I'll third the reading problems. I've switched to doing most of my forum browsing in Lynx (a text-only browser that ignores most formatting) to avoid the problem.

If so, you would be correct, but it works like this: You will ALWAYS gain in total enhancement when slotting a full set of something over SOs of the same level.

But, you will occasionally lose out in a specific aspect of enhancement. Example: Obliteration gives you 66.25% Accuracy, 96.30% Damage, and a whopping 89.93% recharge enhancement, but the cost of the damage and recharge enhancement being slightly higher is that the set only provides 18.55% end reduction. Still an overall advantage in total enhancement, but you lose some end reduction to gain more recharge.
The big one here is Kinetic Combat. It's a good thing that the important bonuses come from four-slotting it, because it only gives 22.94% accuracy.

If you get enough Defense or Resistance or -ToHit or Healing or Regen to survive the attacks, which are easy to survive... then it's just a matter of focusing firepower on taking them out one at a time. Especially since you're Dark Miasma... if you keep them tightly grouped, they're gonna miss a lot. Team Insps can help with that, but many MM builds have ways of doing that without needing them.
Three at once is a bit of a challenge. My bots/traps can usually hold the attention of two of them, but if I tried to take on a third, there's a good chance that one of them would get free and start attacking my pets.

Am I or is this server lucky? Is it because its VIP or a smaller population?
I've never gotten a purple recipe while playing on Exalted.

If I were running a tip mission for maximum speed, I'd be running it at -1/x1/no bosses, and I wouldn't even bother summoning pets: Trip Mine can take care of anything I need to defeat, and I don't need pets out to click on a glowie.

They bubble me last. I'd rather soak an alpha at 45% defense than at 33%.

For some pets, maybe. For Bots/Traps, I just timed it at 87 seconds from first summon to when the Protector Bots finished bubbling everyone.

Kinetics is a very 'active' set. That means you're ultimately going to spend an enormous amount of time doing Kinetics powers... and have very little time for any other powers.

What that means is that as you level, you'll be laying in those -resistance debuffs for Sonic less and less. Moreover, the generally poor damage/animation of the set will become more and more of a problem because you have so little animation time to use in the first place.
Kinetics is far less active than it used to be, since Speed Boost and Increase Density were turned into AoEs. Prior to the change, I'd estimate that I spent half my time using Kinetics powers; now, with the exception of AV fights, I think it's closer to 20%. Against AVs, the massive amount of single-target debuffage you can put out with Siphon Speed and Siphon Power makes focusing on the Kinetics side of things worthwhile.

The Mastermind pet AI is a hugely complicated mess, and is not the same code as that for the uncontrollable Controller pets. If they make that change to keep Mercenaries at range, they risk it leaking over and keeping Ninjas or the Thugs Bruiser at range as well.

Whatever you've done, it sounds like the script is no longer passing the "-renderthread 0" option. That's exactly where CoH hangs if you need it and don't provide it.

As we gather to begin the TF we discover that we now have 4 (14 level) blasters that all had the same idea. So the four of us, with minimal powers, and not one person on any sort of character that can even think about controlling aggro, debuffing, buffing or healing are supposed to face off against COT, Vahzilok and Clockwork... or to put it another way against one villain group that resists damage and is a major PITA at that level (COT), a second that has a ton of toxic damage which even higher level character have limited resistance to (VAHZ) and a third that can fire off holds leaving most if not all of the team helpless while they tear us to shreds (Clockwork).
The minimum for Positron 1 is three, not four, and minimum-sized Posi is much easier than on a team of eight because you don't encounter bosses. That means no Ruin Mages, no Eidolons, no Clockwork Princes. The only point at which a small team is likely to have trouble is the fight against your duplicates, and there, a support-heavy team will have much more trouble than your hypothetical four blasters.

Except for Sutter, all the low-level task forces are like this. Having a full-sized team with a good mix of character types is nice, but it's far from essential.

    Two things about the illusionists:
    1) When a Master Illusionist summons three Illusionists, you'll get defeat credit if you simply damage them before they despawn -- you don't need to defeat them.
    2) If you've got a good book and a way to drop aggro (I did this on a Stalker), you can farm a single Master Illusionist for the badge: her summon powers are on a (IIRC) four-minute recharge, so 20 brief periods of fighting over two and a half hours will get you the badge.

If you can wait, the best way to get the badge for the masks is to wait for Issue 22 to come out. Masks are much easier to find and defeat in the new Dark Astoria.

The endurance drain from electric *melee* may be useless, but electric *armor* is a different story. I've got a katana/elec scrapper with Musculature Radial Paragon, T3 Preemptive interface, and both Lightning Field and Power Sink slotted for endmod. I can jump into a group of enemies, hit Power Sink, and watch them stand there doing nothing. It's almost as effective as a controller's AoE hold, and it has a much better uptime. The only problem is that after a while, the enemies will get tired of being debuffed into helplessness and run for the hills -- not something you need to worry about with an AoE hold.

Play thorugh Harvey Maylor's arc. It's stretched out over too many missions, but gives Vanessa's background in considerable detail.

Eighteen? There's no way that Faultline Penelope looks or acts eighteen. I always figured her for about fourteen.
If Primal Penelope is the daughter of Vanessa DeVore the way Praetorian Penelope is, then being 18 in Faultline says...unfortunate things...about Wu Yin's taste in women: Vanessa was somewhere between the ages of 9 and 15 when Penelope was conceived.

If she was 14, that's better: a 30-something Wu Yin being involved with a college-student Vanessa is far less disturbing.

Yes and no. A boss or LT has a higher chance to drop *recipes in general* than a minion, but the proportion of those recipes that are purples is unchanged.

If you've got two tanks on the team, you can have one of them pull the healing nictus while the other holds Rommy. Once you've got them separated, about the only way you can fail is if you don't have a third person to add to the second tank's DPS.

Ease of programming, mostly. Saving individual bytes hasn't been a worthwhile effort for 20 years or so; using a smaller datatype is only worthwhile if you've got a *lot* of data of that type (eg. pixel color values).
