Going Rogue is Praetoria, which you would need to roll a new character and select the Praetorian alignment (instead of Hero or Villain). In Praetoria, there's a number of different paths through the story you can take, so you could run multiple characters through those zones without seeing it all.

You might wanna just go to ParagonWiki's Issue articles and read about the ones you missed, that'll be a good summary of what's changed... Also, we got Power Customization... go to the tailer and check it out
  24. Please post a CoH Helper and HiJack This log. Those two will give a fair bit of diagnostic information about your system, greatly simplify this process.
