Is it possible to get the arc at 50 to unlock her?

Also, what is the best way to get 200 masks and 100 illusionists?

To unlock Katie at 50, do Buck Salinger's arc "Crossing Over" through Flashback (Hero/Vigilante only).

There are a few ways to get BP masks - I prefer to get Unai Kemen's outdoors mission full of Banished Pantheon and set it to -1x6 to -1x8, and then repeat it. You need to set it to x6 or more, or else you won't be guaranteed a boss in every spawn. At x8 you'll get 2-3 in most.

Illusions can be done the same way, but with Carnie missions instead. Just find a mission with a big map and set it to the highest difficulty you can handle.

Note that you do NOT need to turn on "I want to fight Bosses while solo", and I personally suggest leaving it off. The Bosses will scale down to Lieutenants, and will still count towards the badges. Also remember that there was a recent change to the Carnie badge: The Dark Servants and Phantasms count for the badge too.

EDIT: Another way to get Archmage is to go Villain, and earn the Demonic Badge, and then switch back to Hero. On returning to Hero side, you'll be awarded Archmage, since they're equivalent Accolades. You won't get any of the regular Hero prerequisites automatically if you do it this way.

I personally find Demonic a LOT easier to earn than Archmage. If you decide to try this way, I find that the best way to get Coldhearted is to run back and forth across the north shore of Cap au Diable, picking off Hordelings as you go. The other badges are fairly straightforward.

Two things about the illusionists:
1) When a Master Illusionist summons three Illusionists, you'll get defeat credit if you simply damage them before they despawn -- you don't need to defeat them.
2) If you've got a good book and a way to drop aggro (I did this on a Stalker), you can farm a single Master Illusionist for the badge: her summon powers are on a (IIRC) four-minute recharge, so 20 brief periods of fighting over two and a half hours will get you the badge.

If you can wait, the best way to get the badge for the masks is to wait for Issue 22 to come out. Masks are much easier to find and defeat in the new Dark Astoria.

This is the old and very reliable method of farming illusionists. I don't know if it works any more however. It requires somebody with a damage aura and sometimes somebody with a targeted heal. I used a scrapper with quills myself.

Pick a Carnie mission which has a Master Illusionist. Wipe out all the spawns except for the MI. The healer stands out of aggro range of the MI with the damage aura person targeted, then puts the heal on autofire. The person with the damage aura just stands next to the MI. Then everybody goes afk for a few hours. It can be done solo if you have a good enough regen rate.

Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

I find that this, combined with AoE powers, usually means I get the badge without even having to think about it by doing Carnie tip missions.

As for Masks, in addition to the above, they appear in the area around Special Agent Jenny Adair on Talos Island during the night hours (game time), which equates to between xx:26-xx:36 and xx:56-xx06 every hour, real time.

In Paragon City since June 2005.

For the masks (and for that matter, Tsoo Sorcs) I found the easiest way to get them was to ask on the badge channels for other people to join me, and go to DA and split up and hunt the places where the masks hung out. If you do this with a L50 as your team lead, it's very easy to knock them down, and since everyone gets credit for the kills they go down pretty quickly.

As for Carnies, you don't necessarily have to farm if you can find a good 8-person team and run some Carnie radio or tip missions. Peregrine Island radio missions are great for this, especially if you get a team full of Incarnates who can go through them like a hot knife through butter. Just do several of them as 8-person spawned missions and clear the missions and you won't even need to farm. (Especially since the other MI pets now count, too.) That's what I did on my latest character, without even meaning to. Was actually quite startled when I got the badge without even trying.
